Chapter 24: World Tournament Part 2

A/N: I had made changes on the starting chapters

------------

The stadium was packed to the brim with spectators, their cheers filling the air as the first matches of the World Martial Arts Tournament began. The commentator's voice boomed across the arena, heightening the excitement as each fighter prepared for their battles.

"The first match of the day, ladies and gentlemen!" the commentator announced with enthusiasm. "We have the powerful Giran facing off against the young sensation, Goku!"

The crowd roared in anticipation, and Goku walked calmly toward the stage, his face a picture of confidence. He caught a glimpse of Bulma in the stands, her voice rising above the others as she cheered for him. Goku smiled and gave her a quick wave before stepping onto the stage.

Giran was already there, towering over Goku. He was a large, dinosaur-like beast, his bulky frame casting a shadow over the smaller Saiyan. Giran grinned wickedly, showing his sharp teeth, and began his trash-talking routine.

"You think you stand a chance against me, little man?" Giran taunted, his voice booming across the arena. "I'm going to crush you with one blow!"

Goku didn't respond. Instead, he stood still, quietly observing his opponent. He considered using his energy barrier, a technique that would have easily repelled Giran's attacks, but quickly dismissed the idea. This tournament was supposed to be a test of his skills, and using such a technique would make the fight too easy. Goku decided to rely solely on his physical strength and agility.

As Goku stood in silence, Giran mistook his lack of response for fear. The dinosaur-like fighter laughed loudly, confident that his opponent was trembling with fear.

"Scared, huh? Let's see how you handle this!" Giran bellowed, launching himself forward and throwing his strongest punch straight at Goku.

The punch came fast, but Goku was faster. With a subtle movement, he dodged the blow effortlessly. The audience gasped, their eyes widening in surprise. Giran, undeterred, threw another punch, then another, and another, each one more powerful than the last. But Goku continued to dodge, using the smallest of movements to evade every attack.

The commentators and the audience were in awe. "Incredible! Goku is dodging every one of Giran's attacks with minimal effort! This young fighter is something else!"

In the stands, the more experienced fighters watched with keen interest. Master Roshi, disguised as Jackie Chun, rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "This kid… how did Gohan train him to be so fast and controlled?" Roshi wondered. Krillin and Yamcha, too, were impressed, realizing that Goku was on a whole different level from the other fighters in the tournament.

Minutes passed, and Giran began to slow down, his attacks growing sluggish. He was breathing heavily, sweat pouring down his face. No matter what he tried, Goku was untouchable, dodging every attack with ease.

Finally, Giran stopped, his massive chest heaving as he struggled to catch his breath. He stared at Goku, who stood before him, completely unfazed and without a single scratch.

"I… I can't… keep up," Giran panted, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "I surrender."

The referee quickly stepped forward, raising Goku's hand high. "The winner of the match is Goku!"

The crowd erupted into cheers, and Goku gave a polite nod to Giran before stepping off the stage. The victory had come easily, but Goku knew the tournament had only just begun. As he walked back to the waiting area, he passed by Krillin, who was getting ready for his match.

"Krillin," Goku said, catching his friend's attention. "Remember, you don't have a nose, so don't let Bacterian's stink bother you."

Krillin blinked in confusion. "Huh? No nose? What are you talking about?"

"You'll understand when you get up there," Goku replied with a knowing smile, giving Krillin a pat on the back. "Just remember what I said."

Still puzzled, Krillin nodded and made his way to the stage. The crowd was still buzzing with excitement as the commentator introduced the next match.

"And now, we have Krillin from the Turtle School, taking on the foul-smelling Bacterian!"

Bacterian, a large, filthy man with a reputation for using his stench as a weapon, stood on one side of the stage, grinning wickedly. Krillin, looking much smaller by comparison, took his place on the opposite side.

The fight began, and Bacterian wasted no time using his signature move. He unleashed a cloud of his terrible odor, filling the air with the foulest stench imaginable. The audience gagged, covering their noses in disgust. Even the commentator had to take a step back, barely able to continue his commentary through the overwhelming smell.

"Ugh… Bacterian is using his stink as a weapon! How will Krillin handle this?"

At first, Krillin seemed to struggle, waving his hands in front of his face as if to clear the air. Bacterian laughed, confident that his opponent would be incapacitated by the smell. But then, Krillin suddenly remembered Goku's words.

"No nose…" Krillin muttered to himself. "That's right, I don't have a nose!"

With that realization, the stench no longer bothered him. He stood up straight, his face determined, and charged at Bacterian with renewed energy. Bacterian, shocked that his odor had no effect, was caught off guard as Krillin launched a flurry of punches and kicks, quickly overwhelming him.

In a matter of moments, Krillin had Bacterian on the ground, defeated. The referee declared Krillin the winner, and the crowd erupted into applause.

"Krillin wins! What a clever strategy, remembering he doesn't have a nose! Bacterian never stood a chance!"

Krillin walked off the stage, a satisfied smile on his face. He had managed to win his match with a little help from Goku's advice, and now he was moving on to the next round.

As the tournament continued, the excitement only grew. The crowd was eager to see what the next matches would bring, and Goku couldn't wait to face his next opponent. With each victory, the fighters gained more respect from the audience and from each other, but Goku knew the toughest battles were still ahead.
