Update 1

Yo so it's me again been a month or so since I returned and I have an update.

For the past month I have been thinking about the rewrite trying to rack my mind around how I wanted to even write this story until now where I think I have an outline and have a story I am willing and capable (I think) to proceed with. But I do have some warnings and things I would like to hear feedback on as I begin to rewrite.

First, I am going to have to practically rewrite the story. Now I will explain my reasoning.

- The main character as he is, is pretty bland. I didn't have much of a character arc with him and he seems kinda bipolar. Overall I have an idea and some working thoughts on a better protagonist.

- I included a lot of unnecessary details that didn't really add on to the over all plot or story. It bloated the story and is the reason why I only barely got out of initial training in like 100k words.

- I stuck extremely close to canon in this rendition and I want to get a fair bit more Au in the next one (not to the extent where I completely change the source material but rather I give a twist or my own spin on it)

- Overall had I continued I feel as though the story would have been rather bland.

Now, this doesn't mean I won't recycle a couple ideas (I will). But I will mostly be starting from scratch again. Though if we look at it optimistically I won't be re-telling the same thing we have all read before right?

My other major warning is that for what I have planned... This story is going to be LOOOONGG. Like before Reach I have 9 arcs (both mini and major) planned. Now I really want to write them but not at the detriment of the story and reader's enjoyment. Because I don't only want to write because I enjoy creating stories, but because I want others to enjoy them as well. So I am open to any feed back on that, and if you need to hear more I will list a couple of the arcs and whether they are major or minor.

-Defense on Harvest and Tracking down on Arcadia (Major)

-Operation: GREY VEIL (minor)

- The Fight for Algolis (Major)

- Head Hunting days (minor)

And that's all I want to reveal of course with a couple of Halo wiki searches you can guess where I am going with some of these, but probably not what will actually happen. Now the reason I want to do so many events is simply because the story isn't fully about the main protagonist, or at least that's not all I want to convey. The story is about Halo and more importantly what the Human-Covenant war looked like.

Anyway I have done enough rambling (at least for now). I will start writing out chapters soon and I hope to have enough so that I may start uploading by the new year or maybe a little later (finals are coming up but so is the break).
