Ch13 Lose X And X Win

In the middle of the squared ring, Anita is grimacing as she couldn't believe that she was losing. On the wall, there is a monitor that is showing a number on it. It was 10:90 and the 10 is the time chip of Anita.

In this game, both of the players have fifty hours of time as chips. However, they can only wager multiples of ten.

They continue placing bets until one of them has no hours left to use. They take turns deciding what to bet on.

" I hope that you haven't forgotten baby that if you end up with zero hours, your team time limit will also shortened by fifty hours," Rendon said as he kept on squirming becoming aroused at Anita's dismay and her building-up anxiety.

" Shut up!." Anita shouted as she tried to calm down herself.

– In the monitor room.

" Rendon... Serving a 100-year sentence for multiple sexual assaults and illegal gambling. This match sounds like his kind of game." Lippo then looks at the other applicant's match.

Akira is looking at the situation with a grim expression.

Ponzu just keeps looking at Anita. She didn't say anything just watching the game unfold silently.

" If this keeps on like this. Anita will lose, No, She already has." Akira said before stretching his body in the corner preparing for the next game.

And just like what Akira expected without waiting for a few minutes Anita lost. They lost the first game and worse they gave up fifty hours of their limited time in the tower.

Anita walked into the two sides without lifting her head. " Sorry, because of me we–."

" Don't mind it. It's not like we already lost, we just need to win the remaining game and challenge that gambling addict." Akira said as he patted Anita's head.

Anita then nodded before sitting down. The pat served a purpose not only to calm down Anita but also Akira. He was confident in winning any game except drinking liquor. But he doesn't know whether Ponzu can win or not. From what he remembers Ponzu has passed the trick tower and failed to the fourth phase.

At that moment another prisoner in a coat steps forward before jumping on the stage.

He took out his coat and a muscular and large body could be seen.

" I am Dith, Come down here kid!." The prisoner named Dith called out Akira.

– In the monitor room

" Dith... He was famous in his area as Dith The Bandit, He had a 200-year sentence for robbery and murder. Although he wasn't nearly as strong as Johnes. He is my second strongest prisoner."

Seeing how Dith looks anyone can already guess what kind of game he would pick.

Akira looks at Dith before taking off his vest and neckerchief and giving them to Ponzu. " I'll be back."

Akira then jumped on the ring. Dith smiled widely before laughing.

" So you got some guts, kid!." Dith then looks at the monitor screen.

" I propose a death match!." Dith said as he looked at Akira intensely.

" A death match?!." Ponzu is startled by the game and looks at the monitor screen. And seeing that the examiner didn't interrupt means that the game was already approved.

" A fight until one dies, huh?." Anita mumbles before looking at Akira's back.

On the ring although it looks like the atmosphere is full of intense and heavy. Akira wasn't much affected by it even though he hadn't ever killed anyone before.

" Okay." Akira said with both of his hands in the pocket.

' A chance to legally kill someone. What a weird world we have!.'

" I commend for your courage!." Dith said before taking a stance.

" Without further ado, Let's begin!." Dith then rushed to Akira with both of his hands clenching into fists.

Akira slowly walked forward without taking out his hand. When Dith is close enough, Akira sends a fast kick to his side which Dith tries to block but the attack is too fast for him and makes him slide a few steps away.

' Agh! This kid is strong! Where the hell did he get this kind of strength from? When his body looks extremely fragile.' Dith thought to himself.

The real reason Dith gave a challenge to Akira wasn't because he looked the strongest of the remaining two but because he just loved to bully the weak. Fighting a girl won't excite him as fighting a guy who would not give up despite already being beaten up badly.

" As expected, I become much stronger." Akira mumbles as he clenches his fist and punches in the air a few times.

After waking up this morning, Akira noticed how his Aura became more stable after fighting Netero. The aura leaking out from his body has become much more stable and maintained in his body like a shield although it disarray often.

The aura leaking outside Akira's body is the excessive aura that his body can't contain inside. So even if he used up all the aura leaking from his body, He wouldn't feel any exhaustion except the fact his defense and offense would decrease as the aura disappeared.

Akira was ecstatic at what he got from participating in Netero's game. ' Right now, I feel like I could easily pass the hunter exam.'

Returning from the game. Akira dodged an attack coming from his right. The smile on Dith's face at the start of the game disappeared and changed into frustration.

Akira jumps back as he dodges another tackle from Dith.' He already has shown all of his cards. Look like I need to end it.'

Dith is the type who only relies on brute force which means he doesn't have a chance of defeating Akira with an aura leaking from his body.

Akira then slowly walked forward until another one of him appeared on his side. It was the rhythm echo, After using it once he already got the feeling of how to use it again. Even though he knew the first one was just a fluke.

All the ones in the room look surprised with different thoughts.

Dith also looks surprised and terrified seeing a familiar move. " Y-you!!! Are you a Zoldyck!."

Dith had already encountered a Zoldyck before and fortunately survived.

Akira hearing the name Zoldyck just smirked before appearing behind Dith and easily snapped his neck.

" Hoo~, Much easier to use than before." Akira said as took the part of the chip in Dith's pocket before walking back to his team. ' Killing wasn't a big deal as I thought.'

Akira was ready to punch himself if he felt any nausea and vomiting after killing Dith. He knows that if he is feeling guilty every death will gonna be bite him someday. So it was best if he did not feel anything.

Death is just a normal occurrence in this Hunter World.

Walking back to his team, Rather than a congratulations an attack welcomed him. Anita with her knife lounge on him.

Akira easily dodged her attack before giving the said girl a chop on the back of her neck to make him unconscious.

" Look like, I remember it right." Akira said particularly to no one.

He remembered Anita after meeting Andy. She was the one who participated in the hunter exam just so she could find the one who killed her father.

" Akira!." Ponzu looks puzzled at why the two fight all of a sudden.

" Don't worry, She is just unconscious and I'll explain it to you after we pass this test. Right now, Just focus on the game." Akira said pointing his finger in the direction of the prisoner.

Ponzu nodded, She wasn't a fool who would prioritize her curiosity over her objective.

< 5 minutes Later >

Akira looked surprised at what he saw just now. An adult man got trashed by Ponzu. ' As expected she was deadly! '

Seeing that Ponzu was walking back now, Akira also walked closer to her. " Nice fight! Ponzu."

Ponzu smiled as she walked back to their side. " Hehe, looks like learning from Mom was worth it."

Seeing that we had now won twice Lippo the third phase head examiner spoke up. " As I said earlier. Since you won twice now, you had a chance to challenge Prisoner Rendon to get his chip and clear this game."

Rendon immediately enters the ring with an amused expression. " Come down here, Cutie."

Rendon expects Ponzu to be the one who will play with him like how Akira accepted Dith's challenge.

Akira looks at Ponzu before nodding. He already talked about this matter before to Ponzu. If they won, He was the one to play with the remaining prisoner. Ponzu agrees as she trusts Akira enough to carry out their win.

Akira walked into the ring. He smirked seeing Rendon's disgusted look. " Sorry to disappoint you but I'll be the one playing with you."

" Hey, I wanted to play with that cutie. Get out of here!." Rendon yelled.

Akira ignored him and looked at the monitor on the wall. " Hey, Examiner-san. In this round can I pick what game we will gonna play?."

" Okay, I granted your request." Lippo said in the speaker.

Rendon quickly said. " Wait, This wasn't on our deals."

" I'm going to add it now." Lippo said sarcastically.

" Y-you bastard!." Rendon cried out before looking at Akira menacingly.

Akira just shrugged seeing his intense look. " I'm not interested in guy, Y'see."

Rendon gritted his teeth and he clenched his fist hard enough for it to bleed.

" I'm definitely going to kill you!." Rendon screamed at the top of his lungs.

As you expect, I did make them lose their time. I'm planning to make the three relationships much closer in those hours.

At first, I planned to make Akira join the Phantom Troupe Temporarily because it aligns with his objective. Do I continue with this plan? or make the spider his enemies? Alliance?

I am planning on making a team for Akira to accompany him venturing into the much bigger world, The Dark Continent. I already have a few people in mind to become his companion. Although only Ponzu and Anita are already confirmed.
