Forge

"Phew!" I made a deep sigh while sitting next to a counter.

Look around the place because I have nothing else to do and anything can catch my eye. Thus I re-examined the blacksmith shop for the tenth time today.

This place is a bit narrow full of many shelves that have weapons and armors all over the place, there is a door that connects to a corridor before entering the forge room and another door that I haven't entered yet. The counter is just a few meters from the door that has a window next to it.

I'm so bored. I am serving customers who come to the blacksmith shop, although this place is usually very empty and people rarely come because of what seems like a ghost shop.

Right now I can only resign myself because I decided to accept working in this place and I don't want to give up halfway and see Fresk's smug smile.

I have been working (learning) in this place for five days. In the mornings, he helped Fresk to forge some weapons like swords and spears, and from time to time we made some other light armor. Which always ends with muscles all over my body aching and I can only thank the falna for improving my overall strength.

Because the most probable thing is that I would get a heat stroke if I started to forge with my small body if I were not blessed with the falna.

Apart from the hell, I have to go through in the mornings, it's not that bad to work in this place. If my goddess hadn't forbidden me to go to the dungeon, I would likely be hunting monsters in the dungeon monotonously right now.

Maybe it's good to relax once in a while, but I mustn't let this feeling take over me because it doesn't matter what happens. I must never leave the routine.

I put the dungeon aside and remembered what happened yesterday.

I tried my skill for the first time after forging a few knives myself. I didn't make swords because they take a long time to create and I wanted to test my skill as quickly as possible.

So I took advantage of Fresk leaving early and used my skill in the forge. I had seen how the iron took the shape of the knife little by little, while it was heated in the oven, and at last, I saw that the knife had been formed.

At first, I was excited, but looking at the knife I left me a little disappointed that I sacrificed iron to make a knife. But the knife was hideous, blunt, and brittle, plus its hideous crooked appearance as if someone had used the knife to stab stones until it bent and left in very bad shape. Even the horrible knife I made on my first try was better than that aberration.

I got a little frustrated, but I didn't want to give up so easily and tried using iron plus a goblin fang. The result was another aberration, just a little tougher.

I can only improve as a blacksmith and maybe in the future I can make weapons that can raise their wielder's stats and have abilities like magic weapons.

Although the first weapons I created using my ability were horrible. I won't lose hope! I want to create my knife (katana) and call it chunchunmaru.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but I still want to do it.

Leave my thoughts when I hear the sound that the bell makes every time someone opens the door.

I said in a high tone "Welcome!" when I saw that there was more than one person.

When I could see the full figure of the two girls who entered, they were beautiful, one of them had red hair tied in a ponytail and green eyes, while the other girl had black hair and eyes of a similar color to the fuchsia, she was wearing a kimono.

The red-haired girl approached me in front of the counter and greeted me with a smile and an energetic attitude, "Hey kid, are you new? Do you know where the manager of this place is?" She started asking me questions after greeting me.

"Hello. I've only been working here for less than a week, and if you ask about Fresk, I'm sorry, but I don't know where he is right now. He always leaves in the afternoon" I greeted her before answering the questions she asked.

"Oh, and here I thought it was a miracle to find this place open. Well, can you hand him this sword and tell him to do some maintenance on it?" She said to I before placing a double-edged sword with a red hilt on the counter.

"I would appreciate it if you would hand over my sword as well," The girl with black hair said, before placing a katana on the counter.

I sighed before asking "Can you tell me their names? I don't want to take care of these swords without even knowing their names."

The redhead smirked before saying "I'm Alise" I turned my gaze in the direction of the other girl and saw her show a small smile before saying "My name is Gojouno Kaguya"

"Well it was nice talking to you," I said before putting the swords under the counter and taking out some iron ingots.

Today Fresk said that I could use the forge furnace and the tools as long as I wanted after serving the customers that come. But I have to pay for the metals I use.

When I was about to go towards the forge room, I saw that the girls were still in this place.

"Hey, do you need anything else?" I asked why they weren't leaving yet.

While she was a bit doubtful if they needed anything else. I heard Alise say "Are you going to let a lady as beautiful and beautiful as I tell you her name and you don't do the same?" She said with a joking tone.

Although it's true I haven't told them my name yet "I'm Liam Hunt, it was nice to meet you" I said while feeling a little awkward.

Alise laughed and said "You don't have to be so serious, it was just a joke. Well, tell Fresk we'll come to pick up the swords in two days. See you later," she said goodbye next to Gojouno.

When I saw that they finally left. I closed the door of the smithy and went straight to the forge room. Even though every muscle in my body aches, I refuse to simply accept that my ability only produces low-quality weapons. So I'll just forge and keep forging until I can get it right.

Maybe in the future, I can forge better weapons than Hephaestus. Although it is practically impossible, it is never a bad thing to dream of reaching for the stars.
