Idiot

"Eesh!"

"Be quiet, you idiot!"

Mieve scolded Lu as soon as he woke up. But Lu ignored her and rubbed his neck with a frown. He looked at Raiva.

"What did you do that for?"

"Oh, you mean I should have let you alert the whole mansion about someone being in Count Yennet's bedroom?"

"Ah…"

Lu gave a nod of realization. Maybe that hadn't been such a smart decision. But who could blame him? He had a beautiful woman ready to kill him less than a meter away.

Lu glanced around. Now, it was definitely less than a meter away. But the view was a whole lot better.

"So, uh…What's the deal with this?"

Lu pointed at Raiva's lap, which just so happened to be his pillow. There wasn't a hint that Lu was about to sit up.

Raiva shrugged.

"I felt bad. The floor looked quite uncomfortable."

Lu nodded.

"That it was. Thank you very much, Raiva."

"First name basis already?"

Raiva raised a skeptical eyebrow.

Lu shrugged with an easy smile.

"What are titles between two people who have exchanged blows with their lives on their line?"

"Haha."

Raiva couldn't help but let her laughter slip out.

Lu continued with his shameless smile as he enjoyed the soft but impressively muscular and sturdy legs supporting his head.

Mieve flicked Lu's forehead.

"Get up."

"No way. This might as well be heaven. Who knows if I really died back then? I'm going to enjoy this to the end."

Lu crossed his hands over his stomach and closed his eyes.

Raiva sighed.

"No, my daughter is right. It's about time we got out of here. You two have everything you came for, and I have what I came for. There's no need to stay here."

Lu opened his eyes in shock.

"You mean you didn't come here for me?"

Raiva smiled and leaned forward.

Lu hopefully closed his eyes and waited.

But, instead of a kiss, he got sent flying.

"No, not at all."

Raiva rolled Lu out of her lap and onto the floor again.

"Still, thanks for opening the treasury for us. It made things a lot easier."

"My pleasure."

Lu got up and straightened his clothes, making sure the Bahsi duo didn't take any of his loot while he was unconscious. He gave Raiva a bow before moving to the balcony. He dragged Baryt by the ankle.

He hopped onto the banister, still holding Baryt's ankle. He turned around and winked at Raiva.

"See you around, beautiful."

Lu turned into a flash of white light and disappeared into the Count's garden.

"..."

Raiva and Mieve stared in silence at where he had just stood.

Lu returned a few moments later, slightly out of breath.

"Whoops."

Lu slung Baryt over his shoulder before turning around and winking at Raiva.

"See you around, beautiful."

Lu carefully climbed down the balcony until he hung on the edge. There, he dropped to the ground with a soft thud. He rolled backward to soften the blow. Jumping with someone on his back wasn't easy, even with how much stronger his body had gotten since he started exhausting himself with his Blessing.

Lu looked around to check if they had been noticed. But there didn't seem to be anyone who had heard the thump or seen him drop down from inside the mansion. Lu snuck into the garden and made his way through it until he arrived at the edge of the mansion.

Raiva spoke to her daughter while looking at the fleeing Lu.

"You know, when he said I was beautiful, I could really feel he meant it—"

"I don't want to hear it, mom!"

Mieve covered her ears and left Count Yennet's bedroom, letting Raiva put the bed back in place and smooth the covers before closing the door behind them. She had a smile on her face.

Lu evaded the guards as best as he could.

"...ugh."

However, he had to step back and hide behind a few bushes when Baryt decided to wake up.

Lu scowled. What kind of weakling fainted from fear? It was embarrassing. What if Raiva remembered him as the friend of the guy who fainted merely by looking at Raiva's face?

"Where are we?"

Baryt climbed down from Lu's back and pretended like nothing as he crouched next to Lu.

"Yennet's garden."

"We're alive?"

"Obviously."

"The Bahsi Butcherer let us live?"

"No, I fought and defeated her—Obviously, she let us live! Seriously, man, get your shit together. If you continue making noise like a fucking idiot, she will have spared our lives for no reason!"

Baryt nodded, a little disgruntled but accepting of Lu's treatment. Baryt could tell Lu still didn't know who Raiva Bahsi was. But Lu had still made sure they escaped with their lives intact.

Baryt wasn't sure what would have happened if Lu wasn't there, considering he fainted from Raiva's pressure alone.

"So, how do we get out of here?"

Lu shrugged.

"I'll draw the guards' attention, and when you're out, I'll disappear."

"Is this it, then?"

Lu nodded.

"Sure is. Tell Mencer I said bye."

"...Maybe not."

"That's a shame. He would have hated it."

"That's exactly why."

Lu began standing up, but Baryt shook his hand.

"I know our relationship didn't have the best start, but I appreciate everything you've done for the Young Master. Thank you."

Lu gave Baryt's hand a quick shake before letting go.

"Sure. You owe me a favor, and everyone's happy."

'I only did this for the Prince and his promise, though. But I have to thank him. Meeting Raiva was nice.'

Lu ignored Baryt and took off. He ran toward the fence.

It was partly cloudy, so he had to be slightly careful with where and when he decided to make noise. Fortunately, luck seemed to be on his side, and he saw a spot of moonlight up ahead.

Lu grinned and started smacking the iron fence with a stick he picked from a nearby bush.

Immediately, guards started shouting and ordering each other to check it out.

As they approached, Lu started climbing, his fingers more than sticky enough to hold on to the iron poles and pull himself up until he stood on the pointy ends with his hands on his hips.

"Haha! You'll never catch the great Moon Spirit alive! Thank you, Madame Yennet, for a lovely evening!"

After sowing a seed of chaos, Lu turned into a streak of white light and disappeared into the night.
