Don't keep dwelling in thoughts

Mr. Walter, Leena's father, wasn't home yet, she met with just Mrs Walter

After showing her appreciation and gratitude to the woman, Penelope went back to room where Leena was already helping her prepare her bed

"Oh Leena, words can't express how grateful I am, you...."

"Shhh Penelope" Leena interrupted her, stopping Penelope from saying whatever she was going to say "you don't have to thank me, I am your best friend or you can think of me as your sister now" Leena added with smiles

Penelope returned the polite smile and nodded, Leena was happy that her friend was now smiling after crying non stop some hours ago, she looked happier.

"What about your mother's wake?" Leena asked sitting on the edge of her own bed, Penelope had a distressed look as she stood at the corner of the room and sighed, glancing at her properties, she thought of her mother again.

Almost everything reminded her of her mom, they shared so much memory together that she couldn't still believe she was now gone and they wouldn't be able to make more memories

She had plans to one day, get her family out of poverty and spoil her mom with so much money, her mom was never going to suffer again, but all that couldn't happen again and up till death, her mom still suffered.

Thinking of this, her eyes became teary again, with tears threatening to fall soon. Leena seeing this, regretted asking such question, she was happy that her friend was once again smiling but she bringing up that question has taken her back to her gloomy state.

"Uhmm, my mom had some money saved up, she was planning on sending me back to school and paying part of the rent" Penelope said and lifted her hand to wipe away the single tear that rolled down her eye "I can use that to organize a wake for her before finally putting her to rest, I could use a funeral home or any cheaper location" she continued, once again, Leena felt pity for her friend

Was there really any reason for a wake, when no one would come to visit her mom for the last time, to pay their respect?' Penelope asked herself

" You'll have to ask for a leave from work" Leena said trying to sound okay

" Yes, I already thought of that, I'll send an email to the HR, I'll be asking for a seven days leave, I just hope it won't make me loose the job as I just started" Penelope said moving to sit on her bed, she was already feeling tired. Her eyes were hurting already, and it was already swollen from crying so much today.

"Yeah. Sleep now penny, tomorrow is going to be a long day, you should rest and please sleep, don't keep dwelling in thoughts" Leena said climbing her bed fully

"Goodnight Lee" Penelope head finally settled, resting on the soft pillow.

It was already past 11pm, the night was getting deeper, Penelope could now feel the fatigue and dizziness from all the crying she did today and moving of her property. She felt lightheaded and dizzy.

And after some minutes, she slept off, her eyes were already feeling heavy and paining.
