Chapter 4 : New Student

"where did you go young lady?" My dad stood by the stairs with his arms crossed. I looked at him as i stood at my spot.

"I-I was over at Zeke's house and spent the night there..." i explained with a soft voice as my dad slowly walked over to me. He is gonna yell at me isn't he...

"Why did you go over there for? You stayed over without even calling to tell me?!" I flinched at my dads sudden shouting, he raised his hand in the air, slapping me across the face, i didn't even have time to react.

"I-I just went there to do some project with him..." I held my left cheek in pain, the stinging pain made my cheek red.

"went there, do some project? then why are you wearing his clothes huh?!" My dad questioned, looking mad with anger shown in his eyes.

"At least I came home right? I didn't go missing." I talked back to my dad with courage, glaring back at him.

"Like I said, you don't have to care whether or not if he likes you, you don't have to be friends with him. You just stay for the wealth and you dare talk back to me young lady?!"

"I don't care about that...I just want to be-" He slapped me again, pulling my hair back harshly making me face him.

"Shut up and just be like your sister...so be good." he glared at me as i groaned from the pain. My dad pushed me aside aside hard enough, making me fall to the ground with a loud thud.

"useless child..." He gave me one last glare before leaving the house to who knows where. i was left on the floor, i quietly stood up, tears were threatening to come out but i held it in.

I hurried to my room and changed into some comfortable clothes, fixing myself then went out of the house. I went to the nearby mart to get myself some sweets and milk to calm myself, I sighed.

I woke up as my alarm chimed for me to wake up, the sky was bright and ever so clear. I looked over to see that Clover wasn't beside me, i guess she has already went home. I got out of bed, tired since i didn't get much sleep from last night, i blushed, remembering what happened.

"ughh..."

I yawned, standing up to go get myself freshened up, when i was done, i noticed a small sticky note stuck onto the wall mirror. I took it out, reading it.

"tsk..." I crumpled the paper as I brought it out of the room with me. I threw the paper away into the dustbin that was in the kitchen. I looked around the house and saw that the plant Clover brought over was still in the house.

"Ugh that girl didn't take the plant home..." I muttered, rolling my eyes. I looked at the wall clock and there was still time before school starts, I decided to go get dressed and go get myself some breakfast outside.

I went to a store nearby my place and got myself some sandwiches with some coffee. I ate while walking to school, passing the park on the way. I often pass by the park when i walk to school like this.

The scenery and greens are familiar, the river flowed smoothly, looking clear and blue just like the beautiful sky. its so calming and nice with the wind that blows.

"ah, hey Zeke!" I turned to the voice that called out to me and unexpectedly it was a friend of mine.

"Oh hey Matteo, when did you get back to this city?" Matteo was a long time friend of mine, he moved to another place and it's been long since i had seen him.

"Where are you headed to this early in the morning?" I asked, knowing that Matteo wasn't really a morning type of person. He swung his arm over my neck and smiled.

"I'm transferring to your school as a new student! can't you tell?"

"what really-? and how would i know...our school doesn't really have uniforms." Matteo nodded his head in excitement.

"still the lame old Zeke, i know~" I glared at him, smiling. we chatted till both of us got to the schools entrance and I showed him the way to the office.

I walked to school after having a little time of drinking my milk, i could hear the sounds of cars driving pass, the sound of people talking. Soon enough I reached the schools front gate.

"hey Clover!" I saw Millie waving happily at me from a distance inside the school. I smiled, walking towards her.

"good morning~"

"good morning to you too Clover and have you heard that there is a new student in the school?" Millie exclaimed, new student? Well, I can hear the murmurs of students down the hallways about something.

"there's a new student? Who?"

"I'm not too sure but I'm heard it from some of the students. They said the new students a boy." Millie explained, making me curious. It's been a long time since our school has accepted any new students to the school since it was kinda full.

"Well okay...people seem to be interested in talking about that new student huh...?"

"well who knows." Millie shrugged her shoulders.

"we should get to class, I'll see you later during lunch?" Millie nodded, we went separate ways to our classes.

As I stepped into class, i noticed that Zeke was already in class and there was someone sitting on my seat. I walked over and the guy stared at me.

"Good morning Zeke~" I smiled at him but he ignored my presence and continued talking to the guy on my seat. The guy didn't seem familiar to me, i have never seen him before in school before, his the new student isn't he...?

"oh I'm sorry, is this your seat?" The guy stood up, apologizing to me.

"o-oh yea, it's okay~ you can sit with him, I'll just go sit at the back seat." I smiled warmly at the new guy, since there was another table that was empty behind them. It was left there since the school somehow had extra tables and chairs.

"I'm Matteo, nice to meet you."

"I'm Clover, nice to meet you too?" I smiled awkwardly and Zeke sat at his seat staring at us in silence.

"Your pretty cute, who's your soulmate?" Matteo smiled, asking. i looked over at Zeke for help but he looked away, out the window instead.

"Ummm..."

"oh~ it must be Zeke, isn't it~?"

"everyone sit down, I'll need to do attendance taking!" I sighed in relief that the teacher came in just in time. I sat down at my original seat as Matteo went to sit down behind us in the empty seat.

"okay it seems that everyone's here and I would like to announce that we have a new student in class, please introduce yourself." Matteo stood up and introduced himself to the class. I glanced over at Zeke, he seemed a little quieter than usual today.

"hey are you okay?" I asked but he ignored me and looked out the window. I sighed and just left him alone, letting him have his own personal space.

I reached into my bag for the sweets that i bought this morning, I took out a grape flavoured lollipop and placed it on his table. Zeke looked at the lollipop then at me, i just smiled at him, mouthing 'for you'.

"With just a little time, he will open up to me, I know he will, hopefully..." i thought, sighing before smiling to myself.
