See The Light II

"Sure. I'll go right away." Maria was planning on telling the queen instead because it would be easier to speak to her about this issue instead of the king. She took ten steps forward and stopped when her eyes met the Queen's.

The queen was accompanied by king zhelang. When Maria saw the duo, she bowed.

"Your highness, your Majesty."

She looked up and the troubled expression she tried to conceal from the guards earlier, became visible now.

Noticing her worry, the queen became anxious. She walked up to Maria and cupped her face in her hands. "What's wrong Maria? Why do you have that look on your face?" When she thought deeper, she also became nervous. "Is it Titan? Did anything happen to h... him? Is he ok?"

Maria shook her head and whispered something in the queen's ear. The queen widened her eyes. She immediately felt anxious. She then turned toward the king who looked at her with a 'what's-going-on.' expression. She walked towards him, leaned in on his ear, and whispered what Maria had told her to him.

He had an expressionless face revealing no fears whatsoever. The queen however could not remain calm. She tugged his robe and said, "What if it's his illness again? You know he wouldn't open the door even if we ask him to."

Ignoring his wife's word, he calmly walked towards the little Titan's chambers and knocked on the door.

"Titan open the door."

Titan was so determined to stay in bed but hearing his father's voice, he descended the bed with much difficulty and strolled to the door.

The king was about to knock again when he heard a knocking sound from inside the room. The little Titan began to knock on the door simultaneously. Sometimes he would knock once and pause sometimes he would knock twice or trice and other times he would knock as if knocking to a tune.

Everyone was bewildered. 'What was he doing.' They had never experienced this before so it was more awkward than awesome.

This was a form of communication that was only known to his father. This was their secret communication pattern.

After the little Titan was done, he scurried back to bed and after a while, his father started knocking on the door in the same manner. Now everyone even the queen was surprised. She never expected that her husband would do the same thing. Yes! The king indeed speaks various languages for business purposes but, this was out of the ordinary. As they stared in awe, they heard a 'bang' from inside the room which caused the queen and Maria to jump in fear. Even the guards were cut off guard but did not reveal their fear.

The queen was about to persuade the king into breaking down the door when she heard his cold icy words. "Everyone, leave."

Maria looked at the queen before she bowed and left. The two guards standing by each side of the door looked at the king anxiously. They weren't sure if it would be the right decision to make but the king indicated for both guards to leave as well. With much hesitation, they also left. Then, he was left with his wife.

"I'm sorry but you have to go too. Our Titan might not open the door if you're still here."

"What? What do you mean to leave? My... d" She was getting furious so she stopped to catch her breath and relax before speaking. She knew that Titan had a soft spot for his father but this was way over the top board.

"My son is locked up in his room and you're asking me to leave?"

Still facing the door, he said to her "I'm sorry but he told me to ask everyone to leave." He didn't want to hurt her but it was necessary. Just as she was about to retort his words, the sound of the door unlocking was heard.

As the door open slightly, the king looked up and froze with widened eyes. The sight before him was unexplainable. 'What is this?'

He quickly rushed in and locked the door. Leaving his wife stupefied.

'Why is he behaving abnormally. Wait! What if this is some setup and the enemy has taken Titan as bait to lure the king? At the thought of this, she instantly felt scared but she knew she could not act rashly so instead of calling the guards, she went to her chambers changed her dress into warrior pants and a tight top.

She then went to the back of the castle and began to climb the wall that led to Titan's room.

Back in the room, the king stared at the being that was staring back at him. Was this even his son?

This being had blue dragon scales which were eye-blinding, a long tail that was longer than the actual dragon's tail, and wings that swept the floor. The only difference it had from an actual dragon was its singular horn which stood in the center of its head. The king had no idea how it even fit into the room or where it came from. "Little Titan, is that you?"

After a while, an unexpected reply came from the dragon-like creature, "No." king Zhelang furrowed his brow. He was not expecting the dragon to talk and that wasn't the response he had expected either. Although it was a relief, he was still worried about the little Titan.

"Then where is he? What do you want?" he asked confused. The dragon-like creature remained calm and tilted its head to the side in the direction of the bed without saying anything. The king narrowed his gaze and saw a bump on the bed. He signed in relief and began to walk towards the bed when all of a sudden the dragon-like creature that was once calm blocked his path with fury in his eyes and huffed making the king pause in his steps.

After the king backed out the dragon became gentle again.

"why? Don't you want me to see him? I'm his father you know." he tilted his head to the side and raised his brow as if stating a fact.

The dragon-like creature just stayed still like a personal guard not making any slight movement well aside from its tail which was moving from side to side.

After a while, it tilted its head towards the bed again. It seemed as if it was communicating with the prince in unspoken words. After a short while, it turned its head and faced the king again with a firm look on its face before permitting him to move.

The king stuck to the wall and used it as a guide to walk. When he got to the bed, he carefully opened the blanket and saw his son's pale face with chapped lips. He was suffering from a fever. A fever unlike any other he had witnessed.
