Chapter 15: Victory

The jaguar hit Chen with it's paws and used one of it's antennas to whack klaus's hand before charging at Klaus and hitting him to the ground, both their weapons dematerialized, Klaus tried to get up to continue but his legs felt rubbery, he leaned on a tree for support, chen had already given up and lay on the ground staring at the skies, all the effort he had put into combating the juaguar was futile and he was beyond exhausted, prince and Victor were the only ones left, they both faced summoned their knives and faced the jaguar, the jaguar started charging towards them, they crouched and put themselves in a defensive position to guard of any attacks the jaguar was about to make. The jaguar rushed at prince and clawed at his arms, Victor used this opportunity to throw his knives at the jaguar, the jaguar leapt back and managed to avoid the attack albeit slightly.

"Nothing seems to be working, how do we deal with an animal that seems to have no weakness, everyone has been knocked out, are we really going to become food for this animal" prince lampooned while gasping for breath

"We can't give up now, we just have to try our best, we might get a solution to defeating it accidentally" Victor replied

"I find it funny that these guys claim to have been with the army, they can't seem to think outside the box, they also find it very difficult to spot obvious problemd, it shouldn't be that difficult to spot that the jaguar must have uses for it's antennas, if they all get knocked out, then I would have to take action" Feng thought while shaking his head at the group in disbelief.

While Victor and prince were discussing and had their guards slightly let down the jaguar ambushed them from behind and clashed hard into victor, Victor was knocked out, prince was in disbelief the jaguar had picked out all of them so easily, all their plannings were in vain, whatever measure they put in place were useless, in less than a second he too was sent flying, the last thing he saw before he blacked out was the jaguars teeth, the jaguar was about to sink it's teeth into prince's neck, Feng was about to intervene but before he could move he heard three recurrent gunshots.

Bryan was knocked out first so he had recovered for quite a while, he decided to observe the movement of the jaguar to ascertain it's weak points he noticed that before the jaguar moved to evade an attack it's tentacles seemed to twitch like it was searching for a signal, so he decided to try his luck and aim at them, he shot the first bullet as a decoy and used the other two shots to take out a huge chunk of the jaguars tentacles, both tentacles were reduced to shorts stubs in the twinkling of an eye, the jaguar roared in pain and charged towards Bryan, but before it could reach him Klaus intercepted it and punched the jaguar at the side, he could feel the ribs crack underneath his fist, the jaguar growled in pain and leapt back looking for an avenue to retreat but Chen was having none of it, he summoned his knives and charged the jaguar head on and sliced at the jaguar repeatedly till he was satisfied, he then walked back to the group with his face and arms stained in blood.

Feng was so amazed at Bryan's precision and accuracy, he was even more surprised by the fact that Bryan deduced the weakness of the jaguar, he thought they would all be knocked out and he would have to step in to help them, he began to see these group of people in a new light.

"We would wait for Victor and prince to recuperate then we would continue our journey, hope that is alright with you" Feng asked

"We have no problem with that" Chen replied

At that moment he seemed to have received a notification from the system but he was to lazy to take a look at it, since he felt exhausted both mentally and physically, he just lay down to rest. After a while he could feel someone poking at him

"What is it" chen turned and asked the person poking him, he couldn't see the face clearly because it was obscured by darkness but he was well aware of who it was

"Get up bro let's move, we have been here for a while now and everyone is up already, Feng said that we get moving or we might be attacked by something worse than the snow jaguar" prince said

Chen thought about their encounter with that jaguar and hurriedly got up and trudged behind the group, he knew how much the encounter with the jaguar took from him, if that jaguar hadn't lost is antenna Chen knew there was no way they would have won that fight, this was the first time he had encountered real danger on the island and he had been so weak to do anything against it, he had to get stronger so he could defend himself, especially if there were creature worse than the jaguar roaming about.

Brayn could be seen gloating and bragging about his shot to everyone who cared to listen.

"You guys know I saved you from certain death right? Without me you guys are finished" Bryan boasted once again

"We have heard this many times and we are tired of hearing it, weren't you the first person who got knocked out, moreover we both know that was amoucky short" Victor replied to him

"You are just being jealous because I am the best shot here, you all should be grovelling at my feet for saving your lives" Bryan joked once more

"Enough of that, we are very close to the jungle now, in about thirty minutes we would be there so I suggest you save whatever it is you want to say for now till we get to our destination" Feng said dismissively

The group continued further with little to no conversations between each other.

"Here we are" Feng annouced with a smile on his face
