After dinner Claude decided to cultivate his mana core again. Claude noticed that even with cultivation the development of mana core is super slow. He only got two streaks of light brown from cultivating six hours. Three yesterday and three the day before yesterday. Guess even the strongest species have limitations.

Claude woke up the next day and went to train along with Ares and Eren. Ares seemed to have a sleepless night. Claude can understand the reason, when you have two wives you also have to do certain things two times.

" Yeah, keep the conversation during dinner to yourself. Don't tell anyone." Ares said after a yamn.

The first three hours of training went the same way as the day before. Jogging, workout and lectures. But today Claude was allowed to spar. He was sparing a beginner rank knight. Everyone wanted to see the second son of the head knight. Especially after yesterday's conversation.

The knight was not bulky enough to be called a knight but that was the reason why he was a beginner in the first place.

According to Claude in rankers the intermediate tier is reached when the limiters are in a particular pattern around the mana core. For knights they are in surrounding the whole of mana core. For swordsmen they are like a ring around the mana core in the. They just look like the ring around Saturn and currently Claude is not even near that form so he has a long way to go before reaching the intermediate rank.

The knight in front of him was a normal person with a pink core. His pink core was a bit dull which is normal in peasantry because they don't eat for nutrients but for filling their stomach.

When the fight started the opponent jumped towards Claude trying to attack Claude on his head. Claude was calm and when the knight reached him he had already dodged it by doing a side step. The knight tried to attack where Claude was but Claude blocked the attack with his sword. This time it was Claude's turn to attack. Claude stabbed the knight on his shoulder which caused his grip on his sword to loosen. Claude hit his sword on his hands and the sword fell. Claude pointed his sword's tip on his neck and asked him to surrender and just like that Claude won.

" Alright, Claude. You have pros which are not seen in beginners while you also have cons which need to be improved. First, you don't fight with intent to win, you fight with the intent to kill. This is something which will help you in fighting in life and death situations because I have seen many youngsters die due to having mercy. You use tactics which is a very good thing for now but in the near future when you fight against master ranks you won't be able to win because they have something which will notify them of your presence. You also have that rough sword play which is common in beginners but you will soon improve it. You are too cautious in a fight because you first want to know about your opponent's battle style but with caution you should also do something called testing water. You should give them the bait that you are going on offense but you should always be on your guard. That's it, you did a good job on your first day." When Ares' speech was coming to an end it was already 12 pm.

After saying his goodbyes to everyone including Ares and Eren. Claude went towards the river in the black forest.

He sat down on a rock and started eating his lunch while reading the beginner's book in ranking and tiers. He was going to learn life and death magic today. In the book there were three basic spells on every element's three tiers except Holy and Abyss magic.

Claude always found it confusing on how expensive this book will be as it has the basic tier three spells of every element. When Ares asked Claude, he said that each book cost 50 silver emperions.( Emperions : Currency of empire which I have still not thought of a name.)

Claude was shocked when he heard that because Ares's own salary was 20 silver emperions annually. But when Claude asked why he had given such a costly book to Claude, his step son, he simply chuckled. He said that the money for the book came from his past when he was a hunter. Then Claude understood the reason, even swordmaster makes a gold emperion in a month in dungeons and local hunting but the risk of dying is a lot too. A lot of youngsters die trying to make money from the dungeons.

Claude read the first three tiers of life magic and understood their concepts.

' Life magic is the control over elements of life itself but true life magic till this day is only learned by elves. The life magic taught in this book is in short healing magic.'

' Healing magic is the one of the hardest but the most needed magic. The healer discipline is something not many can follow because unlike most of the other disciplines, the healer discipline requires a set amount of conditions to be met which are not easy. But the basic healing magic from tier 1 to tier 3 is not as hard as the whole discipline but not easy either because unlike other elements which can be seen by naked eyes, the life element belongs to the category of not seen by naked eyes. It's hard to understand and implement something which can't be seen.'

Claude decided to follow the book instructions and that was to find something that is injured. Usually you can use the dead leaves attached to a plant or an injured cattle. There was also a caution that said to not use it on humans if you have no experience, the book's writer won't take any blame. Claude found a dead branch on a tree.

' One of the biggest reasons why people can't learn healing magic is because the first three tiers in the book are all required to perform a complete healing. The spells are required of you to send your own mana in someone else's body which is a very delicate process and requires your unwavering attention because the consequences of sending once mana in another person's body is akin to sending your organ in another's body. More mana than necessary can damage the veins, muscle and heart of the body. That's why most of the time people call licensed healers and very few local healers are used. In the soldiers of venia the mage is actually a battle mage but he has also learnt healing but has not gotten the licence because he was not able to pass the exam.'

Claude placed the hand on the tree and casted the tier one spell of the healing magic.

" Heal "

The spell spread Claude's mana across the tree. The feeling was a bit weird, he felt like he had become the tree but he couldn't feel anything. He just knew that there was an injury which was causing the tree a lot of pain. Just like before he didn't feel the pain but knew it was there. Claude casted the magic spell hundreds of times to get used to it.

When he was finally able to get used to that feeling, Claude finally decided to use the tier 2 spell. Unlike tier one where you were required to send your mana to check the condition of the injury. This time you are required to make your mana interact with the other person's mana. This allows your mana to freely move in the other person's body.

When Claude sended his mana the tree mana rejected it. It was not as if the tree was rejecting his mana. It was more like the mana of Claude was not compatible with the tree's mana. It was like the tune was not going well with the lyrics in a song or even though the organ was the same the blood group didn't match.
