I wasted no time when mother handed me the pen. Not once did I have to stop and think about what I wanted to write. I let my feelings flow from my heart, through my hand, and onto the piece of paper.

I wrote to my heart's content.

I've heard stories of our ancestors using its power to change the greater good. I was the biggest believer. There wasn't a story my grandmother and my mother told me that I did not believe. I saw things that were out of this world which really, only made believing easier.

I wasn't going to let my family die. I've lived my happiest life. I fell deeply in love and married the greatest man. He showed me what love was and held my hand, guiding me through life. And when we gave birth to three beautiful children, he continued to put our happiness above his own.

I couldn't get any luckier.

So when fate threw this chance my way, I did not hesitate.

I uncapped the pen and wrote away.
