"Now what?" Guy looked at Ray for a bit until turning his back on him

"I don't know" -Ray

Guy looked at Ray again before sighing and using a water spell aiming at Ramiris and Milim.

"Ahh! Help who's there?" Ramiris screamed.

"We are." Ray said, "And who are you?" Ramiris inquired while Milim stayed silent.

"I'm Ray" "I'm Guy Crimson" Ramiris looked somewhat baffled, she has some memories of her progenitor but most of them are really unclear.

"And who's that pink-haired Girl," she said flying up and pointing at Milim. Ray just shrugs his shoulders and Guy answers "She's the daughter of an old friend and a strong fighter."

"My name is Milim" Milim adds, still being emotionally devastated by all the loved ones she lost.

"Oh so you can talk, but what are you all doing here!?" Nobody began to explain so Ray went first. "Well, I'm just a trespasser that got involved in this matter."

Guy furiously glares at Ray "Trespasser my a*s. *Sigh* Anyways, I was here to test out my new powers as a demon lord and to stop Milim here from destroying... everything."

And like that the first Walpurgis was held, well it would be more accurate to call it three people trying to cheer up a child with powers on the level of an atomic bomb.

At some point Guy brought tea and so the days passed, all four were immortal so it didn't matter to them if it took a few days or so to cure Milim's sadness.

In the end, a lot of tea was drunk and the four promised to meet up whenever one of them needed to. Guy even created special communication rings, but overall Walpurgis still has a long way to go from what it will be, it doesn't even have a name yet.

But each participant has made a promise to each other, something that will differentiate them from the other demon lords.

Ray will watch over the river of time.

And of course, Ray was asked about his relationship with the Eastern Empire, he just answered 'I just joined to gain power, after obtaining it, the empire can rot in a hole for all I care, the only thing I want is survival of humanity as a race, not just one of its empire's.'

What he said is true in its entirety, even in his past life, the nation or country wasn't important to him, no it was humanity that he cared for and loved.

Anyways, the first ever Walpurgis was over after a week and all the demon lords decided to go back to their respective territories, Guy went home to the northern continent, Ramiris flew to the dwelling of spirits, her former incarnations home, to check up on all the people that would miss her Milim decided to travel around the world and Ray went back to the eastern empire to do more research on whatever he wanted.

On the outside of the giant wasteland created by Milim and Guy's battle, a tiny camp was set up, occupied by a frail brown haired human and a wolf.

The wolf is rolled up and waits in silence while the human sits in front of a bonfire cooking something equivalent to this world's military rations.

Bith the wolf and the human have hopeful looks on their faces, their master/ superior is alive and they have evidence for it, the wolf evolved a few days ago meaning its master must've become stronger as well, just now they are loyally waiting for his return.

"I'm back" and just like this said man appeared out of nowhere.

"Welcome back master!" Cynus screamed happily shaking his tail.

"Hello Mr. Duke" the small human scientists proclaimed as he stood up and shook Ray's hand.

"Hello Cynus, Yuji, make yourselves ready we'll depart in ten minutes" After saying this Ray sat down on one of his threads placed mid-air.

"Now Cynus could you please tell me what skills you gained when evolving?"

"YES, MASTER! I got a rare skill called [Timehop], that allows me to switch positions with myself from the past or future, in a range of ten seconds. But the eyesight on one of my eyes got worse." After that statement was made, Ray looked into Cynus' right eye and found small gears turning in his slit pupil, almost invisible, without [Temporal Awarness].

"Ok it shouldn't be a problem in battle so for now we can ignore it and simply label it as a trait of your evolution. Yuji are you not ready yet?"

The small scientist quickly assembles everything and puts it on the carriage near the camp until screaming "Everything is ready Sir."

A giant town filled with humans wearing white coats could be seen in the distance from the carriage Ray was sitting in. Bright lights shined throughout the night illuminating the craters and trees surrounding the town.

It took Cynus three weeks to drag the carriage here and a small Walpurgis was held during that time to help Milim out with finding a place to stay. The discussion quickly ended after Ray recommended taking the Kingdom of Soma under control and establishing her home there.

After that, all four drank tea and discussed random things until evening when they parted ways once again. Milim also became more like the girl from the anime/manga but the trauma from losing her loved ones is still there, poor thing.

Back to the three week long journey.

Ray could've simply teleported Cynus, Yuji, and himself here with timeline manipulation but Ray wanted to enjoy himself during the trip.

If he rushes everything he does then he would bore himself to death for the next two thousand years so he decided to become more laid back.

It was a great tour overall but Ray wasn't accustomed to wasting time with fun activities and such, a bad habit from his old life, and as with every habit, it dies hard.

When Ray and his subordinates entered the small researching town they got greeted with a feast and many scientists partying

Before entering though, Ray used illusion magic he learned from demons to conceal his eyes and make himself more normal, to look like he was before.

He then entered the town coupled with his companions and asked around why they had this party. Ray learned that they celebrated his return and them being able to get to work once again, seems like those scientists are workaholics just like Ray in his previous life. But before the party could start the scientists wanted Ray to give a speech.

"I may be bad with words, nevertheless I want to thank you for your fantastic work during these past two years, I know that many of you have made sacrifices for this job, some small, some big... but one thing is clear, We symbolize humanity's hope, soldiers fight for petty nobles, mercenaries fight for money, WE fight for humankind's evolution!

Still standing on the podium elevating Ray from the scientists around him he speaks once again "Special thanks to you Yuji, without your help all of this couldn't be possible and for your great services, I want to award you the position of marquis! Now come up here and let the feast begin."

[Chapters have been really short lately, I don't know why exactly but I'll try to get my usual 2000~ once again soon.

PS: Do you like where this is going? I'm basically trying to create a character that comes off as cold and calculated and then over time becomes somebody like Satoru (from Jujutsu K.) meaning he makes really bad jokes until he meets people he doesn't like and then becomes really cold once again.
