The Bird

"Even I'm surprised. Am I too talented?" Ichigo asked himself.

"I would have scoffed at you if I had heard something like that coming out of you before seeing what you've done just now." Yoruichi said before continuing "Alright so that you don't forget this feeling continue practising this spell. You might aswell use this opportunity to test your limit."

"On it." Ichigo said after listening to Yoruichi's instructions. For the next few minutes, he kept on firing the Shakkaho spell one after another decimating all the vegetation around him. This led to Yourichi stopping him after a while not because Ichigo seemed to be overexerting himself but because of the huge decrease in the number of trees that were in this area of the forest. She couldn't help but feel a bit jealous of the amount of spiritual power he possesses. Especially the fact that it would keep on increasing with time the more he practised it.

"That should be enough for today. Remember to not practice this spell in front of the public or you might cause a massacre I know you're not dumb enough to try it but still I'm saying it. I'll talk with someone so that I can train you in a much more suitable area in the future." After saying what she had to say Yoruichi disappeared from there.

Seeing the figure of Yoruichi's cat form that was in front of him a few seconds ago disappear in a flash Ichigo wiped off the droplets of sweat that had collected on his forehead as he sat on the ground to take a breather. After taking a breather Ichigo went back to his home. Yoruichi had deliberately called him out early in the morning so that there won't be much chance of him being seen by people while practising.

When he reached back home it was around seven in the morning and he quickly got ready for school. After eating breakfast he proceeded to his school. On the way to the school unlike usual he met chad on the way. Chad always used to be the first one to arrive at the classroom which meant that he used to go to school much earlier.

"Hey, Chad! You're running late today?" Ichigo asked as he walked towards Chad who was waiting for him at the intersection. As he came closer to Chad Ichigo saw a bird that he was carrying in a small cage. Seeing the bird Ichigo was immediately reminded of the soul of the child that was trapped in this parakeet.

"Well, I got injured..." Chad said as he told him about how a steel girder fell on him which led to him resting a bit more than usual at night and him being a bit late.

Ichigo couldn't help but be impressed by his physique because he would have surely died if the iron beam had fallen on him. "It's good that you're okay man. Though your physique never ceases to amaze me." Ichigo said to which Chad gave him a typical chad-like thumbs-up. The parakeet after noticing that Chad was friends with the other person started talking "Hello, my name is Yuichi Shibata, what's your name?"

"I'm called Ichigo." Ichigo replied to which the parakeet replied "Nice to meet you Ichigo-san."

Soon Ichigo and Chad were on their way to the school as both of them didn't want to end up late. On the way to the school, Ichigo heard a honking noise from behind them making the two of them turn their head. The bike rider seeing that he got their attention shouted at the top of his lungs "MOVE ASIDE! THE BRAKES FAILED!" One could clearly see the fear on the face of the rider as he shouted those words.

Chad was about to block the bike with his body to save the rider but that was when Ichigo jumped towards the rider and pushed him off the bike, they both fell and rolled down on the ground.

The bike with no one controlling it anymore started wobbling and lost its balance before skitting on the ground for a distance leaving sparks behind.

Rolling on the ground prevented Ichigo and the rider from getting serious wounds. Both of them only suffered from a few scratches.

Chad rushed towards them and after observing that their wounds were not serious helped them to stand up on their foot.

The man was thankful to Ichigo for saving him and wanted to give Ichigo and Chad a treat for their but he gave the excuse of them getting late for school and left leaving the man disappointed.

"Does it hurt too much?" Chad asked Ichigo looking at the blood coming out of the cuts in his arm.

"Nah, it's bearable. Besides that, Chad you need to use more of your brain in these situations. If I was not there I could bet that you were planning to stop the bike with your body which would end up injuring you quite considerably. Doing it like how I did would not only save the man but also resulted in me getting the least amount of injury I could get in that particular situation.

"You're right Ichigo," Chad said as he started processing what Ichigo said and then thanked him for it.

The two of them soon reached the school in time and curious gazes started coming towards them because of their appearance. Chad's bandages were eye-catching and it was the same for the fresh injuries on Ichigo.

"Kurosaki kun! What happened to you and Sado kun?" Inoue asked as she rushed towards them with a worry-filled gaze the moment they entered the classroom.

"It's nothing it's just...." Ichigo explained the situation to her as more and more classmates started crowding around him to listen in on him. After satiating their curiosity and praising him for his act they all say back as the homeroom teacher soon arrived.

The teacher was surprised to see the injuries on Ichigo and Chad but the class representative was fast enough to answer his doubts before he could verbally say them out.

Understanding the situation the teacher said "I'm glad that we have such brave students like you in our school. Ichigo and Sado Kun why don't you go to the infirmary to take care of your wounds and rest there for a while if need be?"

Seeing the generous offer from the teacher how could Ichigo and Chad refuse? Both of them soon left the classroom and proceeded towards the infirmary.
