Regin (part 2)

As they all continued heading north. They all noticed the sound of a hammer hitting metal getting louder and louder with each step they take. Some of them couldn't handle the sound, while others could resist it.

"Ugh! What is that sound!?" Dwight asks while covering its ears.

"That's got to be Regin!! His probably working on something!!" Dennis mentions while covering its ears. As they all kept going. They noticed a mountain on along their path. On top of it, they saw a floating island that had a ray of light shining down on it.

"Is that the place!?" Dj asks. He was perfectly fine with the hammering sound while he turned back. He saw Donte and Owen covering their ears.

"Yeap! That's the place! Regin is up there waiting!" Dennis told Dj, answering his question. Suddenly, they all then stopped hearing the sound of a hammer. Everyone looked up and saw the ray of light fade away, and return as if it was created with darkness. It caused Dennis to get worried and felt that something was wrong.

"That can't be right... Gods shouldn't be able to create this kind of thing. Only a fallen god can." Dennis says out loud. Spike then walks up to Dennis and pulls him down by his left shoulder.

"The heck you talking about?!" Spike asks Dennis. He then notices a death stare on him and quickly lets him go.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. It's only a matter of time before it's too late." Dennis says to Spike and starts pondering to himself on what their approach should be. Dwight then approaches Spike and asks him a question.

"Um... If I may ask. What are you two talking about?" Dwight says. Spike turned over to Dwight and was trying to find a simple way to explain it, but Dennis turned around and called out his weapon.

"We don't have the time for that." Dennis then points at the ray of darkness as it grows. "We attack and stop the gate from opening. If this place gets over run. It will destroy our world and the other one before we can identify Ragnarok." Dennis then created a portal that should take them to the location. With no words to be said by anyone. They all went through the portal and found themselves in a plateau that seemed to be destroyed while the gate of darkness was right in their eyes. Regin was nowhere to be seen, and it made them wonder what happened.

"Wait a minute. I recall this place..." Dj says and goes ahead from the rest of the group. "Dennis, check your book. This place is supposed to be a holding right for ceremonies." Dennis then brings out his book from thin air and looks for it. While he was looking. He felt a disturbing force growing from the gate of darkness.

"Found it... Page 42, this is the plateau of ascending... Wait a minute, this can't be right... This place was technically destroyed..." Dennis said. He then closed the book and saw something coming from the gate while his friends examined the surrounding area. Dj was the only one away from the group and was getting close to the gate. Dennis then noticed that something wasn't right, and his senses kicked in. "Nobody makes any sudden moves!!" He said. Warning his friends from danger. They all looked at him and wondered what was going on.

"What are you talking about, Dennis? There's no one here except for us." Spike said to Dennis, but he had a better look at him and saw that his friend was nervous. "Dude, you okay?" Spike said. He then took a step towards Dennis and he got by an unknown attack that caused an explosion.

"Spike!!" Dennis screamed. He called out his weapon and took a swing at the smoke to clear it away. Once it got cleared, Dennis saw his friend passed out on the ground. He picked his friend up and tried to get a response from him. "Hey... Spike... Answers me... Spike..." but he did not respond to Dennis at all. Then he looked over by the gate of darkness and saw Regin covered by a dark aura. No one else could see him except for him.

"So... Only you can see me? Then that just makes thing easier for me..." Regin said. He then was walking towards Dj. The only person close to the gate. Dennis then tried to scream out his friend's name, but everything was silent. Dennis placed Spike on the ground and attempted to help Dj, but he wasn't quick enough. Regin immediately created a sphere of concentrated energy and detonated in Dj's chest. Dj then fell down on his knees and was in a lot of pain.

"You bastard!!!" Dennis shouted. With one hard step, Dennis quickly vanished, reappeared in front of Regin, and punched him straight in the face. Pushing Regin away from Dj. ¨Guys!! Grab Spike and Dj and get out of here!! I'll buy enough time to escape!¨

Owen, Dwight, and Donte heard Dennis and immediately responded with a no. They regrouped with Dennis with their weapons out, getting ready for a fight. Regin then revealed itself to the rest, and the only thing he could do was give a smile.

"Scatter!!" Dennis shouted. He and Owen went to their right, while Donte and Dwight went to their left. Then an explosion occurred in the same spot they stood before they moved. Dennis foresaw the attack, allowing him to warn his friends in time, but it was a matter of time before one of them get hit.

"A lucky guess... But you won't escape the next one." Regin states. He then uses his left hand and creates an improved armored soldier. "Now if you excuse me, I got business to attend in the other world..." Regin then goes back into the gate and leaves. Leaving behind one of his creations.

"That coward! We need to go after him!" Dwight says out loud. He then tried to chase Regin, but his creation stands in his way. He got furious and took a swing at the armored soldier, but it was not effective. Dwight took a step back to think of a different approach. Dennis then took a step forward, launching himself past Dwight and straight at the enemy. He tackled the armored soldier and pushed it into the gate, but before that. Dennis pulled out the star, and it glowed as a light red and threw it at his friends.

"Dennis!! What are you doing?!" Dwight asks. He tried to go after his friend, but his body wouldn't let him. Dennis then looks back with a sadden expression. "I'm getting you guys out of here! Tell Yen that I'm sorry, and that I'll make it up to him when I get back!!"

As Dennis says his farewell to his friends. He gets grabbed by the armored soldier and ends up pulled into the gate. Dennis didn't regret his decision. The only thing he regretted was letting his friends get injured during this situation. When Dennis was dragged into the gate, his friends got sent back to the house.

Back at the house, Dwight ended up by the front door. Spike ended up on the large sofa. Dj was on the table while Owen and Donte ended up in the kitchen and saw Mora and Lota preparing tea.

"Where did you two come from?" Mora asked after seeing Owen and Donte with a dream expression. Donte didn't have the courage to speak, but Owen stepped up to explain.

"I don't know from where we came from, but we just lost Dennis..."

"My brother is gone?!" Lota asks. She then gets frantic and starts moving around. After hearing Owen, Mora then walks up to Owen and grabs him by the collar. Demanding for the location of Dennis, but he wasn't sure of what place he ended up.

"Damn it all!! We need to get him back quickly!" Mora says to Owen and walks out of the kitchen to find Dj and Spike laying down. "The actual hell man! What in the world happened?!" she asks, while turning around to put her attention on Owen.

"Don't look at me if I was the blame. Dennis mentioned about a guy or God's names Regin. He was the one that did all this!" Owen says to Mora. She doubts what Owen said and quickly took a deep breath and punched the nearest wall. Then she exhaled after leaving a hole in the wall.

"I'm going to find him. You guys better leave. I'll give you guys a call if I find something."

After that, Mora leaves the house in search of Dennis. Moments later. Dj and Spike wake up to find themselves in the lab. The first one to get up was Dj and saw Nix working on something on the computer while Obliviona destroyed the door into the simulation.

"What's going on?" Dj asks. The only person who noticed him was Nix.

"Oh hey Dj, you're finally awake."

"Yeah... How long I was out for?"

"For about an hour or two... You got hit pretty hard in the chest..." As Nix mentions Dj's injury. He looked at his chest and saw that he was covered with bandages.

"Well... So much for that... Have you guys seen Dennis?" As Dj asks. It catches the attention of Obliviona. She turns around with disappointment and looks at Dj.

"His not here, yet his alive. Your friends are searching for him as we speak on the ship." Obliviona says. She then walks out to try getting some air. After Spike got out of the bed and was having a hard time to move.

"Dude, careful. You need to rest." Dj says to Spike, but Spike then grin his teeth and started to lash out at his friend.

"How can I rest while our best friend risk himself getting captured for our safety!?! You were standing right in front of the thing and you did nothing!!"

Dj didn't talk back. Once Spike was done. He walked out in silence with regret following on his back.

"Dennis... I hope you find a way back... Before everyone loses hope..."

Meanwhile, in an unknown place. Dennis was sitting down on the body of the armored soldier in the middle of the meadow in the moonlight sky.
