"Do you like it?" Justin asked as soon as they entered the club and sat on one of the seats near the window.
She looked at the singer who was singing soft songs along with the pianist and smiled before nodding.
"It's calming. Thank you for bringing me here," she blinked at Justin, genuinely happy.
"I am glad you liked it. The food is even better. You should try their white sauce pasta. I came here alone a few days ago, and I immediately knew this would be the best place to dine when you are on a date or just dining with a couple of friends," he said, looking at the menu, and Evangeline supported her face on her hand, looking at the boy in front of her.
If only she hadn't had a feud with this family, the members weren't exactly bad. They knew how to treat women and were almost gentlemen.
Even though every rumor about Alexander has been about how he doesn't think twice before loading a bullet in your brain, he was quite easy and fungoing too.
Even Benjamin didn't look like the bad guy.
It was hard to decipher if they were really the bad guys and one of them was the same person who conspired and helped Bellatrix in tricking her and humiliated her that way.
Among the three of them, Benjamin looks more convenient to be the bad guy here.
After all, he was the only one who was currently associated with that girl.
Bellatrix was one of the star trainees in his company, and judging from how the company was favoring her by giving her the best projects according to her maturity level and the director's needs, he surely looked like the guy who must've helped her in everything.
Starting from her humiliation to her almost death, Benjamin looks like the main culprit in this scenario, but nothing is sure.
Maybe one of the brothers here is included in this crime, and because it's related to his brother, Benjamin gave her a position in the company.
Everything seems complicated even when she is spending almost all her time with these brothers.
"Evangeline? Are you listening?" Justin asked, bringing her out of her thoughts.
She smiled.
"Of course, I am listening to you. It's cute how you are rambling about how nice this place is as if your daddy is the owner of it and you are the designated manager," Evangeline mused, and heat crept up Justin's neck.
"Hey, I was just-"
"Sharing your experience?" Evangeline added, and Justin hummed, tilting his head before he leaned back in his seat.
"You know you are the first girl who manages to catch me off guard with her choice of words like this," Justin commented, and Evangeline gave him a lopsided smile.
"Well, if you want, I can also be the girl who can guard you," she winked at him, and Justin chuckled before shaking his head.
"Now I know why my brother thinks you will allure me in your traps. I can see that happening," Justin flirted back, and Evangeline grinned.
"Don't let your brother hear this sentence, or I swear my body will be found floating on the shore of some island," Evangeline said, deliberately using the floating words to see if Justin would have any kind of reaction to it.
"Geez, he is not that bad. The most he will do is bury you 6 feet under the ground or burn you in some big-ass furnace. As far as I know, my brother doesn't like keeping loose ends," Justin said as if it was the most normal thing to say to a woman.
"I haven't heard a man he has left to live just to tell the tales. All the rumors come from the men who don't know what happened to their friends once they get into Alexander's den," Justin said thoughtfully, and Evangeline nodded at herself thoughtfully.
If she believes Justin's words, Alexander is definitely not the guy who would just let his man throw her into the ocean. There is no way those moralless goons belonged to Alexander's gang either.
Does that mean she should keep Alexander out of her suspicion?
"What are you thinking?" Justin asked when he saw her getting lost in her thoughts, and she shook her head.
"I am just wondering if what you are saying is to calm me and give me some kind of assurance, or to make me more worried about my life," Evangeline said.
"I am just kidding. He won't hurt you. He can be quite illogical at times, and I must say that this is the first time he has been so strange with me befriending someone, but he wouldn't hurt an innocent soul even if it's his life against that soul," Justin smiled, the pride for his brother clear on his face, and Evangeline hummed.
"Why don't you order the food? I'll just come back after using the restroom," Evangeline said, and Justin nodded.
"Do you mind anything or any allergies?" Justin asked just in case, and Evangeline shook her head.
"Just don't order any strong alcohol for me. I don't like drinking too much," Evangeline said, and Justin made an okay sign with his hands.
The smile on Evangeline's face dropped as soon as she turned around and walked to the washroom.
She entered one of the cubicles and dialed the same number she had been in contact with earlier.
She had received the message earlier that she should call him urgently, and she knew it must've been something important or he wouldn't make a mistake like this.
"Hello? What is it?" She asked, going straight to the point.
"Did you know?"
"Did I know what?"
"That the the Python gang is looking for the man too?" The man hissed, and Evangeline narrowed her eyes.
"And what is that supposed to do with me?" She asked, still confused about why he was being so hyper about it.
"Well, those people were already there before I could enter the room under the disguise of the doctor to install the cameras. You have no idea how hard it was for me to get out of there," the man said, and Evangeline sighed.
"Were you able to do the job or will you be able to do it in the future or not? Just give me precise answers," She asked.
"I swear you are worse than Jordon. Do you not have any idea that the Python gang is the number one gang right now in the country? This man was under their radar for quite some time. Some kind of drug dealing animosity. If they came to know you are related to him, they will come for you next," The man said, and Evangeline sighed.
"I guess it was a waste of time believing you," Evangeline said.
"I did it, okay? But I was only able to place the microphone," The man said.
"That's more than enough. Send me your charges," she said before ending the call and using the washroom.
She washed her hands and was about to turn around the corner when someone held her hand and slammed her on the wall, placing their hand on her shoulder and their leg between her legs, making her raise her eyes.
"It was really bold of you to think that you'll single out my brother here, and I won't know about it," Alexander said, leaning into her, their faces only inches apart, and she gulped, looking straight into his eyes.
If it had been any other person, she would've already hit him back and thrown him on her shoulders, but for some reason, she couldn't even think of doing it with him.
What the hell? She widened her eyes when he cupped her cheeks and leaned forward as if wanting to kiss her.
