Chapter 11: Pass

"I am the last survivor of the Kurta Clan."

Kurapika begins to talk, everyone quits down and listens.

"4 years ago, my clan was annihilated by a band of criminals. I wish to become a hunter and hunt down that band, the Phantom Troupe."

"So you want to become a bounty hunter. The Phantom Troupe is a Class-A bounty, not even the most grizzled hunters can touch them. You'd be throwing away your life."

"I do not fear death. I fear only that my rage will fade over time."

Kurapika's eyes flash a scarlet color. It goes unnoticed by the rest. I can hear the wind getting stronger. Staring out the window, there's a bad feeling in my heart. I run out the room and into front deck. There, I see a huge waterspout.

"Tsk!"

I see people hauling at the rope, trying to raise the sails. I run along and catch a rope that blew many sailors away. It slaps me on my face while I feel the heavy rain hitting me. The sailors that were thrown off come back and grab the rope. They help me pull. I hear two people exit the ship. Turning around, I see Leorio and Kurapika standing in place. They seem to be having some sort of confrontation.

Gon later joins in hauling the sails down, I have a bad feeling in my heart. Maybe it's do to me being lighter than the rest, but the water that came gushing onto the boat pushed me along. I also see someone else get pushed as I slam my head on the boat. Their luck isn't so good as mine. He's thrown overboard. An idea pops up in my head, I quickly form a fishing pole.

Kurapika and Leorio also try catching him, but they missed. I see Gon about to jump off so I latch the fishing pole around his waist as he catches him. Leorio and Kurapika also assist in catching Gon. I pull the pole as hard as I can, picking up all 4 in the process. As they are about to touch the boat, my feet slip and I hit my head again on the boat. Thank goodness that I've been hanging out with Gon for years, my physical strength increased.

I look at them, they look at me. I give them a smile as the captain orders his men to bring in the man that fell out to sea. Taking a closer look at the man, it's Katsuo. As the skys clear, I walk up to Gon being scolded by Kurapika and Leorio. Looking down to Gon, I hit his head.

"Ouch! Why'd you hit me?!"

"Idiot! Next time, I'll just watch as you get your due."

I hear the door open. Turning to look, Katsuo approaches.

"Gon!"

"Katsuo!"

"Thanks Gon, you saved my life."

"I couldn't have done it alone. Mr.Leorio, Kurapika, and Esther helped!"

Katsuo runs up to all three of us and thanks us. Kurapika and Leorio try to sound as if they aren't happy. Their tone and action fools them though. I nod my head rapidly, trying to cover my head with my hoodie. When Katsuo runs off, I can see Kurapika and Leorio getting along. Leorio even allowed Kurapika to say his name without formalities. A hardy cry is heard from the captain.

"I like you guys! Ok! I'll take responsibility for bring you 4 to the port closest to the exam site."

Gon: "Really? What about your test?"

"Like I said, it's my decision to make."

The captain smiles.

"And all 4 of you pass!"

Everyone seems happy. Pulling out a book from the backpack Gon was once wearing, I check off everyone on the boat. No-one has ever heard of cage. A small frown forms, but I quickly put on a smile. This has become my go-to face.
