Chapter 19: Threat

Sienna said with an urgency in her tone, "Did you just say Call of the Stars?"

Lucas nodded. Sienna said, "Tell me everything."

He then proceeded to tell her everything that he had told Mina. He also told her his theory of awakening two Innate Talents. 

Sienna said, "This teacher of yours, what is her name?

Lucas replied, "Mina Bloodthorne."

Sienna asked, "And she told you that she knows other people who have experienced the Call of the Stars?"

Lucas replied, "Yeah, that is what she said. She also told me how famous you were."

Sienna said, "We'll talk about my fame later. Right now, you go to your room and eat your food."

Lucas nodded in response. He picked his plate up and went to his room. 

Once he was gone, Sienna looked at her mother and said, "I'll be back."

Mrs Z asked, "Where are you going?"

Sienna just said, "I'll be back soon."

Then she left the house. 

Meanwhile, in Mina's office. 

Mina had started writing the paper on the Call of the Stars when she suddenly started having trouble breathing. Someone was choking her. She tried to escape but the hands choking her were like a bench vice. She heard a woman's icy voice, "Who sent you?"

The voice contained enough killing intent to send chills down her spine. 

The icy voice continued, "Was it them? Did they send you? How did they find me?"

Mina couldn't understand what the voice meant. And even if she did, she wasn't in a situation where she could speak. 

Then Mina heard another voice, "Sienna, she can't answer because you're choking her."

Sienna? Lucas's mother? Why was she here? Before Mina could contemplate she felt the hands around her throat loosen. She saw the new guest was none other than the Dean of the Academy, Sylvia . 

Sienna said, "What are you doing here?

Sylvia chuckled and said, "Shouldn't I be the one asking that question? Imagine how surprised I was when I sensed killing intent on my Academy. So I just had to come and check."

Sienna said, "Now that you've checked, leave."

The smile on Sylvia 's face disappeared as she said, "Don't think that you can do anything just because I'm being nice. Now stop threatening a teacher in my Academy."

Sienna asked, "Or what?"

Sylvia replied, "Or I'll have no choice but to exercise my authority as the City Lord and deem you as a dangerous individual. But I don't want to do that. So, let's talk instead."

Sienna said, Oh you wanna talk? Sure, why don't we talk about this woman being a spy for them?"

Sylvia asked, "For who?"

Sienna replied, "That's none of your concern. What matters is that she lied to my son. There is no way someone like her who has never even left this planet knows people who have experienced the Call of the Stars."

Sylvia asked with displeasure evident in her tone, "Mina, is it true? Did you lie to Lucas?"

Mina knew that these women would kill her if they sensed even a hint of lies in her words so she decided not to speak at all and just nodded.

Sylvia asked, "Why?"

Mina replied, "Because it is so rare that I've only read about it in legends."

Sienna said, "That doesn't give you the right to lie to my son. If I see a paper about it, I will kill you."

Sylvia said, "Let's ease up a bit, Sienna. It's just a paper. We'll ask Lucas if he wants to participate."

Sienna said, "Then you wouldn't mind if I wrote a paper on the Call of the Moon Chaser, better yet, I should write a paper on the Call of the Luna's Chosen. Since Derek uses Von Stryker, he is a direct descendant so it would make much more sense. Of course I will ask for his permission. You would like that, wouldn't you?"

Sylvia remained silent. 

Sienna said, "That's what I thought. You should have made an alias for him or at least removed the 'Von'."

Then she looked at Mina and said, "You better forget anything related to the Call of the Stars or I will ensure that you don't become a problem."

Sylvia looked at Mina and said, "You're fired."

Mina stuttered, "What–?"

Before she could finish her sentence, a Grimoire appeared in Sylvia 's hand and a dreamy butterfly emerged from it. 

Sylvia said, "Nessie, you know what to do."

The butterfly fluttered above her head before it flew over to Mina and covered her in its scales. Mina's eyes became blank for a second and then she passed out.

Then the butterfly returned to the Grimoire and the Grimoire disappeared. 

Sylvia left in a hurry and rushed to her office. 

Her aide and assistant, Beth, asked, "Is everything alright?"

Sylvia said, "No. I want everything you can find on Sienna Zenith. Now."

Beth understood that something was very wrong. She logged into her Federation account and pulled Sienna's records. She went through them to find any irregularities but found nothing. 

She said, "It's pretty standard stuff if you don't count her being talented."

Sylvia said, "Tell me."

Beth said, "Only child of Alexander and Rubia Zenith, a mid wealthy family. Apparently the Zenith bloodline arrived here shortly after the City was established and has been here since. So even if they are not that wealthy, they have a lot of connections.

Her Innate Talent is Coalescence, something that has been passed down in their bloodline for a long time. Now one thing that does stand out is that she was accepted in one of the Five Great Beast Taming Universities but it doesn't say which. She came back to Red Leaf City about ten years ago, when she was pregnant with Lucas. We have no information on the father.

But why are you so riled up? What happened?"

Sylvia said, "Beth, she knows about Derek. She knows the meaning of the Von Stryker name. Dig deeper. I wanna know what happened on the Home Star."

Beth replied, "On it."
