Safe Inside, Safe Outside

As soon as I got up, I came across a wolf growling at me. *Grrrr*

"Don't you f*cking dare. I will chop you up if you come at me." I warned the grey-furred beast with my lightsaber.

But did the wolf choose to listen? No. It pounced right at me, in an attempt to attack me. I swiftly dragged my orange lightsaber across the middle of its body, cutting it cleanly into two.

Huh. That was fairly easy. Why didn't I see these creatures in the night?

As the sparkles appeared and the wolf vanished, a large, rectangular shield made of bones appeared.

Perfect. I could make use of this against the dullahan. But did I level up yet?

Ho ho! Two levels up, huh. Wait... MP? I can use magic?! But how? How am I supposed to make use of this? Should I just imagine it and wait for something to happen? Or am I supposed to voice it out?

Extending my arm towards a tree, I closed my eyes and thought of a water ball. Then, I shouted it out, "WATER! WATER! WATER BALL! H2O! AQUA!" And... nothing. Maybe I don't have an affinity towards some elements.

Trying the same routine with earth, air and fire, finally, I had a stroke of luck. The tree ahead of me was lit on fire, and upon checking my status, I had only used half of my MP.

Hmm. Not bad. I should've known I could use magic out here.

I lifted the bone shield up in my left hand, and continued strolling across the forest, in hopes of more easy encounters.

And immediately after, the howling began. A pack of wolves made their way over to me. Fiends with creepy yellow eyes. "Haah... Why is it so hard to survive here...?"

And so, I did the one thing I was good at. I ran the f*ck away. I knew I couldn't outrun the wolves, but I had a plan in mind. The wolves were about a hundred in number, so I was running towards the dungeon, to face less of them at a time.

Running into the dungeon, I twirled back at the wolves, ready to face them. I held the shield firmly, waiting for them to enter.

But lo and behold! The wolves couldn't enter inside.

"Hehehe...", I chuckled, as a merciless idea unfolded in my mind. I stood at the edge of the entrance, dropping the shield, waving my lightsaber across the pack while still inside the dungeon.

With each row of wolves dying and disappearing, another row stepped forward, trying to break the dungeon wall. By the end of the massacre, another pop-up appeared.

<Title obtained: Wolf Killer>

<Description: 50% XP gain when killing wolves, fenrirs and dogs.>

Waving my hand across the screen to make it disappear, I saw the abundance of drop items ahead of me. "Free Loot!", I shouted.

Ah... It's the little things that make me happy.

As I walked out of the dungeon, I found a small, brown, leather sack, a blue bandana, multiple wolf hides, twelve brown leather boots, the head of a wolf, seven grey fur gloves, and a plain black leather mask with holes for eyes and nostrils.

I kept my lightsaber to the side, and analyzed the drop items. 'I could construct a suit out of this to roam in the human village, but I don't have a way to sew all this material together.', I thought.

Wearing the boots with a sigh of relief, I lay on the ground. A momentary rest in the fluffiness of the wolf hides.

'Wait... I can feel stuff now?'

Woah... that's a lotta progress for a day. My species and rank changed, increasing my HP and MP. But...

"Why don't you inform me about this stuff?! This could be life or death, you know?!", I screamed at the system.

Keeping that aside, I found a way to level up easily. I could make use of this dungeon entrance rule and bring more wolves here for the slaughter. I could also lure the mosquitoes here and kill them from the outside.

'But what do I do of the drop items?', as the thought crossed my mind, I got back up on my feet, and lifted the mask from the ground.

Placing it on my face, I tied the string across my skull. I took the wolf head and placed it on top my head. Then, I tied the blue bandana from the top of my head to my chin, firmly tightening the wolf head to my skull. I wore one of the fur gloves. With this, my head, my feet, and my hands were well-covered.

I ripped apart the leather shoes, opening the tiny strings and the pieces of leather. Placing the leather from the shoes across my forearms, and then tying them with the strings, I had successfully prepared a basic armor for my body.

I took two of the hides and wrapped them around my neck like a scarf. They covered most of my chest, but were slightly uncomfortable to wear. Lastly, I put the string of the leather sack across my left shoulder and placed the wolf teeth in it.

Now, I had to find a place to store the remaining items for the future.
