Father and Daughter

If Coral had been at full strength then she may have been able to kill the black panther so Blush did not mention her intervention in the fight.

Coral was given some of the bones and the hide to take back with her to her tribe and they both walked out of the cave towards the direction of the village.

Some tribal tipi tents and a campfire appeared in the distance once they entered an open space after they got closer to the edge of the forest.

The combination of Blush guiding the way using her detection spell and Coral handling any smaller animals made it much easier for them to safely navigate the way there.

There were some people sitting weakly by some wooden spiked fences and there were some wooden boats off in the distance.

It seemed like they had set up the village and were living there for some time but could easily pack up and leave.

The only thing holding them back was that they were far too weak to move around and even their strongest warriors had to stay behind to defend from attacks from others.

They looked over vigilantly once Blush appeared but then frowned once Coral showed herself.

"Coral? You finally returned."

"We told you not to go out."

"The head of the tribe wants to see you."

"Keep the stranger outside."

Coral looked towards them and sighed. "We have no time for this. Do you not see that I have been cured? I brought help so move aside."

One of them spoke up. "Nobody is allowed inside. Tribe leaders orders. Go and see him."

Coral rolled her eyes and turned to Blush. "I will try to convince them."

Blush was left on her own with the weak tribesmen that kept a watch over her, she stood back from them and smiled. "I am here to help so you do not need to be so vigilant."

They remained silent and kept watch over her like they did not believe her or were too busy following the orders of others.

It was clear that she would not be allowed entry until it was approved by others.

Coral was brought to the biggest tipi in the area then entered. "Father, I have returned."

The problem with mind reading one person was that there would only be one viewpoint that came from that person so it did not get the whole picture.

Blush understood that Coral was the daughter of the head of the tribe but she was unable to inherit that position due to her gender and her brother being more favoured.

Coral believed that she was looked down upon and whatever she did would not make a difference to let her gain the approval of her father.

Her own rite of passage was delayed and she had been prevented in her attempts to step up for the sake of the tribe so she had come to view her father and those around her in a certain way.

Her father was the strongest warrior of the tribe but he had his own difficulties and priorities, he was a leader but also a father.

He was the father to two children and had to listen to others for how he ran his own family matters like the matter of inheritance.

Even if he loved his daughter, he had to listen to the advice of the elders of the tribe and to keep his daughter from standing out or facing the dangers of the world.

He looked at his daughter and looked a little surprised but relieved. "You are safe.. that is good but you will have to be punished for disobeying my orders."

He was very muscular and tall with dark skin, dark blue hair and light blue eyes so it was clear that Coral had inherited much from him.

Most of the tribe members had a dark skin tone and light blue eyes while they had dark hair that was blue, black or brown.

He was able to sit up on his bed with his current strength but he did not move around a lot in order to not waste his energy and worsen his situation.

Coral sighed and spoke up. "I cannot do that. If you can see me now then you should realise that I am no longer unwell. I have been successful like I said I would be and I have brought someone back.

She is a travelling doctor that has some understanding to what we are suffering from. If you agree to her request then she is willing to to help our tribe. In exchange for saving me, she needs me to accompany her on her travels so I have decided to join her."

Her father frowned and said. "You are too trusting. She could be the person behind this and you may have given her the opportunity to get what she wants."

Coral shook her head. "She looks nothing like those that attacked us and promises not to ask for anything big. We will be allowed to keep our freedom and do not need to do anything that are against our ways."

Seeing that he was remaining silent, Coral continued to try to convince him. "Please father. We have no other option besides her, you can feel it within you right? This is not an ordinary sickness and it will not be long before we start losing more people.

The weakest and oldest among us are already so close to death and there have been some deaths already. If you do not want to do this for me or the tribe then at least do it to save your sons life."

The tribe leader finally opened his mouth. "I want to meet with her. You can wait outside for now."

He loved his daughter and had faith in her abilities but she was not fit for the role of a leader or a warrior of the tribe.

She followed her own heart and beliefs while she was trusting of others, sometimes it would work out for the best but other times it could put her in harms way.

It would lead to her not following orders well and acting disobediently as a warrior of the tribe and would lead to her not getting along with the elders who provided council to the tribe leader.

His son was not as talented as her when it came to combat abilities and other things but he was far more suited to the position than her and met the specifications that the elders wanted while one of them being that he was a male who inherited his bloodline.

It lead to a complicated father and daughter relationship that had become more distant from the decisions he had to make for the sake of the tribes future and had lead his daughter to believe that he did not like her anywhere as much as her brother was loved.

Blush was soon allowed entry and had began with the negotiations while something else was happening in another location far away.
