Life Beyond

As the ages passed, my connection to life only grew stronger. My connection to death was always stronger than to life though. Death never lets life get ahead with me.

I could feel beyond my planet now. I could only feel a few other worlds with strong energies of life or...death.

This gave me a grand longing to travel beyond this world I have cultivated and was born on. I have long had the power of a version of teleportation. Where I use my beach to appear anywhere I know.

I can sense where these worlds are at. I know where they are. I could try, jumping, to them. Worst case, it doesn't work and I jump back home. Nothing can kill me after all. If my avatar is lost, it can be reformed effortlessly back at my beach.

I wanted to try.

I got up off my chair and went inside to put on my nice robes. Robes that were fashioned after a fairytale wizard. I even got the hat and staff. Inspired from the stories my mother used to read me as a young boy.

The robes were brown with green and adorned with bounties of nature. Such as amber, crystal minerals of earthy colors. The staff was made from a branch of the very first tree I planted. Under my care, it grew to the clouds and lived till now. Making the tree around 14,000 years old. No exact date as it took a while for me to care about keeping time initially.

I wanted to be presentable incase it worked out.

After a symbolic deep breath, I jumped...

Once I came out of the jump, I was greeted by a room of robed aliens, a human or two as well. They all looked at with surprise and curiosity. A black human was giving me a stink eye though. Like I entered his house with mud on my shoes.

I greeted first to alleviate the awkwardness.

"Hello, I am Ambrose Evermoor. I apologize for the sudden intrusion. I wasn't quite sure where I was going to end up when I jumped across space you see. Well, I at least knew I arrive somewhere on the planet. Just not here."

The green alien laughed, "Accepted, your apology is, Mr. Evermoor. Appearing here, random, it is not. Accidents, there are not, hmm. Grandmaster Yoda of the Jedi Order, I am. In the Jedi High Council Chambers, you are."

Oh, I with Jedi. How exciting, but what an odd first impression I've made.

"Oh, I suppose I am interrupting a meeting then. I'm sure I can find my way out and you all can go about your business. I'm sure it is important."

Grandmaster Yoda laughs again, "Important, the future is, yes. But, the present, more important it is. Please sit, and speak with us. Guest, you are."

I didn't refuse, as talking with someone after centuries made me beyond happy. I took a seat right there, and formed a chair behind me using chiralium. Chiralium can't be used to make anything, but it can make most things. A comfortable chair is something it can make.

The Jedi were all extremely curious about my chair. It was the black human that questioned, "Welcome to the Jedi Temple Mr. Evermoor. I am Master Mace Windu. That is a peculiar ability you have there?"

I am happy to explain it to someone after ages, "Oh, I would be delighted to explain. Mr. Evermoor feels to formal. Please call me Ambrose."

Yoda interjects, "Long time, it has been since spoken to another being, it has?"

I nod solemnly, "Yes, it has been thousands of years. Terribly lonely."

I continue to answer the previous question as everyone absorbs what I just said.

"I used chiralium to make this chair. It is an interdimensional particle that belongs to the realm of death. It can't make living things, but it can make dead things easy."

"I am Master Oppo Rancisis. I don't think yo are alive Ambrose. I see you take no breath and I detect no heartbeat. Even though the Living Force flows through you.", the snake alien Jedi Master says.

I sigh, "Oh, that is quite the terrible yet extraordinary tale to tell. This may take a short while."

I then told them about the Death Stranding, what I am, and everything afterwards up to this moment.

After I finished my tale, I felt fear coming from most of the masters. Except for Yoda, Oppo, Eeth Koth, Yaddle, and Even Piell.

Yoda sighs, "Much pain, endured you have. Sense I do, that help, we cannot. Beyond our power, this is, hm."

I smile lightly, "I have always heard grand tales about the power of the Jedi. However, I more than anybody knows how permanent my state is. Unless anything changes for once on my beach, eh."

Windu speaks, "I am concerned about your... ability to cause a Death Stranding. As you've said, it was not controlled when it first happened. Is it controlled now?"

His concern is valid, "I assure you Master Windu, after all these thousands of years. I am certain that the ability will not get out of control. Thankfully, the galaxy is not cruel enough to subject a single lifeform to cause global mass extinction unwilling a second time. There is no danger of it."

He takes my word for it as Yoda accepts my assurance with a smile.

Yoda asks, "Join the Jedi order, you want? Strong in the Force you are. Trained, already, mmm."

I am surprised by the offer.

Piell interjects, "He is a thousands of years old man. He may have power, but doesn't know the ways of the Jedi. There is a risk of him falling if he exercises that power in the greater galaxy."

Yoda keeps a smile, "Great pain, suffering, fear, and anger Ambrose has gone through. Fall, he never did. Even I, may not have remained in the light after such suffering. Strong, in heart and mind, Ambrose is. Fall, he will not."

Piell thinks for a moment but then agrees with Yoda.

Yoda then looks at me for my answer.

I laugh, "If you'd have an old man like me, I would be happy to join."

Thus, I joined the Jedi Order through chance.
