Killing A Master

Fuyuki, Japan,

Silas POV,

Silas looked at the bustling airport with an expressionless face, people could be seen going about their days, coming from flights or going on them. A good number of people could also be seen in the built-in stores and even though he was getting a few looks once in a while, it wasn't enough to get much attention. He was wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans, and had a case slung over his back, the strange eye wasn't visible and while Silas knew there was no way to get rid of it, he also understood that it would draw unnecessary attention and give his identity away as well.

Though, the person that stood beside him was drawing a lot of attention. A well proportioned figure, a beautiful face and long blonde hair with blue eyes. She only wore a shirt and a skirt, a small blazer over it and a choker on her neck, she had a big smile on her face. Silas looked at her cheery disposition and sighed, being frank, they just didn't mix... however, he somehow liked her. That was one of the things he was pretty sure about.

"Are you sure about this?" Silas asked in a low voice as they walked, she was putting herself in a fair amount of danger by coming with him and had disagreed when he told her to stay back and wait. "Hm? I am. Not letting you fight in a war with no backup." Olivia or rather as she liked to be called 'Livia' replied with a smile, full name Olivia Hearth, she was from a new magus family with little to no connections or background, their union would be beneficial to her family so she was given to him as a bride and surprisingly, they didn't care about the sealing designation so long as the marriage went through.... but then again, Magus were fucked in the head anyway.

Surprisingly enough, he came to eventually like the girl and now they were here. She lightly smiled and grabbed his free hand before dragging him alongside her, he was too gloomy sometimes! Livia wished he'd smile more, he was very attractive too so it'd definitely help his image too. An hour spent goofing around in the refreshment section later, they were now sitting in a cab heading towards a hotel within the main business centre of the city.

"So you're going to go for someone from the Clock Tower?" Livia asked curiously as she looked out the window, both of them knew full well what was being discussed here but both of them were Magus, this was normal. "Of course." Silas replied nearly instantly, he was going to mess with that organisation any chance he got and this was most definitely a chance.

"They have someone named Bazett Fraga McRemitz and someone from House Galliasta, two people. For the Galliasta, Atrum Galliasta, the head himself has taken up place in a luxury suite." Livia told him folding her arms, it was pretty easy to get inside information for her because while small, they were still registered with the Clock Tower. Subsequently, her marriage was a well guarded secret as well.

"Then it's obvious who I've got to go for." Silas said with a small nod, a smile on his face. Bazett was from a house that was way too old for him to consider killing a member of theirs, the backlash would be way too much for a lone man to handle. House Galliasta though... Those people didn't care about their offspring at all, and besides, the new head to be of that family was the one here. They would be too busy trying to get back up to come after him.

"Atrum it is." Livia nodded with a small smile, pulling out a page from her pockets and throwing it to Silas. Livia's smile turned slightly self-deprecating, "Sorry I can't support you with anything other than Formalcraft." She said looking down, Formalcraft was a relatively weak branch of magecraft that was used by the families with weak bloodlines, it used Mana/Prana, the magical energy in the air/atmosphere as fuel for starting and carrying out spells, often involving long time consuming rituals. In contrast, the older families used Od, magical energy produced by the body itself and usually of higher quality, to start spells and then sustained them with Prana.

"Ow." Her forehead was flicked making her rub it with small tears in her eyes, "At least you can use magecraft." Silas said with a chuckle, to be able to use any kind of magecraft was something to be proud of. He didn't know how to but he didn't see any need for it either, Silas wished to stick to his methods as a former army sniper and later hunter even in this life.

"You know if you access the crest, you could easily use a vast array of magecraft with no casting time at all." Livia shook her head with a sigh, only problem is Family Crests were exclusive to a person and only accessible by said person as well. Silas had activated Magic Circuits and they were high quality as well, rivalling the Edelfelts but for some reason, he couldn't even access it.

"It's hopeless." Silas replied with a shrug, resting his head in his hand, he was too busy murdering and running away to properly learn magecraft and his only actual source of easy use was inaccessible at the moment. Truly, this world had something against him. (A/N: Oh it does. It can't do anything yet though.)

"Hehe, you don't have to give up that easily." Livia rested her head against his shoulder, for some reason someone of a status greater than her sounded like he was jealous and not looking down on her. "It is what it is." Silas replied as he looked at the passing city streets, many people were going about their normal days and Silas somewhat pitied them, they were about to get caught up in a war.

About an hour later, they had arrived at their destination and the cab driver smiled seeing the sight in the rear view mirror, the two had dozed off somewhere along the way. Kids.... were pleasing to look at when they were like this, yes even if the two looked to be nearly 20, they were still kids in the old man's eyes. "We're here kiddos." He said politely making Silas wake up, rubbing his eyes as he looked around slightly lost.

He recollected himself almost instantly though and shook Livia making the girl wake up and look around like a deer in headlights, "W-What happened?!" she half whispered, half shouted looking at Silas who was silent for a few moments, making her panic increase, "We've arrived." He announced unceremoniously, making her pout and punch him lightly, "Mou!"

The old cab driver laughed heartily as Silas tilted his head confused as to what he had done wrong. "Youngsters these days." He remarked as Silas handed him the money scratching the back of his head with an empty face. Silas was from an old house, money wasn't a problem for him at all and there was no way anyone could seize his accounts without him actually dying.
