Final Trial

The next day, after completing her daily tasks, elena took a shower and headed over to the canteen were blood flasks, and lightly grilled meats were being served to the students.

Upon entering into the canteen, Emiera and Lydia both waved to her, signalling for her to join them. They all agreed to sit together after getting their blood flasks and meat.

"Thanks for yesterday, Elena. I appreciate you looking out for me." Lydia said.

"Hnm,I believe the person you should be thanking is Emiera. Apart from showing up to your healing room, I did absolutely nothing," she responded with a blank expression on her face.

Opening her flasks, she took a long sip from it, savouring the amazing taste of its content.

" Well,well, well! I can see you already added an additional member to your loser squad." A girl with a very high-pitched tone voiced out as she came to a halt in front of Elena's table.

Raising her head upwards,there were four girls standing in front of them, elena took note of the one who just called their team "loser squad." It was obvious this was the same girl who had defeated Lydia the previous day.

With her were her little minions. She was already acting like she owned the academy because her father was the combat instructor.

Staring at the intruders with lots of blood lust, Lydia asked, "Why are you here, xen?"

"What do you want this time?"

Xen, who was obviously the leader of this little group and also the cousin and daughter of Lydia's uncle, giggled before answering.

"Well, we saw you and you little friends, and we decided to come remind you all that no one wants you here in the first place."

Lydia and emiera were both angry,and they were both about to explode. Elena, on the other hand, had been silent since the little encounter, infact she has been sipping blood from her flask as if the four vampires were not in front of her.

After sipping the last drop of blood from the flask, she let out a long yawn.

"Raising her head to look at the four of them, she said with an expressionless face,"Scram!" Her eyes were glowing a brilliant red glow.

Xen and her little minions were obviously taken aback by Elena's comments, especially with the glow in her eyes.

No one has ever addressed Xen in such a manner. in fact,everyone has always dotted on her.

But here Elena was talking to her like she was a vermin.

" I'm sure you lots are not deaf, I said scram!."

One of her minions whispered something in her ears,and for some reasons Xen didn't say anything else she left with her minions following closely behind her.

Their little scuffle had already created a scene. Everyone was beginning to talk about how elena had told off the combat instructor's daughter.

Elena, on the other hand, was unbothered. She didn't care about the Academy or the instructors. She just wanted to get stronger.

Though she might not care much about anyone in this new world, she wouldn't allow her acquaintances to be wrongly treated. If it came to standing up for Lydia and Emiera, she would gladly do it.

" Hey dear, mind if I join you guys? Zareth said,the entire time not removing his gaze from Elena." nodding her head, Emiera gave him the go-ahead to join their table.

"I wanted to say what you did just now was amazing, I mean you standing up for yourself like that, Xen has been acting like a demigod since we got here, and I'm happy someone gets to put her in her place." By the way, I'm Zareth," he said while stretching out his hand for a handshake.

Noticing the hand in front of her eyes, elena finally lifted up her head, shaking his hand. She said, "You can call me Elena."She then stood up and excused herself.

"Is she okay?" Zareth asked. [Lydia and Emiera Chuckled] " she's fine. She's just not a people person, I guess," Lydia responded.

A few minutes later, the participants began entering into the trial hall, and Elena was already sitting in the hall.

She just wanted to get the trial over with.

For the final trial, the participants' ranks and rank levels would be tested with the rank testing machines.

The instructors began calling out the names of various students to test their vampire Ranks and levels.

The first name to be called was Lydia's. Standing up, she went into the testing room. A big screen was placed in the trial room, and the screen would display the ranks and levels of each participant after going through the testing phase.

A couple of minutes after Lydia entered the testing rooms, her datas were being displayed on the big screen.

Several other participants also had their Ranks displayed on the big screen.

When it got to Elena's turn, she stood up and went inside the testing room. She saw a machine with an attached transparent tube, and the tube was attached horizontally.

As soon as she stepped into the room, the grumpy voice of the instructor vibrated across the entire room. " Take off your shoes and clothes, step over to the changing room, and put on the designated outfit.

She did as she had been instructed. After putting on the outfit, she stood in front of the instructor, who then asked her to enter into the transparent tube that was attached to the machine.

After stepping into the machine, a white light moved from her head to her feet repeatedly in a very fast motion, this light was used to scan the participants bodies, in other to calculate their Ranks and levels.

The moment the light starts scanning Elena, she receives a system notification.

Alert!

An external system is trying to get host data. Does the host wish to allow the system to get the requested data? Yes. / No.

Seeing the notification, elena was worried. The last thing she wanted was for the scanning device to detect the presence of a system within her.

Not knowing what to do, she decided to ask dracula." Drac, if the machine scans through my body,would it be able to detect the system within me?"

"No, just say yes, since you haven't evolved yet,it would be easy for the system to just scan your rank and Level, you have nothing to worry about," dracula responded.

Letting out a sigh of relief, she said yes to the system options in front of her eyes. At this point, the instructors were beginning to think something was wrong with the machine, seeing as it was taking too long to scan Elena.

Stepping out of the test room, all eyes were on her, and she was shocked seeing the different shades and colours of eyes staring at her .

"What's wrong? Why is everyone staring at me like that," Elena finally asked as she took a seat beside Lydia.

Hnm, pointing to the big screen, she said, "Your rank and level is the reason, I guess."

"Remember how everyone thought you would at least be on the Demon Rank yesterday after you defeated Aruh? It turns out you're just a 2nd level ordinary vampire who defeated a level 2 vampire Mage while also using two abilities, so everyone is surprised and confused." Emiera said with a look of astonishment.

[Chatter!. Chatter. ]

Looking around her, she could see some students pointing at her. Some were even questioning the testing machines if it was accurate.

Not wanting to be the centre of attention, she decided to retire to her room, afterall there were absolutely no rules saying she needed to wait until everyone got tested before she could leave.
