Never let your guard down.

Bai Xing knew when he was little that he would eventually be sacrificed but he did not know that it happened so early in his life. He wanted to have a wife and children and live a happy life, but that was not what the elders were planning for him. They could sense he was weak, but they did not realize what great potential he had. He found out that he was being sacrificed a week before. He now had three more days left to live. He could do nothing but sit in despair. Bai Xing knew he had a significantly low magic base level for his village.

"Bai Xing, why don't you come down for breakfast. You might as well enjoy yourself while you can," his Mother said. Bai Xing just sighed and walked down the stairs to the kitchen.

"Mother, I lost my appetite after hearing I would die," he said with a hint of anger and Bai Xing's mother read the room. Bai xing sat at the table with his mother, his father had already been sacrificed. The rest of the day went by slowly and boringly with Bai Xing sitting in his room weeping about what he would miss in life. He knew he would have to tell his friends about it, but he would be looked down upon. If he did not, his mother would force him to. No matter what he did they would probably see him on the stage in the village square saying his last words along with others being executed in other brutal ways on the death day as he called it. He decided to finally do something. He walked out into the brisk night air. Even though it was summer, the nights were cold. He thought about

everything he had done wasting his life. He strolled down to the village center where the stage would be set up in three days. Criminals were also executed.

He came across two people huddled together talking in dark hoods. He couldn't hear them properly; they were whispering in the lowest of tones. He tried to focus on them and listen. Suddenly he could hear them as if he were right next to him. Why was this?

"The titans demand that a Titan born be released. They say he is in this village"

"Which titan is demanding this?" One of the village elders said nervously.

"The Titan of chaos," the elder gulped. No one dared say his real name, Hechang Tian.

Bai Xing processed this information for quite some time, his usual calm and collective face was nervous and pale. If there was a titan born in their village they would have to be here for a long time and would have eventually killed everyone. Unless they did not know who they were.

Bai Xing had been so deep in thought that he didn't sense the presence of a being with a hostile intent. It was only when a dark hooded figure appeared in front of Bai Xing that he noticed, He frowned. Why had he not sensed the presence of this man. There were two answers to his question, one he was too deeply engrossed in the thought that a Titan was in their village or two he had to face his friends.

purchased a face. It had magical properties that made the wearer seem dull and not stand out.

He walked home, knowing with his equipment he would be the victor, but he had a feeling that the criminals he was to fight were not just simple criminals. He had an inkling of what the village elders were doing to him. Bai Xing stared at the ceiling in contemplation and when he figured out what the village elders had planned for him. He shuddered. They were executing him; they did not want the forest to feast on his soul, they were killing him in a way that the village would never know. He would rest up and find a way to escape.

Bai xing went to the arena where he was to duel the criminals. He surveyed the area looking for something to use to his advantage. There were walls all around him, one part of the wall on the right side of the arena was an older section of the wall. Bai Xing tested the old wall's strength. It gave in and he felt if he pushed harder he could make a small hole in the wall. Bai Xing was one of the weaker people in his village so he

He was wrong, it was a woman, the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, but he would not give in to beauty. There was a dangerous feeling about her like the feeling that any second she could kill you with a glance. She had magenta eyes and was wearing a dark purple robe, almost black.

"I can't kill you now, because the elders will hunt me down, but you will leave the village and I will kill you," said the mysterious woman.

Bai Xing was surprised by the sudden outburst from the woman.

"Who are you," Bai Xing said, confused. "I can't sense your power. You must be above the titan born rank"

"Ah yes, I am above the titan born rank but I will not tell you who I am. One day you and everyone else in the world will know me" she said. Suddenly she faded out of existence.

Bai Xing's eyes bulged and it took a tremendous amount of power to do this.

He sprinted home but as he got home he saw three men knocking on the door. When they saw him they walked over and asked him to open the door so they could talk in private.

"As you know, you are being sacrificed," Bai Xing nodded his head. "The village elders have made a decision to host a duel in the square. You will battle criminals. If you win we give you safe passage to the sacred site. Just remember this duel is to the death."

If I can just live three minutes longer maybe I can ask for mercy from the Forest God bai xing thought.

"I accept the terms," Bai Xing said.

"The duel will take place in two days, when the moon is the fullest, Good luck!"Bai Xing nodded his head. His family was significantly poor and he went to the village shop and purchased spit fire robes from the tailor.

"That will be fifty gold, are you sure you have enough money young master" the tailor said

"Yes, I do." Bai Xing's heart ached. This was almost all the money he had.

The tailor just handed him the robe then Bai Xing handed him fifty gold. Spit fire robes were made out of a spit fire spiders silk. It was resistant to fire and if you poured a bit of Chi in it you can make a fireball. Bai xing went to the armory and bought two darkness daggers which would cause powerful blows, not as powerful as a great sword but still could slit a throat. It also has a less known side, if the user inserts a steady flow of Chi into the dagger it will envelope the user in shadows and be invisible to the naked eye and it would expel waves of dark energy. The metal was dark and was a rather rare metal. It was from one of the danger zones where monsters and beasts roamed freely. Bai xing also bought a cloak to hide his identity. Lastly he took out three silvers and would have to rely upon his ability to run fast. He would push the wall in right after his first battle. Then he would run as far away as he could. It would take a short while for the guards to notice and to inform the elders.

Bai Xing awoke to an elder screaming, It was a horrible scream then suddenly the scream was cut off. He rummaged through his clothes and found the spit fire robes he had purchased the previous day.

Bai Xing rushed to the source of the screaming. In the middle of the street was a man in green robes. He had a long sword in his hand and blood stained the streets. In his other hand was a much more gruesome site than the blood. There was a severed head of one of the elders.

It was clear everyone had noticed but none had not dared venture outside. The man turned around, flashed him a grin and bowed. Then he vanished leaving the elders head to topple to the ground.
