34. Intruder not?

Clover slipped from the floor being wet as she just came out from the shower, making me fall along with her.

"What on earth do you think you're doing..."

"I-I'm sorry, I think I didn't dry myself well..." She apologized quickly, her body pressed against mine and her hair was making my shirt wet from the water droplets. I could smell the strawberry scent that was coming from her hair, it was nice to the nose.

I stared down at her before quickly looking away, doesn't she know that she looks defenseless right now and it ain't nowhere near good? She lifted herself up, away from me as I was trapped under her, in between her hands.

"Mind if you-" I got cut off when Clover smashed her lips against mine, my eyes widened but soon got taken into the passionate kiss. I tried pushing her away from me but she pressed me down to the floor, her hands were on my chest, still.

Once our lips parted, we stared at each other for a second before she smiled at me, her eyes darted down to my lips once again. Using her fingers, she brushed past my lips gently.

"You know...I love you a lot..." She spoke up before getting off of me and standing up, holding onto the doorway for support. I stood back up on my own two feet and walked out of her room as she went in, past me but somehow I grabbed onto her wrist, making her face me.

"What is it? If it's about the kiss, I'm sorry. I was probably just in my own dream world-"

"Do you mean what you said?"

"Huh?"

"You said you love me, you mean it?" I don't know why I asked but she avoided my eye contact and nodded her head slowly.

"I do..."

"Don't, just don't love me, it's useless...and I hate it." I seriously said it to Clover as she slowly turned her head towards me, her eyes were suddenly cold ice-like, and stared at me with a straight face.

"You shouldn't disregard someone's love like that and tell them to not love you when they do...so don't disregard my love like that so easily..."

"Whatever..." I let go of her wrist and stepped out of her room fully.

"Then tell me...just now when you kissed me back...did you mean that kiss...?" I froze in the spot, I kissed her back? I did that?

"It meant nothing so don't think too much about it." I left her alone and went down to her living room, sitting myself down on the couch and laid back on it comfortably.

"Maybe I should just head home, she should be fine on her own now...she didn't seem to have any problems with her ankle just now," I mumbled out to myself as I closed my eyes for a short while.

I rested on the couch for a little while before getting up and took my bag, walking over to the door. I silently wore my shoe and headed right out after, I'm not staying overnight at Clovers.

I went back to my house and didn't bother telling Clover that I left since I think she isn't deaf enough to not hear the door close right.

As Zeke left my room, he shut the door. I wasn't too surprised that he said all of that but I want him to at least try to understand my feelings a little...I don't want much from him, just his love.

I frowned before making my way towards my closet slowly and found some random pajamas to wear.

"Nothing new today but it's not my day..." I muttered out to myself as I looked into my standing mirror. I was minding my own business, looking at myself when suddenly, I heard a loud crash from downstairs.

It sounded like an object had dropped onto the floor or something made out of glass had just broke to make that screeching loud sound.

"Don't tell me Zeke broke one of my plates..." I went over to my door and peeked out to check my hallway. That's odd, there was no one walking around nor were there any sounds of footsteps.

I wonder who would be here at this timing? Could it be Zeke, did he leave? I wanted to call out to him but my gut feeling is telling me not to do it. I felt like whoever is in my house now isn't Zeke and I'm sure of it.

So instead, I went over to my study table and got scissors from my stationary rack. I think it's best to keep my defenses up when I'm the one who's injured here...so I'm obviously the one at disadvantage.

I peeked out of the door and there was a moment of silence when I heard shuffling noises as if someone was trying to find something while walking around loudly.

Please don't be a burglar or some sort, I don't have the money to be paying for a new godamn window since I don't think burglars know how to use a door instead they just jumping through a window.

I quietly walked down the steps and for a split second, I saw some shadowy figure flash past into the kitchen. This feels like a crime thriller here...

"No, not my kitchen..." I mumbled out softly as I made my way down and the shuffling noises stopped. I scanned the whole area in my house and there was no one in sight, they couldn't have just vanished into thin air right-

I carefully walked into the kitchen and everything was in place except for a broken plate that was on the floor. Great...like I guessed, my poor plate.

Whoever it is, they are clumsy as heck enough to break a plate at the dining table when all my plates are by the sink plate holder-

I sighed and lowered down the scissors in my hand. I looked back at my front door and everything was fine, even the window.

"Was it just me- Mhmmmh!!" Suddenly a strong force held me as a hostage like placing a cloth over my nose and mouth. I struggled to release myself from the person.

I gathered all my strength, grabbing the person by the arm that was holding me, around the neck, and threw the person over my shoulders. I gasped for air as the cloth got removed, allowing me to breathe in the pure oxygen before I could possibly pass out.

The person wore all black and had a mask on, covering their face, the person even had a cap that was now off their head as I threw that person onto the ground.

"The hairstyle looks familiar..." I muttered out. The house is probably shining too brightly like me, maybe that's why he or she is wearing a cap.

The person got up quickly and launched towards me while taking out a sharp object from their pocket, trying to get me down.

I used one of my hands to grab their hand that was holding the sharp object, stopping it before they get to me.

The thing the person was holding seemed to be a knife, the knife was some cm away from my face as I tried my best to hold on. My other held tightly onto my scissors and held it at the person, straight in the face.

'Who are you..." I asked politely since I don't wanna enrage the person in front of me that is now trying hard to stab me but I guess this person does not wanna talk either.

"Do I have to make you talk?" I asked again, this time, twisting the wrist that held the knife. The person groaned and dropped the knife on the floor, I'm guessing this person was a guy from that figure of his.

"You work out, don't you? Look at those muscles." I poked the guy's muscular arm with my scissors as he tried to get rid of my grip on his wrist. I turned my attention back to the guy's face, glaring at him.

"I wonder if I sliced your arms, would your blood come gushing out, flooding my house?" I joked as I chuckled lightly. I know I shouldn't be joking at this time with someone who is trying to murder me but I can't help it.

"Let me ask again...who are you and what in the night are you doing in hell? I'm sorry to say but this isn't heaven for your information, if you want to go to heaven just get out of here and stand there, you know there and maybe you'll go to heaven soon." I stated out, pointing towards the road with cars that were barely passing by.

"Actually no, I don't think you'll get to go to heaven since you broke into my house, but this is not the hell for you. I don't know how but you didn't use the door nor break my window, which that is a good thing but don't tell me you dropped from the great sky through my roof?"

I asked again as I looked up, checking my roofs to see if there were any holes up there, in case this guy really did come, dropping through my roof like magic.

I heaved a sigh of relief when there wasn't any damage done to the roofs, door, and windows. Which made me stare back at the guy, smiling evilly.

"Now tell me how in the hell you got in here while I'm still nice." I waited patiently for an answer but all I got was silence which made me sigh and lowered my head.

"I didn't know burglars are mute but if you're not gonna speak then..." I stared at the guy in front of me, my eyes drifted down to his mask. I raised the scissors in my hand and cut the mask in half.

"Oh it's you...how did you know my address, huh?"
