Would someone demand justice for the death of these mortals? It was unlikely, groups who actually cared for them such as the orthodox factions were scared to send powerful cultivators due to the looming threat of war.
The bloody old man understood that this meant no Heavenly Eye cultivator would arrive to stop him. As for the weaker ones who had tried, they all ended up adding to his cultivation instead.
In the grand scheme of things mortals were tools to be used and thrown away at will, would a farmer risk his life for one hoe among a hundred? it was simply nonsensical.
He would slowly work on absorbing people even if it took him many years he would surely reach the Dao Lord realm extremely quickly making him the fifth Dao Lord in the competition. He was salivating at the thought of winning.
"Li Fan You fiend they'll come for you." a half dead woman chained to the wall in the courtyard spoke up. She was bruised, battered, cut and overall in an extremely bad state.
Li Fan looked at her with an expression full of ridicule, clearly mocking her optimistic attitude.
"Have you forgotten, you weak excuse of a sect leader, I've reduced your disciples and allies to dust."
He walked over to her with a lustful expression beginning to form on his face.
"Do you remember how they screamed? Save me sect leader, sect leader run while I hold back the demon, sect leader why is this happening to us. The only reason you live now is to satisfy my needs." he extended his hand.
She spit on him as he got closer, his blood stained face and balding head was enough to make anyone nauseous.
"It's not about sect members or orthodox or even unorthodox. They will come for you."
Li Fan's expression turned ugly and he kicked her, she curled up somehow managing to stop grunts of pain from escaping, she did not want to give him the satisfaction of breaking her.
"WHO ARE THEY, HAVE YOU GONE INSANE!?"
She threw up blood, merely adding to the already bloodstained floor of the courtyard and slowly leaned back against the wall, barely managing to speak once more..
"I sent everything I had of value over to the Guild of Elysium a long time ago."
Li Fan scanned his inherited memory, he had been a local of the county so he knew about the guild. It was an agency that agreed to do certain tasks for a set reward. They would post the request and members of the agency would complete it.
He grabbed her by the head and looked her dead in her face, his eyes exuding madness.
"I was planning to leave but now, now I'll stay here and make you watch the fools you summoned die. I'll kill them and skin them alive just to show to you that you caused their death."
As he finished speaking he threw her against the wall, she smirked at him in retaliation because she knew what was about to happen.
As if it had been arranged by the heavens themselves the door to the courtyard swung open.
*Skrreeee*
The sound of metal scraping against the ground began to slowly echo through the thick fog, an ominous and unexplained noise.
"Who?!" Li Fan got into a defensive stance, it might not be apparent but whatever opened the door was extremely fast, he had spread his Divine Sense at least one thousand meters around the courtyard.
This meant that the intruder had arrived at this door instantly from at least one thousand meters away.
"Hahaha." Behind him, the woman began to laugh.
"You hear that sound, it's the sound of your death approaching." she spoke with a large smile on her face.
It was common knowledge in the Wildlands, there was only one individual who was known for this sound.
From the depths of the fog a figure started to emerge.
*THUNK*
*THUNK*
the heavy footsteps accompanied the sound of the metal that was scraping against the ground.
"Who are you? Reveal yourself!" Li Fan spoke while tendrils of blood began to emerge from his back.
"Others call me Ellia." an almost metallic voice emerged from the silhouette that had now fully stepped out of the fog.
It was something unlike Li Fan had ever seen before.
A man covered with armour made of crystal like material that had a distinct yellow glow, his helmet had three slashes down the middle to allow for sight, a design that made it seem like a creature had clawed at the helmet.
"YOU'RE DEAD THEY'VE SENT THE HEAVENFALLEN KNIGHT!" the woman who was chained to the wall began to celebrate.
"You will know me as your executioner." as he spoke the massive great-sword he had been dragging was thrown over his shoulder, it was done so quickly that the blade seemed almost weightless.
Li Fan felt a sudden burst of rage, a fake swordsman was actually talking down to him, the blood demon.
"Don't bluff, you may hold a big sword but I can see you lack any semblance of technique from your stance. I know you are a junior in the Quasi Spiritual awakening realm, run along before I absorb your blood essence."
Ellia began to slowly walk towards him.
"Come face your death at the hands of a fake swordsman." His voice did not have a trace of hesitation or doubt, it was as if he had stated a fact.
Li Fan knew that he couldn't let Ellia get close to him, after all swordsmen typically needed to be close enough to slash you.
"DIE!"
The blood tendrils protruding from him rushed at Ellia and tried to stab him through his armour
*Snap*
*Crack*
The tendrils were actually too weak to reach him, they merely broke at the tip as they tried to pierce him, it was like trying to pierce the hide of a beast with a needle meant for a man.
Ellia continued walking towards him unimpeded, slowly closing the distance between Li Fan and death.
