Chapter 26: Nether Witch

Li Fan was speechless, the mysterious material was actually greater in durability than the body of a Condensed stage Spiritual Awakener.

Ellia continued to walk towards him, unspeaking and casually ignoring the tendrils violently attacking him.

"I'll turn you into a husk, fake swordsman."

A red aura started to permeate from Li Fan as he unleashed his demonic phenomena. This was responsible for the bloodless husks that covered the county, an ability which drained the blood from all living creatures within a certain area.

"I don't think so baldy." a woman's voice sounded from the sky.

The demonic phenomena that was meant to target Ellia dispersed completely after a hint of purple aura interfered with the red.

"Of course you don't know you arrogant fool, everywhere the Heaven-fallen knight goes the Nether witch follows." the woman who was chained to the wall reveled in Li Fan's despair.

Li Fan looked up to reveal a woman in a loose robe that was not dissimilar to a cultivator robe but also not the same, he couldn't get a great look as the fog hid most of her.

"Don't get arrogant just because there's two of you ants, I'll still crush you all the same!"

Ellia stood still for a moment when Li Fan began to tear away at his own skin revealing a fleshy monster emerging from inside him.

"I didn't plan to do this so soon but you left me no choice." as he said this his cultivation soared from the condensed stage of Spiritual Awakening to the Actualized stage.

He went from a regular sized man to an eight foot giant which seemed to be formed of blood, and began to run towards Ellia.

"DIE DIE DIE!" He struck him with a fist which carried immeasurably more strength then the tendrils which had been attacking him earlier.

Ellia raised his great-sword's flat side to blunt the impact and was actually pushed back a step.

"Impossible, how can a Quasi spiritual awakener have so much physical strength." Li fan was surprised that Ellia and his armor hadn't been turned to mush.

Li Fan quickly cut his left arm and tossed it into the air, he needed to get rid of the women interfering with his demonic phenomena.

"Watch out Lyra." Ellia said as he began to attack Li Fan.

The arm which Li Fan threw into the air turned into small tendrils which flew towards Lyra.

She merely smiled showing off her red lipstick which contrasted her purple eyes.

The tendrils which shot towards her all found themselves meeting different ends, some froze and fell to the ground while others caught fire and burnt to a crisp, all of them were stopped but one, one of them managed to slightly graze her cheek.

"What kind of daoist magic is this?" Li Fan was stunned by Lyra's skills but his thinking was cut short as another slash approached him.

He attempted to block the incoming slash from Ellia, the previously unfeeling knight now held a great amount of hostility in his attacks.

Li Fan managed to stop the attack and quickly moved backwards, he assessed his injury and noticed the sword cut halfway through his arm.

A malicious smile dawned across his face and he quickly regenerated his half cut arm as well as the one he had tossed in the air, now returning to his original physical condition.

If Ellia didn't have the strength to end him in one hit it meant that he could slowly wear him down, after all, his blood based cultivation gave him almost endless regenerative capabilities.

Ellia slowly raised his sword to the sky, obviously aware of Li Fan's thoughts.

"From where does your confidence stem?"

Lyra was holding a mirror while looking at the small cut on her cheek before she noticed Ellia starting his speech and rolled her eyes.

The sword slowly began to glow a red far darker than the color Li Fan was emanating.

"You were right about me being a fake swordsman, have you ever heard of an executioner using fancy sword techniques?" he smirked under the armor.

The sword was now completely covered in the red glow.

"As a cultivator you should be aware of inscriptions to an extent."

Lyra waved her hand casting some sort of magic on Ellia and he smiled when he realized that the technique had been activated.

It was time to end this.

He moved so quickly that Li Fan was unable to react, a sword came down and cut his right hand.

Ellia stopped attacking and let him retreat a few steps purposefully, he wanted to see someone who had pushed so many others to their death enjoy the preceding feeling before ending up at the same destination.

Li Fan was absolutely stunned.

This speed was not possible for a Spiritual Awakener. He had a realization and glanced at the two

His eyes darted between the two of them clearly analyzing something.

"You cheat, your strength is not your own!"

Ellia attacked him once again and cut his other arm.

"A perverse freak like you actually wants to talk about cheating." Lyra yelled, still hidden behind the fog in the sky.

Li Fan took this time that she spoke as an opportunity to heal his arms but it was unsuccessful, they weren't healing no matter what he did.

"Yo-you, what did you do to me!?" he yelled at Ellia as he slowly felt closer and closer to death..

"I've already told you." Ellia replied while slowly closing the distance once again.

Li Fan thought about what he had said earlier and remembered.

"INSCRIPTION!? YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE YOU HAVE THAT LEVEL OF AN INSCRIPTION ON YOUR SWORD!?"

He slowly began to walk backwards with a horrified expression as Ellia approached him.

"IMPOSSIBLE YOU CONVINCED A SPIRITUAL INSCRIBER AT THE HEAVENLY EYE STAGE TO ACTUALLY WRITE FOR YOU!?"

Ellia was done listening to him, he was clearly out of his mind at this point.

"Vanish into oblivion." he said as he brought the sword down on him.

He cut him so many times and with such force that his body turned to pasty substance.

The pile of flesh shook, before a translucent smaller version of Li Fan emerged and attempted to fly away.

"I don't think so." Lyra spoke in a playful tone.

She gestured for the soul to enter her grasp and the escaping soul flew towards her.

Li Fan looked up at her in terror, he had never expected the locals of this world to actually be so powerful and mysterious.

"Look what you've done to my face, I actually got a cut." She turned her face slightly to reveal a cut so small it may have been missed if not directly pointed out.

"Now pay the price."

Lyra slowly lit the soul aflame letting it suffer, it took a few minutes of Li Fan screaming and burning before he finally died.
