At The Hospital

"Hello ma, am looking for...

"Doctor John we have an emergency at room 45" a Nurse ran out to call a particular doctor that just passed me.

"Nurse Cynthia what seems to be the problem" the doctor looked worried as he left what he was doing.

"Mr Collins is having difficulty breathing"

Wait, which Mr Collins?

My Dad?

No!!

It can't be him.

"Let's go now, Nurse Nancy make sure you handle all this for me" he pointed to the large files he was doing.

They left,. But I couldn't stay knowing whether or not this Mr Collins is my Dad or not.

I had to follow them

"Miss what seems to be the problem" doctor John who observed that I was following him

"I am Daisy Philips and I wanted to know if Mr Collins is my Dad or not?" That should explain my panicking.

"Wow, where have you been, we tried to get in touch with you. We even went to your house yet no one was home" he drew nearer to me.

Wait!

What is happening.

"Why is my Dad here?"

What happened?

"Miss your father was involved in a very fatal car accident, he was rushed here by locals who saw he was still alive. Now he is in critical condition" my tears broke out.

No!!

It can't be my Dad!!

How did this happen?

I fell to the ground, I can't believe what am hearing.

"Miss your father battles between life and death, but let's be hopeful" he came closer now to hug me .

Just what I needed because I am not sure I can take all this in.

Who did I offend?

"Can I see him?" I found it hard to say those words.

"Yes sure but after we are done checking him" he smiled trying to ease my pain with his smile

We approached the room number and I didn't know what to expect.

How did my Dad get an accident.

Where on Earth is my mom?

He opened the door and only tears were all I could give.

I couldn't believe what I saw

There he was, my hero wrapped in a life supporting machine.

Everything felt so unreal to me.

Probably I am sleeping and all this was just a nightmare.

Please wake me up, please do!

"Miss now he is stable but I advice we leave him to rest, so please you might have to come back" doctor John looked as though he wished he could hand pick all the pain in my heart.

Where do I go from here, Certainly I can't go home.

"I would stay here in the hospital" I gave a tired gaze as I could only imagine sleeping on an hospital seat all night.

Nevertheless I would do it.

"No problem miss, am sorry if you don't mind me asking, where is your mom?"

In the game of chess the pawns go first.

The burden in my chest kept increasing by every single minute spent.

Footsteps sounded louder than a trains' horn and I really wished she doesn't come back.

BROKEN!!

The broken window!

Yes!

I would use the broken window.

The only problem is that it is upstairs and I don't know why mom refuses to fix it.

So many Windows have gotten spoilt over the years and has been fixed.

But this particular window has been broken for the past five years and nothing has been done to it.

Now I have now very much nicknamed it BROKEN.

I took to my new destination.

Right in front of me is a chance to jump.

I have two chance.

I might jump and survive or jump and die.

Both either ways, I would escape from all this.

I braced myself for the jump.

Hands stretched, legs out, neck in check and most especially mom not in sight.

I lifted up the frame, breathing in freedom's air.

All this would have been avoided if mom had not locked all the doors that leads outside. Even to the point of closing all the windows but not BROKEN

"Come back here" someone pulled my hair back.

She is back!!

When did she come back?

"How dare you!, After everything I have done for you" it was clear she was so angry.

She took the wooden seat by the wall and smashed the broken window.

Glass pieces were everywhere, she took hold of a glass piece. Held it firmly and you could clearly see blood dripping from her hand.
