Chapter 13: The Culinary Battle

"Lord Beerus' twin?" Upon hearing Vados' introduction, John Doe and his group carefully examined Champa, and then Vegeta spoke up, "Now that you mention it, Lord Champa does bear a striking resemblance to Lord Beerus."

Goku, excitedly continued, "So, who's stronger between Lord Champa and Lord Beerus?"

Once again, Vados provided the answer, seemingly enjoying exposing her cat master's weakness. She added, "Isn't it obvious? Just look at their physiques, and you'll know who's stronger."

It was evident that Champa was much heavier than Beerus, so if they were to fight, Beerus would undoubtedly be the more formidable opponent.

Hearing Vados' words, especially as she revealed her master's weakness in front of outsiders, Champa immediately huffed in dissatisfaction.

Having learned of Champa's strength, John Doe and his group couldn't help but turn their attention to Vados, seemingly inquiring about her abilities.

Vados also noticed the curiosity in their eyes and smiled, saying, "I'm Whis' older sister. You tell me, who do you think is stronger, me or Whis?"

Upon hearing Vados' words, Goku couldn't help but exclaim in admiration, "Wow, you're amazing, Miss Vados! I never knew you were even stronger than Mr. Whis!"

Just then, Whis' voice could be heard from a distance, "Sister, I can't agree with you on that. You know, it's been a thousand years since I learned martial arts from you."

As Whis finished speaking, he and Beerus flew over to where the group was gathered.

Vados heard Whis' words and immediately burst into laughter, similar to Whis' own.

Beerus, looking at Champa, asked impatiently, "Champa, why did you come here instead of staying in your Universe 6? You're not welcome here."

Champa, hearing Beerus' words, didn't seem to mind. The two had been competing with each other since birth, and neither would back down just because of a few harsh words.

"Beerus, I came here today to challenge you. I'm telling you, this time you're going to lose," Champa declared.

"A battle?" Goku exclaimed in delight. If he could witness a battle between two Gods of Destruction, his martial arts skills would surely improve significantly.

However, the outcome left them disappointed. Looking at the bubbling Dodon bird eggs, Goku sighed, "What? It's not a battle, but a culinary competition?"

Whis explained to the three of them, "Since Lord Beerus and Lord Champa are twins, their birthdays are naturally on the same day. So, they usually celebrate their birthdays together."

"But once, Lord Beerus ate both of the birthday cakes prepared by Vados, leaving nothing for Lord Champa."

"Lord Champa was furious, and the two Gods of Destruction ended up fighting throughout the universe."

"You should know that Gods of Destruction rarely engage in combat. Even if they do, it should be a small-scale battle. But that time, they both fought with full force, resulting in the destruction of planets and nearly the entire universe they were in."

"Later, Vados and I stopped them. Since their fights were always triggered by food, we set a rule that from then on, all battles between them would be replaced by culinary competitions, and they would never fight each other again."

"Oh, I see. Indeed, we can't let the Gods of Destruction battle each other; it's too dangerous," John Doe nodded in agreement.

Just as Whis finished his explanation, the Dodon bird eggs were cooked. Champa quickly cooled them down with cold water and then distributed them to everyone.

John Doe and his group were fortunate enough to each receive a Dodon bird egg.

They carefully cracked the eggshells, slowly peeling them away to reveal the pristine white egg whites inside.

John Doe placed the egg in his mouth, took a small bite, savored it, and then slowly swallowed.

Well, an egg is an egg, and a simple hard-boiled egg can only taste like an egg. However, it did taste better than an ordinary egg, but only slightly.

Champa eagerly looked at everyone, asking, "Well, isn't it delicious?"

No one spoke, except for Goku, who praised with a smile, "Yes, it's quite good."

But Beerus wasn't going to give Champa any face. He bit into the Dodon bird egg but didn't swallow it. Instead, he spat it into the trash can and said, "This is nothing compared to even the worst food here."

Then Beerus instructed Whis, "Whis, let Champa and Vados taste our worst food, instant noodles, and show them what real food is."

"Okay." Whis waved his staff on the table, and instantly, seven bowls of instant noodles appeared.

Whis then instructed Vegeta, "Vegeta, go get some hot water."

Initially, there were no kettles on the God of Destruction's planet, but later, various kitchen facilities were installed to accommodate the consumption of various delicacies.

Vegeta, upon hearing Whis' instruction, immediately fetched a kettle of hot water from a nearby kitchen.

Beerus turned to Champa and said, "Watch closely. This is how I do it, and you'll do the same."

After saying this, Beerus demonstrated the instant noodle preparation method that John Doe had previously taught him.

Champa and Vados watched, thinking it was simple. Would this food taste good just by soaking it in water?

Champa followed Beerus' instructions with a bit of skepticism.

Then, everyone stared at the clock, watching as the seconds slowly ticked by. After about five minutes, Whis announced, "Time's up! Let's eat."

Beerus, John Doe, and the others immediately opened the lids of the instant noodles and began eating quickly. Beerus and Whis, in particular, had smiles of pure joy on their faces.

Champa hesitantly picked up the instant noodles and ate slowly, but as soon as the first bite entered his mouth, his face lit up with surprise, and he began eating quickly.

Before long, everyone had finished their instant noodles.

Beerus, with a smug look on his face, turned to Champa and said, "Hey, Champa, aren't these instant noodles better than your Dodon bird eggs?"

Champa had no choice but to admit it. Compared to the taste of the Dodon bird eggs, the instant noodles were indeed much better. He reluctantly said, "Hmph, fine, you win this time. But don't get too cocky; next time, I'll be the winner!"

Hearing Champa's words, Beerus immediately burst into arrogant laughter, saying, "Next time, I'm telling you, I'll still win. Watch how I make you give up!"
