As a hanyou pure breed, a half human half demon, the woman with the name Terashima Lila was still somewhat of a unique case. While there are individuals who have distinct traits that define them as a hanyou, it was different for her. In the first place when one thinks of hanyou, they think one parent is human, and one is demon correct? But for the hanyou's living in the modern time that's not the case. At some point in history the blood line slowly diminished, more demons married humans, and their children married humans. The race ought to be instinct by now, and yet traces of demon blood are still found in humans, which lead to the manifestation of powers in regular humans.
For her, the traces of demon blood are the strongest, and that's why people constantly attack her. Lila is constantly a target because of the strong blood; but the cases recently, the past year and since she came here is definitely because of a single body organization. Since she came, her thoughts are on Haruka, but Lila hasn't forgotten her mission. She's a faint hearted and weak person, but there's something she's always believed in more than anything.
Lila halted her jogging and looked up at the large tree placed in the park's corner.
She extended her hand out to the center and closed her eyes. It's not the silver tree at home, or the mysterious one covered in her mother's flowers at the park. However, she felt it, the very same essence in those trees flowed through this one. It surprised her that there would be such a place like this, in such a busy city — a place where you could hear the sound of the wind, the leaves rustling.
Mother, she wants to get stronger.
Is it possible for her?
The entire time she was so loved and sheltered. She looked straight ahead, without looking back, to catch up. To be able to find you. But even though she's attained the title of number one idol. It feels like she's only touched the very edges on that stage.
No inside that place, inside the space where Mother appeared and gave her the god idol crown. She felt it. This is only the first step; there's something more. There's an area in that space that she cannot reach yet with her current level. Gradually her body is getting better, but the lingering effects of Soichiro's training remained. With the heavy schedule, Haruka gives her; it's difficult to rest too.
She is unsure how well she will do in the Dream Stars audition round. Even though, Lila intended to hold her abilities back. There's probably no need for that. The present her won't even be able to scratch the performance she put on during the finals.
Lila frantically shook her head, no more negative! Besides, Kasumi still believed in her. She said it was okay for her to be confident. It's okay; it's okay. Lila repeated those words several times more before she pulled her hand away and returned to training.
...
With the earlier mindset, Lila intended to focus on improving her health. It would be bad if she were to break down after all. Since she came here, Lila maintained her urges to a certain degree. But Lila discovered that her emotional state affected her urges. Though she speculated this before, she only found this when she came here. Despite her firm resolve, however, that came crashing down when Karashima Haruka decided to attack her the moment she arrived at school.
Lila broke free and covered her flushed face with her hands.
"You're cute," Haruka said with a sly smile.
This is embarrassing for her. In the first place, why does Haruka know about these areas' nobody seems to cross? She heard the bell go a third time, Lila and knows she's late. It will take time getting to the classroom.
Haruka seemed to read her thoughts since he said with a grim expression, "I'll take you back."
"Yes..." Lila nodded.
Today is her birthday.
Maybe, that's why she received such a royal princess treatment from him this morning and why, despite her protesting. He made her stay with him last night. Although she managed to slip away during the morning, he easily found her. That was the first time for her, waking up to someone who isn't Kiryu kissing her. Haruka's lips were on hers. It was such a mysterious feeling.
Her thoughts' broke of feeling the warmth of Haruka's hand against hers. Ah, "Don't space out.."
"Ah-- yes."Lila stammered.
His hand. Lila gaze softened, she doesn't understand. Why does he like her?
....
When Lila arrived inside the classroom, thankfully no teacher was insight, and everyone seemed to have moved the table around into groups of four. Lila blinks. Oh, a lesson is canceled. But what's everyone doing? When her eyes scanned the room, she noticed everyone seemed to be preparing for something. Various art materials lay on the tables, and the floor.
Lila blinked. Are they preparing for a festival? But it isn't till June right, and it's only April? Then again, when she was doing her research with Kiryu. She noticed that the school had an unusual number of events. Cheerfully Yumeko-chan made her way over to where she and Haruka were standing.
"Look Ari-chan. I made a cute crown."Yumeko holds up a paper crown with various decorations, and ornaments on it.
"It's pretty--"
Haruka cuts her off by sneering, "Childish."
At that, the blonde eyes twitch in annoyance, "At least my tastes aren't vile."
"Hm."
"Aren't you in the wrong classroom? You better hurry long again before you end up repeating another grade."
At that remark of Yumeko-chan, she watched Haruka's expression change. Lila sweatdropped, seeing the lightning bolts between the two. Uh...Before Lila could intervene, someone pulled her back.
Ah.
"Hamano-kun." Lila greeted.
He gave her an acknowledged nod and turned to Yumeko and Haruka, "Always making a fuss these two. Senpai. Yumeko-chan, don't cause a scene."
"But he--"
"She--"
Mikami shook his head and then pointed to her. At that, the two suddenly stopped, as though something just crossed their minds.
"I will fetch more materials. Ari-chan, what color do you need? We're almost out of everything."
Oh! Lila quickly said, "Ah, then some shades of blue please."
Yumeko nodded. She spoke to some other girls before leaving.
Lila stared at the girls retreating figure; she wondered; what's really between her and Haruka-kun. This sort of hostility towards each other doesn't seem reasonable. Perhaps Yumeko-chan as well is one of those girls.
Haruka informed her that he's leaving, which stopped her train of thought, "I'm going to head back now."
"Ah— yes... um..."
She wanted to say something. What was it again? Oh, right? She wanted to see him before the meeting time. She should tell him she can't come.
"I'll meet you by the back gate."
"Ngh..."Lila moaned lightly, as his lips grazed her ear. The ticklish sensation was still unfamiliar to her, as she replied, "Ann--and I have--"
"Come meet me when you're finished here."
Lila nodded. His fingers lingered on hers for a moment before he pulled away.
"Senpai, t—thank you. For earlier."
Haruka looked puzzled. "You like that type of kiss?"
She forgot that words of gratitude are useless with this guy. He always interprets her words of appreciation for something sexual. But, she supposed, it was for something physical related. How does she explain this? Whenever she feels cold and uncomfortable, he embraced her tightly. He made her feel safe.
However, whenever she woke up in the middle of the night, his arms are no longer around her. He turned his back, so he is no longer facing her. Occasionally she would wake up in the morning, and he would be there. But those times are rare, mostly. He's never there.
He didn't wait for an answer and kissed her lips briefly.
With a final nod, she watched as he walked away.
She couldn't tell him. Even now nothing changed, she's still indecisive and weak. If Mother saw her now, she would be disappointed. She cannot be like Mother, strong and brave despite everything that's happened. Lila can't get back up when she falls and stumbles longer than most people.
