Chapter 8 Demon Lair!!(3)

Waking up the next day, Alex yawned exhaustedly as got up to stretch.

*Thud*

'Ouch.' Alex groaned in pain as he fell out of tree he was sleeping in. Now fully awake he observed the sky that hasn't change since he got here. Washing his face in the river Alex decided to view his status.

'Looking good but I need more skill points to buy skills which means I need to kill more monsters.' As Alex decided on his next course of action he decided to follow the river downstream to see if he can find anything. Walking along the river Alex once again didn't find any monsters or beasts making him wonder if he really was in a dungeon since from the knowledge he has they are supposed to be full of monsters. Continuing his journey Alex soon started to feel warm and he noticed the water releasing steam, curious he continued his journey and soon saw the reason why.

'Is that lava.'

Yes lava, after walking for a around three hundred meters along the river bank the water eventually turned into lava which caused a lot of steam to rise into the air. Fascinated Alex wondered how this was possible and where the lava was coming so with much enthusiasm he continued his journey. As he continued to walk along the river of molten lava he noticed that the grass became sparser and sparser as he continued becoming red cracked ground devoid of moisture but strangely the trees remains the same.

"Die you monsters!!"

Alex heard the sound of fighting in the distance, curious he followed the sound to it's source.

"Fight, don't give up or we'll die." Shouted one of them as they pierced an imp with their spear. Unsurprisingly the group of humans that were fighting the small army of imps was Robert and his group only this time there wasn't five of them but three. For one Robert survived which wasn't surprising since he seemed to be the strongest in the group, along with him was the girl and one of the boys that was with him.

'Well I guess these idiots actually followed me in here. Should I help them or should I let them die?' Weighing the pros and cons he made his choice.

Jumping out from his hiding place and started killing the imps. Alex decided to help for two reasons, he wasn't confident in his abilities to hide or kill the small horde of fifty or so imps and his goal was to conquer the dungeon so having a few meat shields -ahem- allies wasn't such a bad idea.

Seeing Alex, the group were a little surprised to see him but quickly turned their attention back towards the horde of imps. Hacking and slashing his sword at the imps killing them in one hit while gathering fresh wounds of his own.

While killing imps left and right Alex noticed a slightly taller imp at the back, it was a darker shade of red than the other imps, it had black claws and fangs along with a menacing grin on it's face. Hesitantly, Alex cut his way towards the bigger imp, activating [Sharpen].

Alex lunged at the imp with his sword raised above his head. Suddenly the imp turned towards him and raised it's hand to block the strike but that wasn't all, suddenly fire encased it's arm all the way to it's elbow causing it to successfully block his sword. Jumping back Alex stared at the imp for a moment running at it swinging again, the creature didn't stay idle as charged at Alex with flaming claws. Clashing with the imp, Alex couldn't get the upper hand as the imp matched him strike for strike, while thinking what he could do Alex sensed a imp lunging at him from behind Alex kicked his opponent in the chest and grabbed the imp by the neck and threw it at the bigger one.

Swatting the incoming imp out of the way with it's flaming claw the bigger imp saw a silver sword flying his way which Alex threw with his mana enhanced bicep. Hitting the blade out of the way with it's flaming claws, the imp ran at Alex with a large grin on it's face like it could already taste victory but Alex only flashed it a smile. Suddenly out of nowhere the monster felt something pierce it in the back. Looking down it saw a silver blade sticking out of it's chest, looking up again it saw a slightly glowing fist coming at it's face. Punching the creature in it's face it coughed up a bit of blood and stared at Alex. Using the [Command] enchantment once again, Alex pulled out the sword from the imp and into his hand. Running towards the wounded imp Alex swung his sword again which was blocked by the imp but caused his wound to leak more blood. Kicking the imp in the chest the imp stumbled backwards dizzily which gave Alex the opportunity to end this fight once and for all by slashing it's throat open.
