Chapter 1: Gao Yan
"Grahhhh" Ji Yixue screamed out loud as she was birthing her second child, Gao Dongguo who was outside the hospital room kept ahold of his son Gao Peng, they had both been sitting outside the room for 2 hours now and the screams of their wife/mother hadn't been lessening and rather had been increasing.
"Is mom going to be okay?" Gao Peng looked up towards his father in worry of his mother, she had been experiencing the pain of pregnancy for a while and now she was experiencing the pain of childbirth once again, even then there was a visible excitement on his face, he was going to be a big brother.
"Of course she'll be, you know how strong she's always been? Remember that one time when your grandfather was asking her to keep some money so that she could raise you? I still can't believe the face of your grandfather when Ji Yixue shouted in front of the entire family "Keep your goddamn money, I don't need it, we don't need it, if your going to pity someone pity your ancestors because I'm going to be independent from this family" hahaha" Gao Dongguo said as his voice turned into an imitation of what his wife had sounded like during the previous New Year's party and began to laugh as he remember.
"Haha yeah, and then uncle Ji Won started to laugh and then then and then..." Gao Peng kept on explaining that day, even ignoring the sounds of pain from his mother in the room had finally stopped.
Gao Dongguo however had been listening for the moment his wife had stopped, however as the doctor's hushed whispers began to sound his worries grew 'Is something wrong with Ji Yixue or Gao Yan? -They had decided to name him that after the second trimester, however they kept it a secret from Gao Peng and the other family as to have a reveal party- We really can't afford much health care at this point, Ji Yixue why do you have to be so stubborn as to deny the help of your father when were in trouble' Gao Dongguo's eyes grew solemn even then the smile on his face remained, he had to stay strong for his family.
"Wahh" the sounds of a baby crying began to emit from the hospital room as a sense of relief washed over the father of two, "Sigh, Peng, it seems we have to wrap up this conversation, You're about to meet your younger brother" Gao Dongguo interrupted the boys retelling of the various holidays and family gatherings they had been through.
"Really? What's his name? Is it Gao Due? Gao Mi? Gao Mao? I think you should've named him Gao Bing, it sounds nice doesn't it" Gao Peng began to ramble on as Gao Dongguo grinned the boys hand as a nurse walked into the hallway and next to the father and son who was sitting on a bench that lined the walls.
"Your wife is safe, and your son right now is undergoing tests at pathology as to make sure everything is okay and healthy, however as of now there have been no issues regarding the birth and you will be able to see him in a moment after we get him cleansed from the afterbirth" The nurse sent the both of them reassuring smiles, turned her back and slowly lead the two into the hospital room which was beginning to clear from nurses and doctors.
The two of them walked over to Ji Yixue as Gao Dongguo grasped her hand which was covered in sweat alongside her face causing her hair to stick on her head "Never again, nope never again, I'm not getting pregnant or giving birth, this'll be our last" She talked to Gao Dongguo in a rebellious tone.
"Of course, I think two children is just enough? With our house he'll fit perfectly" Gao Dongguo affirmed his wife's decisions
"Well, here's your baby, born August 8th 20XX at 7:30pm" A nurse said as she walked in with the new family member in a grip, she walked towards the couple and gently placed the baby towards the smiling trio: Gao Peng's had been immediately turned excited as he looked at his tiny little Brother 'Why is he so small? Is he okay? Was I that small, No I couldn't have been, I the great Gao Peng could never be tiny' he thought as his worries were gradually worn out by his thoughts, Gao Dongguo and Ji Yixue smiles widened further as Ji Yixue gently caressed the baby after he was handed towards her.
"What's his name? What's his name ma?" Gao Peng questioned the both of them, breaking the serene atmosphere they had made.
"Gao Yan, that's his name, he'll definitely be the envy of many in future" Gao Dongguo explained to the incessant Gao Peng.
"That's why you'll have to protect him, Can you do that for your baby brother?" Ji Yixue, smiled though her eyes carried a sadness and a secret as to save them from sadness as she had been through when she learnt of it, however the secret she would keep would eventually be revealed.
Gao Dongguo seeing her encouragement towards Gao Peng smiled, however his smile strained as he saw the expression that was on his wife's face "Yiyi? Are you okay? Your face is a bit pale?" Gao Dongguo asked using her nickname he had given her in highschool.
"Yes of course just a little tired, however a little bit of exhaustion couldn't ever stop the great Ji Yixue" She smiled wider and cracked a joke causing the family and some of the nurses in the room who were making sure that she was properly healthy.
"You should get some sleep Mrs. Ji, you definitely need it '' One of the nurses replied to her as she hooked up an IV into the woman.
"Yeah maybe in a bit, *Haa* I think Xiao Yan is getting a bit hungry" Ji Yixue replied back yawning in the process, ( Author note: Putting Xiao and replacing the family name is some sort of nick name, it's basically calling them Little *Name*, I don't know why but it's whatever and every novel does it Soo )
As if reading the future, Gao Yan began to wait however was cut short by Ji Yixue who had begun to breastfeed the boy. After which, Ji Yixue began to fall asleep not before handing Yan to one of the nurses who then positioned him next to her in a crib.
"Well, time to leave now, your wife/mother needs rest and you should get some two, it's pretty late" the nurse said to the two males and began to shoo them out of the room which caused them to smile.
"Daddy, how are babies made?" Gao Peng asked his father after they were escorted out of the room.
"I think that's a conversation you should ask your mother" Gao Dongguo said completely deflecting the awkward question his son sent him, just as Gao Peng was going to ask "Why" a cell phone began to ring from Gao Dongguo front pocket "Give me a second Peng, I need to answer your grandfather's call" Gao Dongguo shut down that thought process of Gao Peng.
"Is Ji Yixue okay? Is the baby okay?" Ji Hanwu asked in a flurry of questions obviously worrying about the status of his daughter and granddaughter.
"Of course, you know Ji Yixue, your grandchild's name is Gao Yan" Gao Dongguo replied back in happiness, "However I think there's something she's hiding from me about Yan, I'll try and call you if I learn of it we might need your help in the future even if she doesn't know it" Gao Dongguo's voice had become solemn remembering the face his wife had made earlier.
"Got it, I'll try and research it, have a fun time taking care of another baby" Ji Hanwu's voice sounded over the speaker as he hung up, worried about the secret that his son-in-law had pulled up on his daughter.
*Beep* a small speaker rang through his office building as the businessman and owner of the Southern Sky Group called in his secretary.
"Yes Mr. Ji? Is there something you need?" The secretary entered his office without a moment's notice.
"Yes, my second grandchild was born, and my daughter is hiding something about him, I want to find out, I don't care if you have to hire or bribe doctors and nurses, hack into the health records or anything, just let me know, his name is Gao Yan" Ji Hanwu asked in a cold voice trying his best to keep his poker face even in the face of his most trusted employees.
"Of course sir" the secretary quickly left the office and began making calls towards the information gathering department, research and development department alongside the It department as to gain the information on "Gao Yan" who is the grandchild of Ji Hanwu and son of Ji Yixue and Gao Dongguo.
