Chapter 5 - The family meeting

After the celebration ended, Xingyun went straight to his room and pondered about the message he received. First is the reason why he always bring bad luck to people in his past life, all of it makes sense to him now, even the reason why he always feel a weird connection with Blacky, it's all because of his bloodline, but weirdly Xingyun didn't even feel any negative emotions towards his bloodline, which is the cause of all his misfortunes because without it, he wouldn't have met Blacky.

Because Xingyun is alone in his room now he tried to summon Blacky, he opened his right hand and on his palm a sleeping red two-tailed palm sized cat appeared. Xingyun's eyes softened when he saw this cat, even though it's appearance changed so much he still felt the connection he had with it. While staring at the cat, he vowed to get his spirit ring as soon as possible so it would wake up sooner. Xingyun can't use Blacky's powers at the moment for some reason, he speculated that he can only use Blacky's powers when it awakens.

After a few minutes of staring at Blacky and reminiscing the past, he finally unsummoned the palm sized cat. Xingyun then once again analyzed what God of Fortune told him. God of Fortune said that his original innate spirit power should be 20 not 10 but because it's too dangerous having too high an innate spirit power, God of Fortune lowered his spirit power.

From this, Xingyun speculated that someone in their clan might be a traitor and a spy. Xingyun even thought of the possibility that Mao clan might have existed in the novel but it was eradicated because of a top spirit appearing in the clan. Maybe there's a different Xingyun in the original timeline but because of his excelent talent, the whole clan was eradicated including him. That's why he didn't reveal that he has a second spirit when he was questioned by the elder in charge.

Maybe he should look at the loyalty of everyone in the village again, the last time he looked was when he was 2 years old, that time he roamed the whole village just to check if anyone was suspicious, he did found some at that time and he plotted for them to be kicked out of the clan, which worked wonderfully. He would look at the loyalty of everyone again because it's been almost 4 years since he last did it, maybe in the 4 years many villagers had been swayed by enemy forces and betray them.

After planning the inspection, Xingyun remembered the tip God of Fortune gave to him. Actually he estimated that with his current physique he could absorb 700 year old spirit rings, but because of the tip the God of Fortune gave him, he thought that maybe a 1000 year old spirit ring might not be impossible.

"Maybe I'll just ask uncle to accompany me to get a spirit ring tomorrow", Xingyun pondered. He didn't care if his family saw his Destiny Cat spirit form a blood ring after he absorbed a spirit ring for his Spirit Cat Body, he trusts them wholly and he never keeps a secret from them, except for the fact that he's reincarnated and all the special skills he had. He will tell his family about Blacky tomorrow, he just never found a right timing to tell them about it the whole afternoon, because of the celebration.

After he planned for everything he'll do the coming days, he finally fell asleep.

Like always, Xingyun woke up very early to train his body and try to circulate his enhancement technique. Unlike what happened the past year, where his progress stagnated, right now his stagnated technique began to progress again. His Way of the Cat technique is still progressing smoothly, and he discovered the reason why his Grandpa Fang is the most advanced in the technique in the whole clan even though he's not the strongest, Spirit Cat Body is just too compatible with the technique. His Shadow Cat Steps is also improving faster than before because of his improved physique. When he trained Cat Imitation Circulation Technique he decided to stagnate the circulation progress of his 6 other body parts for now and focused on circulating on his two new body parts, which is his whiskers and his two tails fro the two new body parts to have equal circulations with the other body parts, he estimated that it would take him 1 month to finish it. Lastly, he felt like in the Cat Battle Style some of the difficult stances he barely managed to do before is slightly easier to do now because of his new and better physique which focuses on speed and flexibility.

After he finished his morning training, his little sister went to the courtyard where he was and reminded him of the breakfast, "Yun gege! mama is calling you for breaskfast!".

Xingyun smiled when he saw the little angel then he picked her up, "So, what does Bo'er think of gege's spirit? Is it awesome?", he asked her.

"Of course!Yun gege in my spirit awakening do you think I'll also have a tail lime you?", Bao'er replied while looking at Xingyun's swaying tails, her eyes full of expectations.

"Gege is not sure, but gege is still sure that Bao'er will also have an awesome spirit", Xingyun said, making Bao'er more expectant of her awakening, after a few more minutes of idle talk they reached the dining table where their parents are then they harmoniously started their breakfast.

After eating Xingyun asked his father, "Dad do you think you can call Grandpas, Grandma and Uncle for a family meeting anytime today? I just have something that I have to show you guys", Mao Feng is slightly surprised by his son's request but agreed anyway.

Mao Feng gathered the whole family on his office and waited for Xingyun's news. In the six years that passed Mao Feng reached rank 68 while Mao Juan reached rank 59 just one rank away to reach Spirit Emperor, Mao Li, Xingyun's uncle reached rank 55 then his Grandpas Mao Chen and Li Fang both advanced 1 rank and his Grandma Mao Li advanced by 2 ranks.

Xingyun looked at everybody in the room and then said, "Actually I don't have only one spirit I have a second one", then he opened his palm and the palm sized sleeping Blacky appeared.

"Kitty!", Bao'er shouted then ran towards Xingyun and reached out for the kitty excitedly, which Xingyun gave.

Everyone in the room except Bao'er who was excitedly playing with the cat was shocked. Even though spirit masters who had twin spirits exists, they've never seen one in real life, that's why they are shocked. When they looked at the kitty again and see the appearance of it, they finally realized why the color of Xingyun's mutation is red, then they became more shocked because it doesn't look like a spirit at all it looks like a very small cat spirit beast, they've never seen any spirit like that in their life. All the adults were speechlessly staring at the sleeping cat in Bao'er's hands.

"It's name is Destiny Cat, that's all I know for now, I don't know how to use it at all", Xingyun lied, even though he trusts them, he just can't divulge to anyone the extraordinariness of Blacky for now. When they heard what Xingyun said, all the adults snapped out from their reverie and smiled widely at Xingyun, even though they don't know what kind of spirit it was, just the thought of having a twin spirit spirit master in their family overjoyed them.

"Ehem, Yun'er right now it doesn't matter that you don't know what kind of spirit it is, just put all your focus on your Spirit Cat Body for now then add spirit rings on your Destiny Cat when your rank is high enough and you can absorb older spirit rings", Grandpa Mao Chen said and all the adults nodded. "Yun'er if you want I can accompany you to search for spirit rings in Star Dou Forest", Grandpa Mao Chen suggested, which Xingyun agreed with.

"Father, can we keep my Destiny Cat spirit a secret from the other clan members? I'm just worried we will suffer consequences if too many people knows that our clan gave birth to a twin spirit spirit master", Xingyun solemnly said.

"Of course, that's what I'll do anyway even if you didn't tell me to do it, good thing that you didn't expose it on your spirit awakening", Mao Feng seriously said, which earned nods and agreement from everyone.

"Bao'er this is our family secret okay? promise to never tell your friends anything about kitty", Xingyun seriously said to Bao'er.

"Okay Yun gege Bao'er will never tell anyone about kitty I promise!", Bao'er cutely stated while standing upright.

Everyone laughed then the meeting ended and Mao Chen and Xingyun went to Star Dou Forest to finally search for his first spirit ring.
