The Church

Though the area around the church was abandoned, the church itself was remarkably well-preserved.

When Ren stepped inside the gate it was as though even the time had respected the holy place. The place was relatively clean compared to all the dilapidated buildings he had been seeing around.

When Ren stepped inside, his attention was immediately drawn to the statue of a grey lady standing in the center of a fountain. It was carved from smooth marble.

She held a large staff as the water trickled gently from its tip. Her wings were half spread, and the tips were folded inward as if caught mid-flight.

A fine layer of dust had settled on her surface, but it did nothing to dull her beauty.

"That's the lady Nina. She is supposed to be the servant of the deities or so I have heard."

Ren nodded as he walked further. The name Nina did not stir any memories in his mind. He walked further into the small, quiet building.
