Chapter V

Alice was caught in the trouble between the syndicates who illegally sell demi-humans (humans who are half-breed like some sort of animals) to rich people in the society to be their slaves. There are many kinds of slavery in the country where Alice landed, there are different types of slavery.

Forced Labor- The physical or psychological manipulation or coercion to force a person to work.

Bonded Labor- The coercion of a person to work in order to pay off incurred debt.

Domestic Servitude-Individuals whose workplace is a private residence and feel as though they cannot leave; they may also be abused. These individuals lack common benefits including, but not limited to, days off, appropriate compensation, and freedom from abuse and violence.

Unlawful recruitment- The coercion or manipulation of children to act as combatants. The traffickers could be individuals, rebel groups, paramilitary groups, or governments.

These are only common slavery in the nation which is well-known, however, this includes Sexually slavery which is very common in a corrupted society. Alice was caught in this, the seller of the demi-human who bought her was very expert at that. It only takes 1-2 days for her to be sold on the bid on the black market.

Although she was new in this kind of society, Alice knew that she is in great trouble and that she has to escape from that place. Without Cheshire, she is like a powerless human who can only wield a sword.

The young girl met a young man inside the prison, though in her first attempt of having a conversation with him it failed. The young man approached her himself and asked what she will do if she can get a chance to hold a weapon such as a sword. Alice affirmatively told the guy that she only needed a sword, the smirk on her face can be seen to it.

The guy agreed to the idea and now the story continues…

Alice's POV⸻

These humans are so cruel. After I got abducted by these people, I don't have any idea what they are going to do next. I'm so frustrated that I can't do anything but wait for what will happen to me in the following hour. Cheshire is missing, I'm guessing that the old hag has something to do with Cheshire's disappearance.

Now I got caged again but this time, I'm with a guy with I'm not sure if it's an animal ear. Just like Cheshire's ears. Though I'm pretty sure that most of the people I've already seen here are somewhat alike to one another. (Doesn't realize that she has also these disturbing ears)

The guy who approached me after he ignored me before stood up and just like what I was doing before, he is either staring outside the cell or glancing in nowhere? But neither of those I'm certain that he is thinking about. Well, I could describe it since he looks like thinking about something.

But before trying to figure these things out, I should ask why do humans abduct such a large number of people. He may know something about it, he doesn't look dumb to me at all.

"Hey. Can you tell me why these people abducted so many innocent humans? I mean, I don't either understand why I got caught in such a casualty but I still want to know." The guy slowly turned his attention to the young Alice who doesn't have any speck of hint of what is the cause why she got abducted.

His expression gradually changed into a dull one and he started eloquently speaking his words to me.

"Are you an idiot?" he said without any doubt of hesitation towards me, "I-i'm not an idiot! I just want to know why these humans abducted another human!" I complained as I pouted angrily at him. I never thought that this guy would have the guts to say that to me when I'm only asking him nicely.

However, in no time. He started telling me the things I didn't know.

"We were abducted because we are demi-humans. The people who have the lowest rank in society, or in short. We are being called lowborn, demi-humans are treated not other than an animal being." My eyes were widened when he said that to me, never in my wildest imagination that I'll get treated like an animal.

"Hnnng! This is unforgivable! How can they treat me like an animal! I'm pretty and such…" not to mention, I'm the princess of the wonderland! This can't be!

"I knew it you are really an idiot-" I suddenly glared at him when I heard him calling me an idiot once again, I covered his mouth because of annoyance. I began speaking myself while his mouth was covered in my hand.

"Lowest rank in the society? Really? I know that I have no name in this place but to be treated like an animal is beyond my ego! I won't allow them to trample my sincerest reputation in this world. I just came here and I'll be treated like this!? This can't be-" I turned around and thought of something that will help me to escape from this cell.

I heard the guy sighed, "I never saw someone so dumb like you. To tell you this, we are here because we got sold off. Either the demi-human's master was the one who sold other demi-humans here or in a natural way, you got abducted." he continuously explained. However, I don't get why he has to call me dumb. Surely I don't know how things work here! I just got here, dumbass.

That comes out of my mind, this brilliant idea that has crossed over to my brain will surely work.

"You said that it's either we got sold off or abducted then it means that we're important for something! Then if something bad happened to us, they will be in great trouble for sure." he was looking at me suspiciously but I can't really guess what he was thinking right now.

"And…?" he uninterestedly muttered, I had to stare at him blankly because of what he said though I still continued, "Then we can use that."

And so, we proceeded to our fabulous plan. I mean, my plan⸺

We had to pretend that this guy is attacking me by choking me to death and I must be shouting, screaming, crying as such.

"Ahhh! Kuhoo, Help me! This bastard has lost his mind!" but I don't think that he is acting at all! He's really choking me to death, oh my god! What in the world is his problem. I'm going to die, I'm going to die!

Luckily, the watcher noticed us. Shouting directly at us, I knew that this plan was going smoothly.

"Hey! Stop that!" the watcher said like there's no sound of thrill at all. Is that for real? Anyways, go back to the scene.

"Why would I? This pig is getting on my nerves that I can't hold it anymore! If you don't separate her from me at all, I'm gonna send her to hell!" Ugh! This guy, I told him just to act like he's choking me but he is choking me for real.

Hurry up and open the cell stupid watcher, I'm really going to die here!

I shifted my glance to the lock of the cell as the watcher opened it, he directly attacked this psycho guy who is literally choking me to death to make him stop. Though, this was really in our plan, after the guy released me. He quickly went after the watcher and stroked him down.

I started coughing after he released me and I had to complain about that brutal choking. Glaring at him furiously, "Hey! I told you just act that you are choking me! I never told you to choke me to death! As in literally killing me!" I was so mad but when I heard his reply, I could be the angriest person in this place.

"No one will be fooled in an act."

As in seriously, why I have to be with this guy. I touched my neck, I bet it has marks on it⸺I turned my back to him and muttered something in a serious tone.

"Let's not meet each other again. This will be our first and final meeting, take good care of yourself." You nearly killed me to death!

"..." the guy didn't say anything, I snatched the last glance secretly at him but it was so bizarre that he was directly staring at me. I shook my head, "What a weird guy," I whispered to myself.

I decided to go after that hectic encounter, honestly, I don't have any idea where I should go next. It was so dark, I don't have a weapon that I can use to fend the enemies off if they ever come to my way. But as I walk in this dark corridor, I can sense eyes that are silently observing me.

"Wait, if he said that the people who got abducted here were half-breeds. Then Cheshire might be here! That is certain!" I know that Cheshire is a magus and he can switch beyond two races. And I don't think I can leave the other people who got abducted here.

Before that, I need to find a sword just in case there are shortcoming incidents I am able to protect myself.

And so I continued wandering off to that dark place all by myself after I departed from that man and into that cell.
