Blood Ties:2

Waking up after feeling like I've been drunk and knocked out again now feeling like I've been caught in a fight like some sort of drunkard. I sat up and looked around.

Upon looking around, I seem to have been kidnapped and brought back to some odd cottage. Logs lining the walls horizontally, wooden furniture, a candle on the bedside stand about halfway down now.

I must have been here for at least an hour now. scurrying my way to the edge of the bed, I paused as I felt my body being very light. Looking down, I noticed that I'm wearing nothing but a rag over my attached little brother.

I look around the room and see a set of simple clothes that were with me earlier draped over a chair. I put the clothes on with nothing else to wear or to do.

"Man, am I really going to be some sort of Gigaloo?"

Feeling a little defeated, I went out of the room. Noticing that the burner was on and the fire was tended. I immediately realized that there is someone who is nearby. At least within the vicinity of the cabin.

"You must be Sir. Damien"

Panicking as I heard nothing or even felt the old man wearing a suit. I immediately backed up and my back hit the wall.

"You are safe here kid no need to be so nervous; before you even ask where you are. You sir are in the dungeon of the lady of this house. Well, Let's say the 50th floor." The man nonchalantly said staring down at me.

'We are underground?'

Looking outside, I saw darkness, no moon, no sun, not even a luminescence of the local diversity.

"Well, then young Sir. I wish you good luck and I shall see you on the surface" The Butler turned around and vanished. Seemingly molded into the shadows.

Walking around the house looking for anything I could find. All I saw in the pantry was just 5 viles of what seemed to be health potions. There were no weapons, not even an axe to use to split wood. Knives to prepare food or even pans. Just a heater in the middle of the room and crude wooden furniture that would splinter at even the thought of using it as a weapon.

I stayed still at the cabin for what seemed like days. Starting to feel the thirst again but the outside showed no signs of light. I gave up, I knew that I had to get out of the house or I would just wither and die without even much of an adventure.

"Well, I don't know what to feel about this. I'm happy that I'm not sold as some sort of gigolo and serving some random woman. At the same time, this eternal darkness really isn't so inviting..." I started talking to myself, feeling the loneliness.

'Well, let's just see what is outside'

stepping out of the house, it became eerily quiet. There was no sound of even crickets or birds, the wind seemed to be still.

"Man I really wish I had some sort of light or nightvisio-"

Right before I was going to finish the thought, the world became blue. In a panic, I started blinking trying to get my vision back to normal. In that process, I looked at my hand. I saw that it was orange, and where I would see my blood I saw red lines.

Rushing back to the cabin, tripping and stumbling my way. I saw the furnace glowing a bright orange color. looking outside again it was blue but this time there was a slight difference.

I saw there was a treeline and in the tree line, I notice some orange dots with some streaks of red webbing out of what seemed to be their center of mass.

Calming down after finally reaching the cabin and getting some sort of shelter and defense from the outside world. I had thought to myself.

'If I wished earlier that I could see at night if I wish for it to return it should work right?'

Closing my eyes and wishing that my vision was to return to normal. I finally opened my eyes.

'It's normal!'

It seems to switch on my instinctual urge to want a different vision. Upon further experimenting, I noticed that the red streaks of red were where my artery and veins were located. This means that the red blob in the center mass of those animals must be the heart.

'What has happened to me? Did that lady do something? Whatever, I can't keep thinking about it. I'm not going to get anywhere. At least with this, I can make some progress in making it back to Mom and Dad'

With a newfound power and motivation, I stepped out of the cabin once again. This time with more confidence than the first time I had stepped out. I activated my "Blue Vision" walking my way through the treeline. Avoiding large blobs of yellow or orange assuming hostile creatures.

While walking, I noticed something that was different. Breaking from the treeline I went to what seems like either an old battlefield or a mass grave. Swords sticking out of the ground and broken weapons of war littered the field.

Walking up to the site, with the intention of trying to get a weapon. I noticed that there was a black figure. A humanoid figure. Checking with my normal vision, there was nothing but changing back into my "Blue vision" It's back there.

After staring at it for some time trying to figure out what it was. A loud demonic scream started to ring. The high-pitched guttural roar with a mix of metallic screeching.

The figure's head snapped in my direction quickly closing in on me.

"Shit! Ethereal and screaming. What is this?!"

Running away trying to lose the ghost. Meanwhile, the ghost was just phasing through the trees that I was trying to put between me and the creature.

-Scratch!

"Argh!"

Feeling like the skin on my back has been ripped off, I didn't need to turn around and see the damage my goal was to run away trying to put more distance. My heart started to beat quicker and quicker, the adrenaline spiking. I tried to jump over a fallen tree.

-Boom!

All of a sudden like there was an explosion behind me propelling me forward. Sending me over the horizon, while in the air. I saw a large tree reaching all the way to the sky. I felt something drawing me toward's the large tree.

A few seconds passes and the momentum that was spent on sending me up into the air ran out. I started to fall back down, accelerating very quickly toward the ground.

'Fuck!'

-Boom!

Pain, It felt like my whole body exploded from the inside out. I couldn't move anything, my arms felt bent in the wrong ways. I could barely lift my head to look around. My legs were bloodied and scratched.

Something smelled amazing, looking in the direction of the scent, one of the viles has cracked leaking its liquids towards the crater that my body lies in the middle of limped and damaged.

Trying to fight the pain and reach the vile, My head started to throb in pain, everything hurt so much.

Tears started to come out, I started to incoherently started crying. Every time I breathed in, it felt like there was a spear that stabbed my heart. My eyes felt like they were made of lead, the pain slowly resided. A wave of comfort started to take over my body.

'Maybe after taking a nap, I'll wake up feeling better right? I'm sorry Mom, I'm just gonna take a quick nap and I'll come back home' I had thought to myself, feeling at a loss with the mix of acceptance.

Shutting my eyes I let my consciousness drift away.
