New World

I slowly opened my eyes and… I found myself in a kind of red transmutation circle, looking around, all of my classmates lied on the ground, seemingly asleep. How did this happen? When did it happen? What even happened?

R-Right… we were going to class... it was just like any other day...

"English! How FUN! I totally didn't wait last minute to finish my essay!" I shouted sarcastically as I laid my face on the table.

Procrastination's nothing new to me. Every day always the same things... next Damon's gonna say he only did the minimum to finish the work, but the truth is that he's essay will probably get full score.

"I only wrote the bare minimum too... how 'bout you?" Damon had a guilty look on his face as he played with his orange hair, wanting Amber's attention.

We all know the answer... she didn't do it.

"Bold of you to assume I even touched it," Amber smirked.

The only thing that doesn't repeat is what she does after this... what kind of scheme is she planning to get out of this one?

"She was watching some isekai trash," I pointed at her with a disappointed look making her raise an eyebrow and give me a gaze saying 'you're no better than me'

"It was too predictable... but you have no rights to judge me. I know you watched some trashy isekai too yesterday,"

"Touche... touche"

As always, the bell that controls when I stop paying attention rang. Everyone sat down and waited... and waited... and waited... we were no stranger to teachers coming late, but 30 minutes without any substitute?

We could go outside and tell an authority... or... we can totally just sit around doing whatever we want for the rest of the period...

Finally, the bell rang again. I sighed and grabbed my bag... 4 periods before I can go back home...

Everyday... we do this every day... barely any difference. Sometimes I'd even forget if this was Wednesday or February... just a little more to go... I can't wait for a break.

"What the hell?" I tried sliding the door open, but it wouldn't even budge.

"Just open the door already," Amber yawned as she tied up her unruly crimson red-hair.

It's not opening...

"I can't... it's not openin-" All the sudden there was a flash of light and then... I woke up here... on the floor. There's way too much effort in this to be a prank too.

We're in some kind of building, I can tell that the walls are made of stone bricks... the room looks like a perfect circle... some kind of tower? The roof isn't visible to the blind eye. It's too dark. A normal tower or building even in fantasies shouldn't be this suspicious. Assuming this isn't a dream that is.

"My head..." An all too familiar voice from the ground spoke, "Oh sh-"

"Language. We can be inside some anime and we should keep this kid-friendly," I played around while inspecting the walls.

"Where... are we?" Amber smiled, interested.

Wait...

"Did you somehow cause this?"

"Nope! Wish I did though, this seems like it'll be a lot of fun," Amber pushed herself up gently but instead thrust herself into the stone wall.

"Ouch... I'm... stronger than I thought," she looked at her shivering hands with a terrifying smile.

"What. Are. You. Planning?"

"Nothing. Nothing yet... anyways! Whatcha doing?"

"Just looking around. Mind if you help me out?" I tried knocking on the stone to see if it was some kind of foam, but it's stone alright. I'm still stuck with thinking this is some sort of reality tv show... I really can't believe it's an isekai...

"Sure, I don't think it's prank though... it feels too real," she said while looking around

"The roof... it's too dark," she narrowed her eyes, confirming my suspicion.

"Yeah, so I wasn't alone in thinking that"

I don't know if Amber's 'smart', but her guesses seem to somehow be very accurate... luck or intelligence? I don't know. All I know is I just gotta believe her.

Then she picked up pebbles and started throwing it up at every angle and finally… we heard something... something that's human.

"Ouch! HOW dare you throw a rock at me… ME, I am a noble and even if you're the heroes I could easily have executed" someone whined

And I can easily tell everyone hates you, your douchiness, "Hell if I car-"

"I'm terribly sorry sir, we had no knowledge of your presence there," Amber bowed her head and grabbed mine down too.

Well, she's pulling out her dictionary, no one uses those words daily...

"Well, you seem to have a bit of common sense in you. As my status shows, I am a noble man so I shall forgive you this once, Hero," he said with disgust in his voice as he uttered out the word 'hero'.

Why do I have to bow my head to this loser of a noble? I bet he wouldn't last a day without his little wallet! Somedays I wish people could disappear...

"W-What's going on? Amber? and... BOWING!? Oh my lord! You're actually bowing! THE WORLD'S GONNA END," Misa's eyes widened in shock.

Suddenly, the atmosphere changed. As I glanced back at Amber, her glare towards Misa spoke a million words at once, but the just of it would probably be... 'You'd better start acting right now or else,'.

How does she do it?

"If you ever do mind, can I make a request great noble?" Amber asked, her voice filled with admiration towards the one whom she directed her voice to… and yet her expression is so fricking scaring. She's bitting her own teeth and setting an aura that sent chills down my spine.

"Since you asked me so nicely, peasant, I shall grace you with the ability to see me"

Dude... if you don't wanna die... don't come down...

The noble opened the wooden gate, giving us the ability to escape, but the question is will we? There are three guards with him and they're probably stronger than all of us combined. Not to mention the iron armour.

Guess I'll play along with Amber's games for now. Outside just looks like a field of grass... even if we run... we won't get far.

"Who's that and why is Amber so respectful to him? What's even happening right now?" Misa whispered

"He's just a noble who was watching us or something. Amber's playing a little game with him, probably to see how easily manipulated that noble could be. Although, I'm sure you'd be able to puppet him however you want," I whisper back

"If only I was that good," Misa sighed

Misa Kalypso, Amber's best friend. I've heard from Amber she's great at the performing arts. I don't know what this lady's capable of though... in an isekai world... she can be dangerous. Even if I talk to her often... it never really feels like I have a good grasp of her character.

"Alert the king of their awakening" the noble whispered to one of his guards.

He's slimmer than I imagined and hell... if he doesn't open his pretty mouth he'd be quite handsome, unfortunately, I'm straight, but… looking at Amber's gentle smile towards him makes me think of how I know this girl all my life yet she is still so terrifying to me.

The guard ran off to the horizon as Misa stood up. One guard down... though even if it's a 2 vs 3... with our experience or lack of experience... I think I still don't like those odds.

"I am lord Alex Capaneus,"

Arrogant douche with a weird last name? Gotcha,

"Pleasure to meet you, I am class representative Amber Holmes, no relation to Sherlock Holmes,"

Even with this odd situation... she manages to squeeze in a reference...

Wait, should I introduce myself too?

"Right… I'm also class representative Terumi Hiroto, my first name is Hiroto. If I'm familiar with the cliches, where I originated from is very similar to a small island on the very east of your map,"

This could be… fun. I can't exactly be disrespectful though, I love my head too much for that. I'll let Amber lead on this one. Never been the type to lead.

"Who might that be behind you?" Alex asked, looking over me to Misa.

When the heck did she get behind my back? Why the heck is she even playing scared? Don't use the victim card on me, I know what you're doing.

"Help" she whispers, acting helpless.

GEEE, I wonder who watches as many animes as me and Amber? They totally wouldn't be able to figure out how to speak FANCY.

Ugh... whatever. Let's get this over with already.

"She's Misa Kalypso sir,"

"Thanks, I owe you one," she whispers.

You'd better pay up later...

Eventually, everyone woke up to me, Amber and Misa explaining what happened. I am so glad that I'm not the only weeb here... I guess the reason most of them aren't freaking out is that it hasn't really hit them yet that they wouldn't be able to go back to our old lives... or they're people like me.

If this is a dream, I hope I never wake up. If this is a show, I hope the show never ends... because there's one thing this world has that my life doesn't. Something unexpected. Something different.

With that... it all begins... right?

"If you all would follow us," A knight wearing a polish set of armour stood in front a bunch of carriages. From a glance, his shiny white armour decorated with silver looks expensive... probably shouldn't be too casual with this dude.

I hopped into the carriage closest to me with Amber and Damon. As I looked at everyone getting into their carriages, the knight knocked and opened our carriage's door.

"May I join you?" He asked.

Why this carriage? What does he want? I don't trust him... "What do you wa-"

"Feel free to, I'm Amber Holmes. Black hair's Hiroto. You?" Amber offered him a seat next to Damon.

No way she's that trusting...

"Thank you for the introduction, my name is Felix Tristan," The knight took off his helmet to reveal his short red hair and freckles on his fair skin.

After the carriage finally started moving, Amber started asking him a bunch of questions like who he was and what the world's like. I guess information was what she was after.

Apart of me is still questioning why I'm here and whether I should be happy or not. I have millions of thoughts inside my head that I can't exactly put out into words, but... this feeling of fear, excitement and curiosity... all mixing together.

I'm usually not the type to get too lost in thought, but in this case, I think it's an acceptable exception.

As I continued to leave myself alone to my own thoughts, I realized that the carriage had stopped. Looking around, the carriage was totally empty.

Did they leave me behind or something?!
