Chapter 3: part 1/3

Angelines pov:

After school, Carlo and I walk home together. I told Joy about us living together, and honestly she was actually quite supportive of it.....to the point where she insisted that we go home together ALONE while she attends to some other business.

'Ugh....what am I gonna do?'

As I'm pondering over this sudden turn in my ordinary life, Carlo just keeps talking, though I can barely hear him over all the thoughts running wild in my head....

Suddenly,

"Watch out!!"

Carlo yells as he wraps his arms around me and pulls me into his broad chest, just barely protecting me from getting hit by a car.

"That was scary!" Carlo says in a relieved tone, but his tone soon changes into a reprimanding one...

"What were you thinking?! You could've gotten seriously injured just now! Or worse...!"

Carlo stops midway seemingly unable to say more.....

'...I've never heard him sound so angry before'

"...sorry,and Thanq for saving me Carlo."

I apologize and smile as I look up at him in hopes that his temper dies down.

Carlo looks at me but then immediately looks away , his cheeks tinged pink. He begins to walk ahead of me.

'...Is he still angry?'

As if dispelling my thoughts, Carlo finally answers...

"I-its alright....just be more careful next time."

As I walk behind him I see that his ears are red.

'...he's blushing ?'

I walk faster to catch up to him...for some reason I feel really happy....

"What're u grinning about? Baaakaa."

"Nothing, nothing at all" I say while continuing to grin at him.

"!...a-anyways lets just get home quickly , I still have to make dinner...."

Carlo suddenly grabs my hand

"....and stay close to me, we wouldn't want u, being as careless as u r, to get into trouble again now would we?"

He smirks

"Hey! I'm not careless!" I talk back.

"Yeah,yeah..."

Carlo and I continue arguing back and forth as we walk home, just like when we were kids....
