Chapter 4

By : BigToFu

It was mid-September now, and classes were going pretty good for me. Though I will be honest, I wasn't pleased with the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. I knew that it was only a plow with the whole stuttering bullshit, but damn did I want him dead and gone already.

It was stutter stutter stutter in class and the halls, and I was losing my patients with the man fast. Not only that, but I was also losing my patients with not being able to go to the ROR. It was clear to see that the library's selections were as sanitized as Dumbledore could make it without alerting the Noble houses.

So far, the classes I liked the most were, Charms, Transfiguration and Astronomy, but that was only because Aurora Sinistra was damn fine. I don't know why she was working here, but Aurora was a wizard's wet dream walking. She had a bust line like Susan and lavender that clearly defined gravity and logic, then paired with those hips she had legs for days. I'm honestly amazed that I haven't heard anything about any of the upperclassmen getting into her pants.

Then again, she was more infatuated with her telescopes and the stars than she was with people. At my side, the poke drew me back to reality in time to see the bat himself walking towards me. Holding in my huff of frustration, I tried to ignore Snape as he attempted to loom over the Puffs.

Setting my ladle to stir, I checked my wrist and noticed that we had twenty minutes left in class. Unfortunately, I had a flash of anger as Nym spilled extra ash of a birch tree into the cauldron. Before I could fix the issue, Snape vanished our potion with a nasty sneer on his face.

"That will be a failure for the day Mr. Mustang; maybe next time you should pick your partner wisely," Snape said, voice low and soft as if the act of speaking to us was beneath him to exert any effort.

The worst part about it was two-fold, one was because he was right. For some reason, Nym had the worst balance I have ever seen in a person. The worst part is I can't blame it on her morphing abilities, she's just clumsy. The second part of it was that the man had it out for me once classes started up and I could only think of one reason why. That little fucker Malfoy squealed like the little bitch he was, and Snape was getting vengeance as any good Slytherin should.

It was my fault, but I was sure I was going to have the last laugh. It was easy for me to because I was already making plans to kill him and all his little death eater buddies. It took some time to look up sympathetic magic in the library because it was integral to many magics. Well, it wasn't called that since a lot of magic called it by so many different names, but I knew better.

I couldn't glare at the man because I didn't want him to knock and test my mental barriers. So for now I could only glare down at my failure of a potion. The hand that touched my shoulder stopped the growl that was forming at the back of my throat. I was going to get rid of Snape, I was certain of it. Failure was not an option and I wanted him dead.

It didn't even matter that these grades didn't count; Snape himself was a disruption to learning. And that was one thing that felt sacrilege beyond everything else he had done. The bell rang and I never looked at him to see the smug smirk on his face. With a wave of my wand, Nym and my pack filled itself with our potions ingredients.

Bags packed, I pulled Nym behind me as I barreled through those in my way in an effort to get out of the dungeons. Before I knew it, I was opening the door to the Raven's Nest and made a beeline for the couch. On the way, I had forgotten that I was still pulling Nym by her hands, and we had three people following behind.

The moment I knew I fucked up was when I tossed my pack on one of the free couches before laying down face first. It was the clearing of the throat after a time that had me look up and recognize my mistake.

"Shit."

"Yeah, shit, what's this place?" Sue asked, putting her own bag down in a seat next to Hannah. Of course, it would be the moment that I act like a petulant teenager that things fuck up for me. Rolling over to my back, I had a moment of pause as I saw the description on the ceiling. Then before anyone could ask me what I was looking at, I sat upwards.

"I found this place while I was out exploring, I call it the Raven's Nest." I replied easily and I could see Willow looking around with Nym. Sighing, I got up from my couch and started the tour. It was pretty simple and straightforward, ladies and mens bathrooms, then the arena that was clearly for dueling.

Nym and Sue instantly took to the arena while I went back to relax on the couches. Hannah stayed to watch Nym and Sue while Willow picked a couch of her own. Ignoring those intruding in my solitude, I leaned back onto the couch and looked up at the ceiling.

The ceiling read : Only those with clear thoughts and walking thrice shall the way become obtainable. Those words had so many implications that I had to not think about the one room that I wanted.

"So how did you make it past the notice me not charm on the corridor?" Willow asked, a book held high blocking me from seeing her face.

"Notice me not?" I couldn't help but to ask since I wasn't affected by such a thing. Hmm, that heir thing might have some merit then, but I will have to check that later.

"Yes, I noticed that if I wasn't close to you I suddenly wanted to leave this floor."

Conjuring a pillow and putting it behind my head. I rested while levitating a book in front of my face. "Hmm, didn't notice one, well, I'll have to figure that out, but not today."

I heard the snort from Willow and noticed the look she gave me while I read from the floating book. We were like this for another hour before the girls came up from the arena clearly sweating. Ignoring them, I kept reading my book.

Before I could turn the page and read the follow up on permanent enchantments, I received a smack on my thigh. One, two, three smacks to the thigh before I had to catch my book from falling and smacking me in the face. Sitting up, I rolled my eyes as Nym placed herself in my lap. Sue gave us a raised brow before taking the spot right beside us. Signing to myself, I ignored the bounce of those massive perky tits of hers; bloody robes still couldn't hide them.

Since Nym decided to put herself in my lap, I had to levitate the book I was reading to float before us. Unfortunately, I wasn't going to be able to get any reading done today. Instead of reading my book or asking me about it, Nym forced the book down onto the table before us. Then she straddled my lap tilted my chin upwards before kissing me.

Damn, she took my breath away as her tongue slithered it's way into my mouth and halfway down my throat. The kiss was hot, steamy, sloppy but sexy as fuck and now I had a boner. A boner which was poking upwards and wedge between her ass cheeks.

Our lips separated, and Nym released a sigh as our foreheads touched. "Sorry." I heard her whisper.

Tilting my head to the side, I had to ask, "Sorry for what?"

Nym looked at me with large doe eyes, her frame shrinking a little due to her powers. "For potions, for Snape, if you didn't pick me as your partner, then you wouldn't have failed."

Sighing, I leaned back before 'boop' her on the nose lightly, "Grades come and go, and I'm sorry for letting Snape get under my skin and dragging you halfway across the school."

There was a very unladylike snort at the side and I turned to catch a stink eye from Susan.

"Never thought I would see the day a Ravenclaw would say grades don't matter."

Shrugging, I let Nym curl up into my chest before throwing my arms over the couch, I noticed how Sue didn't shy away. Calling that a win, I decided to think up something to bribe my brother with, I am a magical genius after all and I had a few mad ideas floating around my head. From the schedule, I knew that the flying classes would be soon and that Harry would make it on the Griffs house team.

I of course had my own tryouts, but I think I at least think I have that under control. I meant to either discover or create a bit of ocular magic before the Ravenclaws tryouts. I'll be honest with myself and say that I might not need it but then again, certain things were like condoms. It was better to have one and not need it than to not have one and need it.

Shaking away those thoughts, I settled for a straightforward plan and then thought up a way to get music to work here.

Urgh, some Guns and Roses would be excellent right now.

=\*/=

Today was Saturday, and a few days ago Harry had performed damn spectacularly during our first class in learning how to fly. Right now I was at breakfast waiting for my brother's letter with the morning mail. Of course, I had waited for a time I could break canon since, fuck canon. I knew how I was going to proceed into the future and Harry was that key.

I noticed that Goth Hermione was part of the group and Ron was, well still Ron. That was a situation I didn't want to touch with a ten-foot pole, to be honest. Hermione from what I could tell from our interactions, was more introverted and like her books while being a lot less of a brown noser. I was already of half a mind to invite her to the Ravens Nest.

One of the only reasons I haven't invited either of them was the third hanger. Although, if everything went correctly tonight, Ron might get the boot and Neville might get into the group. Right now though, Harry was off by himself in a corner studying, looking around, I noticed Neville Longbottom coming down the halfway.

That was good because it took some bribing to get Hannah and Susan to have him walk this way. It was already clear that Hannah was sweet on the shy guy, so I would at least set them up this evening. Deciding on a quick plan, I cast a slight charm on Neville so he could notice us as I walked up to Harry.

Hitting the wall next to Harry, I raised an eyebrow at him, "Yo!"

"Hi?" Harry asked, confusion clear on his features.

"Heard you made the Griffs quidditch team, so thought you might want to celebrate with me and my brother," I replied with a shrug at him, dangling such fresh bait. I should feel bad, but I think it would even the scales some with what I had planned.

"Your brother attends Hogwarts?"

"Nah, he is waiting at the three broomsticks, was planning to sneak out," I replied smoothly.

"He, he, hey Harry." Came a trembling voice from the side. Turning, I noticed that my charm had done its magic. Pun totally intended, of course.

Looking at the pudgy kid that still had his baby fat, I gave the best roguish grin I could. "Sup, Nev, wanna join us?"

Neville had a nervous stutter, but he pushed through, Griff all the way."Joi, join you?"

Shrugging, I replied smoothly as if it was any other day. "Yeah, I was gonna sneak out to meet my brother at the three broomsticks with Harry."

"Heard, he, he, he, plays for Brazil," Neville replied with a smile.

"Yeah, and he came back when I told him about trying out for the Raven's. So coming with me and Harry?"

"Hey, I didn't say I was going to go," Harry replied with a frown.

"Ohh come on, my brother is a pro and it's the three broomsticks, have you seen the rack on Rosmerta?" I asked back with a fake dreamy smile on my face. "Unless you have classes with Dumbledore like the rumor mill says."

Harry looked confused as he grabbed his bag of books. "Why would they say that."

Neville looked a little scared but finally spoke up as I slowed down for him to walk at my side and not behind. Let's put him as a peer now and not treat him like an underling. "Everyone knows Dumbledore has been taking care of you, Harry."

"Yeah, he would always say he had ensured that you were safe and that he spared no expense." I replied with a shrug gleefully on the inside when I saw him scowl.

"That's a big fat LIE." Harry growled, the last part coming out very harshly. I could see that Neville was back in his shell.

"Yeah, well, you can't prove otherwise, So everyone is going to accept the great Dumbledore's words over yours," I replied with a shrug.

Harry stopped then looked at me hard. "Are you trying to cheer me up or piss me off?"

Shrugging, I told it like it was. "Just telling you like it is, the truth like the world, hurts. Now you can do something about it, or accept it."

He stood there glaring at me, but I didn't flinch. Bright green eyes or not, I knew I could take him, but what was most important. I had tickled his curiosity of where I was going with all this. It was clear that there was a spark of intelligence behind those bright green eyes of his.

Instead of storming off, Harry's curiosity got the better of him. "Come on, let's go get that butterbeer."

Smiling at Neville, I dragged him along with me and Harry as we made our way to the floor with the humpback witch. Casting a quick homo-revelio spell, I found that no one was around. Doubling checking to make sure that we weren't followed, I gave the statue a quick cleaning with my wand before kissing her on the left cheek.

Instantly the statue sprung to life as she cackled like a mad witch. Harry stood stunned while Neville had his shy thinking face on him. I didn't need any light spells as illumination was already pouring upwards from the end of the dark stairway.

"Come along you two."

Sticking Neville in the middle, I led the way down two flights of stairs before we came to a large circular room. Down in the room were Nym, Willow, Hermione, Hannah and Susan, up above their heads and floating around was my candlelight charm. Smiling at them, I turned and pushed Neville towards Hannah.

Bless their poor adorable souls because they both blushed and stuttered over their words as they tried to speak to each other.

"Mustang."

"Granger."

Susan looked at us before shaking her head at the tension. "Man, what is up with you two."

Then it was Nyms turn to pipe in, "Well, you see, the top three spots in our year for grades are, Greengrass, Roy, then Hermione. The spots are always shifting but they have a weird ravelry thing going on."

"Wow, so insightful." I snarked and got a tongue stuck out at me in reply. Shaking my head at Nym, I waved my wand, creating my own candlelight charm for the three broomsticks' tunnel. "Shall we head out?"

=\*/=

It was easy to see that Harry had a lot on his mind to think about as we made our way through the tunnel. What I wasn't expecting was for Nym and Hermione to hit if off so easily. Well, I guess the fact of learning about something new was helping her face Nyms bubbly personality.

Oddly, I was kind of looking forward to Harry's reaction to finding out that we were related. Yeah, I knew that it was only through grandmothers, but family was family. Granted I had plenty of plans and plots, but he was at least going to come out of it a lot better than going through Dumbledore's plans and plots. I just need to get this done without grandpa not finding out I didn't stay as neutral as I promised him.

The poke in my ribs pulled me out of my head and over to Susan, who was less than arm's reach at my side. She smiled at me and I returned it as I led the way down the softly lit tunnel. Her situation was another thing that I had to balance. I was up for sale by wizarding standards while I was dating Nym, but with my second child's status. That ment I was nothing but meat to be sold in the wizarding world.

It also doesn't help that everyone consider me to be a magical prodigy on the same levels as Dumbledore even if I don't flex my abilities for all to witness. Everyone knew that Amelia Bones was in talks with my grandpa the same with Elizabeth Greengrass, Daphne's mother.

Both were looking to boy my body to bolster their families and add my magical genius to their bloodlines. Intellectual, I knew that Sue wasn't hanging around me because she was told and that she genuinely liked me. That was a weird thing to accept because Nym and I were always swapping spit whenever we got the chance.

Shaking my head again, I started to hum a light toon as we walked. Soon after that, we came to a square light shining down at the end of the tunnel. My wand waved forward, and a silencing charm hit the shutter.

"Alright folks, end of the road. Please turn your trays to the upright position before leaving, and thank you for riding Tunnel Mustang." I quipped while hitting the shutter with an unlocking charm then levitating spell. Waving at the stairs that were leading upwards, I stood to the side so that they could see upwards. "Let's roll."

=\*/=

We found my brother waiting at one of the tables and when he noticed us he got up. After a round of fist bumps and hugs, we were then directed upwards to one of the private rooms. Inside the private room was a very hot witch with bubble gum pink hair.

"Well, well, who is this?" I asked, turning towards Max.

My brother looked at me before huffing with a twinkle in his eye. "That's my girlfriend so lay off with your grubby mits."

Putting a hand over my heart, I faked injury, "You wound me, but cool, let me introduce you. This is Willow, Hermione and you already know the one with the lightning bolt and everyone else."

"Wait, I thought granddad told you not to get into any trouble?"

I shrugged, "He did."

"Then why did you bring him here?"

"Because he is family, and I got tired of no one helping him." I replied with a sigh before planting myself in one of the open couches. Nym settled down next to me and Susan took the other side. Neville froze with wide eyes and Hannah looked lost. Hermione was looking like she was enjoying the drama and Willow looked lost.

"What do you mean we're family." Harry asked, lost and confused.

Max looked at me as if my head was cracked, "Wait, you didn't tell him we were related?"

"Well, duhh, it's not like I could with Dumbledore and his twinkling eyes and spies." I answered with a huff.

"Wait what? Spies?" Harry asked, confused, but there was that spark of fire in his eyes.

Instead of giving a straight answer I shrugged it away. "Ohh, come off it; it's easy to tell if you look from the outside in."

Harry's eyes went wide as he put the parts together in his head. I noticed how he looked at Hermione then at us. It was clear to see who was missing from the group. Well, that and the fact that he wasn't invited and Harry knew I have issues with him. "That rat bastard."

"I see you already figure out who the spy is, but the bat is the one you have to be careful of. He can read your mind with only eye contact, the same for Dumbledore. That's one of the reasons why his eyes are always twinkling. It's a small trick to have you give him solid eye contact. " I replied, while Harry mulled that over, I summoned a mug of butterbeer.

"Shit."

Chuckling, I only had one answer. "Yep."

I could see my brother rubbing his forehead with his girlfriend sitting in his lap.

"So, if you guys were family, then why was I sent to live with the Durselys?"

"The Dumble's is known for his plots and plans." I answered smoothly.

"And you don't have any plots and plans?" Harry shot back at me.

"Well, yeah, I do, but I at least plan to do what's right for the family even if I don't like all of my family. Lucky for you, you're on the like list so far. Unfortunately, I can't bring myself to like poor little Draco." I replied with a snort of derision.

"Wait, we're related to Draco?" Harry asked, eyes wide with a look of clear distaste on his features.

"Yeah, unfortunately, his mother is a Black which makes him a cousin. Hell, little Dora over there is our kinda related also." Max replied jamming a thumb towards us on the couch.

Rolling my eyes, I looked at the hot pink witch, "Max, stuff it."

My brother chuckled at Nym while pulling his girlfriend into his lap.

"Okay, I would like a hint at least about these plots and plans?" Hermione asked, interjecting herself into the drama.

Looking at her, tits all pushed up in a corset, black-painted lips and eyeliner. I gave it a quick thought before speaking. "I noticed a dark curse following Harry around in the school."

"That's not all of it," Hermione asked.

"Nope," I replied, popping the P. "I don't mind telling you after you to learn how to protect yourself against mind readers. Well, that and if you are willing to be on my side of things."

Hermione's dark painted lips curled at the corners. "So you're planning to start up a cult?"

Rolling my eyes, I leaned back into my seat as I tossed both my arms over the backrest. I didn't comment on how Nym, and Susan leaned closer. "Nahh, that's far too much work, but I might plan to help a few first-generation types, who knows."

"But shouldn't I get to know about this dark curse following me around?" Harry asked emo glare on his face.

Ignoring Harry, I turned to my brother, "Did you bring it?"

Max rolled his eyes before his wand snapped into his hand. A light wave had his dragon hide trench coat float over to him. Smirking at me, he stuck his hand deep inside the coat arm vanishing up to his shoulder. Harry and Hermione gasped in shock and I rolled my eyes at his antics. Everyone watched as Max pulled his arm back out with a parcel clutched in his hand. Max had the parcel float above his hand for a second before he sent it levitating into my outstretched and waiting palm.

Shaking my head at his pension for causing a scene, I ran my thumb across the security rune on the top. There was a soft click and that was when I noticed how everyone was on the edge of their seats. Looking up at them, I shook my head before taking out what looked like a set of monk beads.

Checking over the runic works on the beads, I noticed that everything was still working as it should. Everyone watched as I tossed it to Harry before I went back to looking in the parcel. Inside were three laminated boards with liquid silver miniature flask. Since I had my Raven's Nest it was time to really get into making some magi-tech.

Harry looked at the beads but never put them on, "What's this?"

"Something to protect your mind for now." I reply with a shrug at him. Oddly enough, Hermione was looking at the beads with envy. I couldn't help but to roll my eyes at her. "I can loan you a copy to the beginners guide to the mind arts."

Things settled again for some time before Max spoke up. "I think we should go before everything is closed in the Alley."

"Go where?" Hermione asked before opening another butterbeer.

"Family outing," I answer before getting up. Max did the same but we waved the rest back down. "Come on Harry."

Harry looked at me then at my brother. "Where are we going?"

"Well, I don't plan to tell, but you are going to need a sense of adventure." Max replied with a shrug. With a cool flourish of a hand his dragon hide trench coat was suddenly around his shoulders. Rolling my eyes at him, I gave Nym a kiss on the forehead before heading for the door.

As I got to the door, I noticed one male not following along. Turning around, I found Neville blushing up a storm with Hannah. Well, I guess he can get a wand next time. So instead of cock blocking l, I did the bro thing and kept on minding my own business.

Flexing my magic, I felt for any observers, finding none, I left the private room. Harry was behind me and Max was bringing up the rear. Halfway down the hall, I came to a stop before giving my brother a look. Rolling his eyes he pulled out a few photos.

"Here Harry." Max grunted giving Harry the few photos he had on him. "Don't mess them up, Mom would kill me."

"Ohh, umm thanks." Harry replied, confused then voice cutting out when he looked at the photos.

Max had one of those jock smiles on his face while leaning over Harry's shoulder. "You can obviously tell who the one with the shaggy head of hair is. That's Uncle James and the pretty redhead is Aunt Lily."

Rolling my eyes at my brother, I cast a quick duplication charm while willing it to be permanent.

Handing back the originals to my brother, I turned to eye Harry, "Don't let anyone know you got those from us, okay."

Harry's voice was soft, but we still heard him, "Thank you, both."

"Don't worry about it mate, Uncle James was the one who taught me to fly, kinda also the reason why I went pro." Max spoke, pride evident in his voice. "Can't really do the same for you, but given what I heard. I don't think you need it, Hogwarts youngest seeker."

Before we got to the parlor that held the fireplace, I checked it once more to make sure we were in the clear. When my check showed that no one monitoring us, I grabbed some floo powder and tossed a handful into the flames. One thing they never made clear in the books was the difference between a pinch and a handful.

It was pretty simple really, a pinch sent one person, and a hand full could send multiple people. That was the best way to travel for a small group like ours. Tossing the handful of floo powder forwards, I called out the name of our destination, "Diagon Alley."

Stopping, I let Max go before halting Harry since he almost walked himself straight into the far wall. "When you go through, keep on walking, don't stop; otherwise, it's going to shoot you outwards on the other side."

He gave me that Potter smile that could only be described as roguish. I could only shake my head at his antics as he stepped through. There was no way he wasn't going to be a lady killer, it was good to see a real smile on his face. A smile was better for him instead of brooding like how I found him and how the books described him to be.

=\*/=

Max checked his watch while I pulled out a hat and placed it on Harry's head. With a nod he turned to the right and we walked along before coming to a small clinic inside the alley. Inside the clinic was a high vaulted ceiling with a few people sitting in the front seats. Our family doctor was behind the counter and he saw us entering from the side door.

I had plenty of plots and plans in play and getting Harry a full medical check-up was one of those things. I could already tell that he was malnourished and had bruising, but I played it dumb like everyone else. Either Pomfrey was working for Dumbledore and broke her vows, or the man had her messed up seven ways from Sunday. Then again, school just started, and he hasn't been in the nurse's office yet.

What he doesn't know won't hurt him, and I needed a certified doctors medical examination for Amelia to later work with. Dr. Crown came right over while Max pushed Harry into a room with one of the cute nurses following them.

Ignoring that, I sat my ass down on one of the free seats. Within ten minutes I could hear my brother cursing up a storm and see the nurse running in and out with potion bottles. Shaking my head at it all, I pulled my enchanting book out of my own extended pouch. I lost myself in my reading as an hour rolled by quickly.

There was a soft click somewhere to my side pulling my attention to look over, I had to do a double-take. A healthy Harry stood there eyes bright, no glasses and gone was the depressing aura that clung to him. Idly I noticed that his scar was no longer there. Unleashing my grin, I knew that he was no longer a soul jar.

Behind Harry, my brother walked out with a pitch black orb the size of a baseball. My eyes went wide as I jumped to my feet. Quickly looking around, I snatched it out of his hands before anyone could get a proper look. Glaring at my brother, I put the pitch black orb in a container with an isolation runic script written all over it. Then I placed that inside my bag of holding.

Eyeing my Harry's brows rose up and almost vanished inside his hairline. Shrugging at him, I turned to give the doc a wave before heading out. I could tell from the look on his face that he was not happy with Harry's condition, and I would not stick around for a lecture. It was all too easy to figure out why Dumbledore sent Hagrid and not any of the teachers. My best guess was usually correct, and right now, I was thinking that Harry had come to the magical world with none of his magical potions protections.

I did notice my brother sticking a stack of parchment into his pocket.

Ohh yeah, Amelia Bones was going to get a kick out of Harry's medical data. All I have to do now is wait to burn Dumbledore at his most vulnerable. Was I planning to pull a Scar from Lion King, maybe, but then again, when you play the great game. You either win or you die, there was no between.

A/N

Ohh yeah, I just broke Canon but who cares, this is a Fanficiton.

Not going to spoil if for you folks, but lots to explore in the coming chapters.

So, as an update for everyone, Brightest Doom will be back with the start of the New Year. This is so I can work on backlogging the chapters. With the writing of this story, I got a little excited and blew my wad. Trust me when I say, I have learned my lesson on releasing all of the chapters and blowing my wad so easily. With the start of the New Year, I also plan to drop my own version of a DBZ Story. There are already 3 chapters to that, so there will be a nice backlog of chapters so we don't end up with the same issues happening with Brightest Doom.

If you wanna support and get the early chapters.
