MC POV :
It was Fireball. The most common spell ever seen. "How the heck is this skill Uncommon?" I asked out loud.
[Do you see normal people use Fireball spell in their daily life?]
"Ok, you got a point. Anyway, i guess it's a ok skill. It can be useful. Now i wonder where i am. I need to find out my location."
[Ding! New mission: Find out where you are. Reward : 100 Exp. Punishment for failure: Do not get to know where you are.]
"System, why is there a penalty? Didn't i ask to remove those?" I asked the system.
[Host, that's the natural consequence of your action. As you might have heard, Every action has it's consequences. Host requested for there to be no punishments from the system. So the system would not punish host for failure of quests. But host cannot escape the natural consequence of your actions.]
"Makes sense. Anyway let's find out where i am." I said as i started going towards the door.
As i exited the door, i started looking around. All i could see were ruined old building. There were hundreds of destroyed old buildings. It looked like I was in an abandoned city.
As I looked towards the sky, all I could see was dark clouds. There was nothing but dark dirty clouds. Even the air felt heavy.
After a few seconds, I started having difficulty breathing. And there was a sudden alert from the system.
[Ding! Warning! The host is breathing extremely polluted air. It is advised to return Inside the warehouse as it has fresh air or the host might die.]
Hearing that I quickly entered the warehouse and closed the door. This place looks like a post apocalyptic world. I don't remember There being a place like this in Overlord.
The Old world of Momonga was a Dystopian world, not Post apocalypse world. A world run by Mega corporation, where common populace is nothing more than slaves that work till their death.
Maybe it's just this area that's ruined. I might something If I go far. Though I don't like the idea of getting stuck in the Old World. But it might not be that bad.
Or maybe it's a part of the Game Yggdrasil. That Game had multiple world with hundreds of different biome. Maybe it's a ruined city biome in one of the worlds.
Me getting stuck in the game also doesn't sound pleasant. And it's certainly a possibility.
Or maybe this city is in the New world. A city made by a past player that fell to ruin. Maybe it's on sone Island that wasn't yet discovered in the light novel. Though that doesn't explain the dirty couldy polluted sky. So this most likely isn't the case.
Or maybe the ROB decided to through me in some other world instead of Overlord. This has a very likely chance to happen and I don't like it.
But all this thinking will be useless If I can't get out to actually find my current location.
[Host can buy an air purifying mask from the shop. With the mask you can breath fresh air in most environments]
"What's the price?"
[10 shop coins, Host]
"Buy it." I ordered. I needed that mask cause without it i am not gonna be able to go outside, which is bad.
[Ding! Successfully bought Air purifying mask. Host, the mask has been deposited in the inventory.]
"Thanks system. Anyway, System do you have a name? It's a hassle to call you System all the time. And you can also call me Vik."
[No Vik, I do not have a name. You can give me a name if you want.]
"How about Ava? It's simple but good" I asked as i didn't have any good names on mind. So i just suggested a simple name.
[Name accepted. Vik can call The system Ava from now on.]
'Now that it's out of the way, i can continue with my mission'. I thought. I then opened the inventory menu. It had a lot of empty squares with only the one on the top with the mask. I tried to scroll down to see if there was an inventory limit, but it just kept going. There was no end no matter how much i scrolled down. It truly was infinite. Nice.
There was also a search bar on the top. It would be helpful in the future when i have too many items stored in the inventory.
Taking out the mask and putting it on, i once again exited the warehouse. After exiting, i took a deep breath. I felt only fresh air. It seems the mask was working.
Now that i had no problems regarding the air, i went off to search for any information. I went inside a few destroyed buildings to see if there was anything useful inside. But couldn't find anything. Everything here was soo old, nothing was in a usable condition.
While roaming the streets, soon i stumbled upon a huge pile of scrap metal. It was big like a mountain, full of old junk. It was like a junkyard in the middle of the city. There i found an old signboard which was in pretty good condition compared to everything else here. It had Something written on it, but it was unclear. "I need to clean it a little if i want to see what's written in it.". I said out loud and pulled out my handkerchief.
Going near the old sign, i started cleaning it with my handkerchief. After clearing it a little, i could read what was on it. Akihabara. That was written on the board, with something else written in Japanese, which was probably just the same name in Japanese.
"Now this is troublesome." I thought out loud. If i was in Akihabara, that is in Tokyo, that means I am in Japan. Which means i am not in Overlord New world but in it's original world. Or maybe another world with Akihabara. But this atleast discards the other two options.
So I will put my faith in ROB and believe this is Akihabara from Momonga's Old World and not some random world ROB decided to through me in.
[Ding! Congratulations. The host has discovered his current location. 100 exp granted.]
[Level up]
Since Ava has confirmed it now, that it's Ainz Sama's original world. I don't know much about this world. The only things i know are, it's in the future, it is very polluted. You even have to wear special masks just to go outside and not die.
I need to get some more information about this world. But for that i need to find some place with people still living in it. But I am not going to do that for now. I don't want to go there only to die to some random mugger. I don't want to find out if a futuristic pocket knife can kill me or not. It's time to grind.
