Hero To Overlord: Arlott the Unfettered!

[On Hiatus] Warming: Mature Content. R18 and Dark but cute and wholesome too. Balanced dose of both. Despite doing nothing but good, Arlott received nothing but bad. He saved the world by being an unaware puppet, but all he got was darkest of mud plastered on him after "they" stripped him of his powers that he thought were his. Drug Addict. Abuser of power. Executing manslaughter just because of a few mocking words and getting offended easily. A sexual beast who would take any woman he liked with his power. The hero, Arlott, was never a savior! All he did was to gain the favors of the public, high status, and riches. With his God-given talents, he was a mighty hero of the masses outside and a devil in private! Those who used him and threw him into the sea of despair didn't even bother to kill him because they kept him as a live example to the other rising tides of the world. And they enjoyed seeing him struggling, doing reckless things, experimenting on himself, and doing anything for that far away chance of revenge. But at the age of forty six, his search for revenge and power finally made him stumble upon an encounter--a sea of malevolence, a shrine of cosmic catastrophe-- that forever changed his fate as his path to vengeance finally started with a second chance at life after being born as a son of one of his main betrayers. This time, Arlott would have his revenge as he walks on the path of an overlord, a ruthless tyrant, and a villain in their lives as he vows to make their life a living a hell, all while thoroughly enjoying his new life in the lightest and darkest ways. Explaining, The Ghost (2/3)

Cloudford Guild's headquarters was outside the city, twenty kilometers away. It was situated near a riverbank for water sources.

The base looked like a huge castle that was twenty meters tall.

Naturally, this area didn't only have the build base as there was a small town on the other side of the river. It was the town of young adventurers since wilderness started from there.

The graduated mages would go there to hone their skills and combat against Grade 2 and higher Minions while also protecting the city.

The town was also a sort of trading place for young warriors.

Iris, Luna, and Arlott arrived there by car via road and booked a room in the best hotel for one day as Iris was earning money already by selling parts of Minions.

The trio sat at a table in the hotel's terrace, which was a garden with a few other groups sitting and having breakfast.

The Cloudford Guild's base was clearly visible from there.

After creating a transparent barrier around them, Arlott took a sip from the teacup.

"Tell us," Luna eagerly said.

Arlott smiled and opened his palm, showing a bunch of blue sparks, which were essentially Mana.

"There are three paths of power. Arcane Path, Genome Path, and Soul Path."

"Soul Path?" Iris raised her eyebrows. "Is that the secret of your power?"

"Kinda."

Arlott nodded and continued, "In the Arcane Path, we cultivate Arcane Force and Increase our Mana by absorbing resources from Minion's cores or other natural resources. I am weakest in this path as I am only a 2nd class mage."

Iris and Luna were speechless. He was still more powerful than them!

"How did you reach second class so fast?" Luna confusedly asked. "How much Arcane do you exactly have?"

Arlott lightly snapped his finger and sent Arcane path status to their mind by consuming a point of Soul Essence.

Both Iris and Luna suddenly saw it in their mind.

***

\_Arcane Core_/

—> Arcane Force: 16,240

—> Mana Pool: [160,000/160,000]

_Affinities:

—> Fire, Earth, Air, Water, Light, Darkness.

_Talents:

  —> Arcane Throne, Elemental Symphony.

***

"What are your talents' effects?" Iris curiously asked.

"Elemental Symphony allows me to have an easier time comprehending the advanced elements. So far, I can create Magma, Crystal, Ice, and Lightning."

"What?!"

Iris and Luna were shocked.

"Y-you, did you already form their Nexus and got affinities?" Luna asked.

"Not yet, but I'll be done with Magma Nexus and Crystal Nexus soon, so I'll have proper Magma and Crystal affinities," Arott grinned.

"Damn…You have all primary affinities, so as long as you work hard, you can have a lot of Advanced affinities," Iris mumbled.

If people wanted to awaken a new Primary affinity they didn't have, they would have to eat tons of resources, withstand pain, find related resources, and other struggles, but Arlott already had all Primary affinities, so he only had to work hard to create Advanced and Exotic affinities.

Naturally, it was no easy matter to create Advanced and Exotic Affinities as there were many, and each had different and unique ways to achieve them.

The top ancient families all had secrets of their special Advanced elements, Exotic Elements, and powerful secret magics through centuries of experiments and research.

"Did you try to create any easy Exotic element that requires a combination of three Primary elements?" Luna asked with shining eyes.

"Nah, not yet," Arlott shook his head. "I'll progress regarding that according to my speed in various areas. Anyway, back to the main topic."

Arlott put away Mana from his palm and showed faint golden-red dreamy motes, which was the energy of Genome path, Vitalis—Just like Arcane Path had Mana.

"The second path is the Genome Path, and I am more powerful in Genome Path than Aracne Path," Arlott smiled. "I can withstand any magic attacks of 4th-class mages and below. Even if a 5th-class mage injured me severely, I can recover quickly due to some Geno Skills I have."

Arlott sent his Genome Path status to the girls.

\_Genome Tree_/

—> Genome Pulse: 26,430.

—> Vitalis: [ 250,000 / 250,000 ]

_Genelines:

—>

_Talents:

—>

"We can manifest our Genome Tree by absorbing new resources that were birthed after the last calamity. Afterward, as long as we nurture that tree, our body's Genome Pulse increases, which directly increases the foundation of our body, making us stronger."

"But Geno Arts are so scarce and expensive to get. Even Mom's and Dad's Geno Arts are not this powerful," Iris creased her brows. "So, how did you make so much progress in your Genome Tree and become this powerful? And you even have Geno skills?"

"Yep. Here, take a look."

[_Skill 1: Morphyx ]: Increase your body's size or shrink it by consuming Vitalis. Increases all physical parameters according to the Genome Pulse in your body and Vitalis consumed.

[_Skill 2: Regen Burst]: Your natural healing factor is passively increased according to your Genome Pulse, and you can swiftly regenerate your wounds, even fatal ones, as long as you have Vitalis and are capable of consuming Vitalis to heal in your injured state.

"Woah!"

Luna and Iris were shocked reading the skills.

Arlott faintly smiled, "I'll give both of you a Geno Art. The three of us can practice it and get stronger."

"And what is that Geneline thing?" Iris curiously asked.

"It is something you manifest as you progress in Genome Path and evolve your Genome Tree. Genelines give special physical powers to your body," Arlott chuckled. "Our bodies have secrets of the universe, and this old saying was not false."

"The Geno Arts I have are capable of manifesting Genelines in us. I'm sure top powerhouses already have Genelines in them as it's been decades since Genome Path was found."

"Arlott, you have many secrets," Luna giggled.

"Yeah, he has," Iris wryly smiled. 'And you don't know some of the crazy ones.'

"I do have many secrets that I'll tell you one at a time," Arlott said with a laugh before he continued.

"Next is Soul Path. I always focused on this path, so It's my strongest suit. In simple terms, Soul Path requires us to refine our souls, but this is easier than done, especially without Soul Arts."

Arlott's lips curled as a devilish smile formed on his face.

"As I am now, I have the strongest Soul in this world. Of course, I am not invincible, and there might be some artifact or powers that can resist my soul force," Arlott shrugged and added. "The waters in this world are deep, and I don't know its depths yet, so I still need to move one step at a time before I can lord over those so-called ancient families and other bigshots."

"So, you really want this world under your palm?" Luna asked, shocked.

Iris's jaw also dropped.

"Did you think I was joking?"

Arlott sharply grinned.

"I want this world under my palm. This is decided, and It will happen."

Iris and Luna felt their blood rush, and their hearts beat faster upon seeing Arlott and hearing his words.

"I want to see it happen," Luna said, her eyes dreamy and her face red.

"Me too," Iris said with thrilling eyes and flushed cheeks.

[It looks like you've made them excited about the future.]

Arlott smiled.

"Alright, girls. Now you know a bit about my powers, so it's time for The Ghost to appear."

Arlott stood up and looked at the Cloudford Guild's base.

"Stay here. I'll be back in a few minutes."
