After he stepped out of the taxi, he went to the restaurant lobby to look for her. This evening, he chose to wear gray slacks and a deep plum shirt open at the collar, simple yet stylish. Ross waited and glanced at his watch. Ten after eight. Perhaps, she decided not to join him after all; although, Allie knew she didn't have to worry about him any longer. He couldn't even make a citizen's arrest, even if he wanted to, and he certainly didn't want to do anything but savor each moment in her company.
As he started back to the sidewalk, he caught movement from the corner of his eye. From out of a nearby recess in the walls, a dark form approached. He stepped back, wary of muggers who preyed on tourists.
