Chapter 1, Heavenly Dao Rankings

Moonlight fell upon the land as people slept under the darkness. Some illuminated by their phones as they texted or watched videos in the night.

The night sky brightened as a golden scroll laid beside the moon. Its light even brighter making the moon seem dim.

At the top it read Heavenly Childern Ranking, some were shocked as they saw it in the sky. While most were still asleep or not able to see this shocking scene.

"Children of Earth, I am the Time Eternal. I have felt you all have shocking talents and I shall awaken the lock upon this planent. You will be able to cultivate. I hope one day we can meet, but I shall leave the rest to you."

The voice faded as people woke up in shock. In their minds information about cultivation appeared, a basic manual about cultivation also had appeared.

The scroll in the sky shined as a name appeared.

Ranked 20th on the Heavenly Childern Ranking. A man in China at the age of 30 looked at the sky in shock.

The scroll flashed again as another name appeared.

In Europe a 3 year old child wobbled around, no thoughts found.

This went on for a few minutes until a the 10th person appeared.

A chubby boy around 14 years of age looked at the sky in a daze.

A beautiful girl with light carmel skin sat on the phone with her friend as she looked at the sky.

"Haha I'm definitely going to be number 1" A fat boy said in excitement as he held his anime pillow.

A boy at 15 years of age looked at the sky camly. He pet his cat as it tried to escape and run to the grass in front of him.

"I'm number 1? Huh and I always thought I was unlucky." He smiled before sitting down and thinking about the manual in his mind.

'The first realm is Qi gathering, this is because you only gather the surrounding qi into your spiritual mound without doing anything else. The aftermath of it going into your body expels impurities and strengthens your body.'

He thought for a moment before trying to feel the surrounding qi. Instantly he sensed it easily, he felt he could bring it into his body easily.

'This cultivation manual only reaches the basics. If I want a one perfect for me I need to create my own.'

He sat thinking for a moment before talking off his shirt. He had a skinny body but it wasnt too skinny.

'The manual says to bring qi through your meridians into your spiritual mound. But thats all it says, nothing special.'

He thought before trying to bring the qi towards him. It easily flew toward him, following his every will. He brought it to his meridians before stopping.

'If the body strengthening is only a after effect, what if I strengthened my body with the qi before storing it in my spiritual mound.'

He brought the qi around his body trying his best to make his body stronger with the qi.

He cared for his muscles with the abundant qi in his surroundings. Feeding his body the qi to create new muscles and strengthen them.

After a few hours of grueling work his body transformed. His muscles gleaned in the moonlight with their newfound strength. He stood up lightly looking around. He used qi to strengthen his eyes, the night looked day as he sensed his surroundings.

He was in a creak that was dry, the forest in front of him looked illusory in the night. He walked to a small tree before uprooting it with one hand.

"Eh really that strong huh, wonder what it will be like im the future." he smirked before looking to his left at his starteld cat.

"I wonder if you can cultivate too, maybe you'll get big enough to be my mount." he shook his head before sitting down again.

'I should start my cultivation now.' He started gathering qi at a monsterous rate, as if a black hole appeared the surrounding qi flew to him at lightning speeds. His spiritual mound starting to fill up.

Qi gathering 1..qi gathering 6, his realm rose fast until he peaked at Qi gathering 10. His spiritual mound filled to the brim with qi glistening a beautiful light.

'Next is foundation establishment, you condense your qi into a pillar to make your spiritual mound more solid, you usually make it taller and taller stretching your spiritual mound to fit more qi. The more solid your pillar is the easier you can gather qi into your spiritual mound to use it.'

Thinking about this he pondered for a bit.

'Usually you choose a element for your pillar, qi comes in all different types. Some more potent. What should I choose.'

He sat pondering before smiling.

'The only reason you choose a type is because they repulse other qi, but if i choose something that cancels eachother out I can get different spiritual qi.'

He thought about what he wanted first before looking at the night sky. Immediatly he started to try to change his qi. He mimicked the properties of what he wanted to replicate it and change his qi.

His qi turned black as it condensed into a ball, it started madly sucking qi in the surroundings. Like a black hole trees leaned towards him as dirt flew at him. His cat grabbed the ground in panick.

'Black Hole Qi.'

The ball grew darker and darker as it shrunk slowly.

'Eh no its getting so tiny how can i make it into a pillar.'

He quickly sucked in qi to feed the Black Hole Qi. It started to grow bigger as he tried to shape it into a pillar. After a few hours his qi became a black pillar sucking in qi like crazy.

'This wont do now I'm constantly sucking in qi.'

He frowned before gathering qi separately trying to mimick a differnet property.
