Were Oh Were

Running out of the inn up, we split up, heading in opposite directions. I head to the castle in case there are any vampires around there. I jump on top of roofs, jumping from building to building.

I see a bat flying past me toward where I came. (Wait, don't tell me.) I swiftly turn around and follow the bat. As I follow it, I hear a high-pitched scream turning my head. I lose sight of the bat.

I decide to go the direction I heard the scream come from seeing the group also coming to the source of the sound there lying Gabe looking as if all his blood had been drained, very skinny and pale.

"Piro, use some healing magic on him. Nux, use your eyes to find a trail!" Julian ordered, glancing around. I see foot steps outlined in shimmering light.

"Found it follow me." I run following the trail the others apart from Piro following behind a few minutes I follow the trail till it leads to a fountain spewing blood.

"The footsteps end here. How did they just disappear?" I ask, looking around frantically, seeing a small glimmer of a fingerprint on the side of the fountain.

I press it, the fountain sliding to the side, revealing steps down into the depths. Blue flames lit candles covered the walls we end up in a vast room with a long blood soaked carpet leading to a throne of bones.

Five vampires come out of the dark corners of the room. "Let's get this over with. Holy restraint!" Chains shoot towards the vampire as they turn into bats to evade.

Flying toward us, they turn back into their humanoid form, attacking us, their overwhelming strength and speed overpower Lia and Trevor, easily knocking them to the side.

Scuttles entraps a vampire in its mouth chest, but he's pried open from the inside.

"Did you think underground the moon wouldn't strengthen us? You've made a mistake coming down here." One vampire hissed.

Trevor enchants his blade and Lia's arrows in flame as Frank screams, attracting all the vampires to him. He goes into berserk mode, his muscles tensing blood boiling.

The vampires gather around his Lia, starts shooting at them with her arrows as one pounces at Frank head on.

He grabs them by their throat and rips their head off with his bare hands. Another appears behind him, biting his neck. Screaming in agony as the vampire's throat burns from the blood.

Julian and Trevor rushes in, slicing at the vampires, their wounds healing unless cauterized. I look over to Julian coating her sword in flames also I pour my mana into my blade, it shining a bright white light as it's infused with holy magic.

The five vampires left forget about Frank and turns their focus on us. One charging Trevor as he blocks the vampire's bite with his blade, enhancing the fire melting the vampire's head entirely, his pants, having lost a lot of mana.

Lia's arrows lose their flame, and she's tackled to the ground by two vampires. While Julian, Trevor and Frank focus on the three other vampires, I rush to Lia.

Cutting the vampire with my sword, the holy light runs through the vampire, making his bones soft as butter. I slice him completely in half.

I help Lia up, turning around seeing Frank rip another vampire apart before kneeling down exhausted.

"Come on, guys its five vs two now we got this just a little longer!" Julian shouts, followed by maniacal laughter above.

I looked up immediately to see two vampires on the ceiling. One very with some muscles on him extremely pale with the reddest eyes I've ever seen.

The other is a bulky, hairy man with sharp claws clinging to the ceiling from his feet. He drops down with a loud thud. His accomplice appearing right next to him like teleportation.

"My name is Duo, and my hairy friend here is my greatest experiment. Linex, he's a vampire werewolf hybrid. I've been watching you all in the inn. At the mage's tower and when you murdered my brother Bio. That's why I took care of the person who killed him first. Now it's time for the rest of you to die. Leave that one for me, Linex." He points at me and disappears, stabbing his nails in my back, sucking out blood.

I yelp in pain, swinging my sword back Duo disappearing again. Growing aggravated, I encompass the surrounding area in flames protecting me.

Above me once again, he laughs, falling on top of me using a magic shield to protect him.

Frank and Lia fighting the werepire that's strength is immense. His claws shattering their weapons and armor. Trevor and Julian finish their vampires to help the others.

Duo thing to stab me multiple times with his claws, I fly up. Disappearing from sight again, I look around frantically activating my eyes in the process.

I see a shining outline approach me extremely fast swiping at me. I duck quickly.

(So he isn't teleporting, just turning invisible and flying around fast.)

"Guess my little illusion won't work on you anymore, all well I don't need it." He proclaims, rushing toward me. Swinging his hand, scarring my chest. (It's not healing?)

Duo smiles eerily as he notices I'm surprised. He flies toward me chasing me around the chamber.

(Nux, calm down your not healing fast because he's imbued with dark magic. Since your demonic side is sealed it'll take longer to heal and my holy magic can't heal it well so stay focused.)

I snap around casting a barrage of icicles that barely penitrate his skin. He catches up and grabs my arm trying to break it I use all my strength to keep my arm firm but it snaps under the pressure. My screams echoing though the place.

As I fall to the ground the vampire standing on top of me before a flail hits him in his side and an onslaught of holy magic is fired towards him. Piro and Gabe having joined the battle and the rest of the group taking care of the werepire they all jump Duo.

He turns invisible going towards Piro.

"Your left Piro!" I yell Piro immediately flashing him blinding the vampire before using throwing blood that was on him from Gabe onto the vampire, revealing his location.

Duo hisses as Frank bashes him into the ground with his shield. Lia shoots dozens of arrows into him, piercing his eyes, and Julian cuts him in half, finishing off Duo.

"You alright Julian? That Werepire must've been tough." I say coughing up Julian helps me up as I couldn't get up with my broken arm.

"I should be asking you that you're a wreck." She giggles.
