Cheeky owner of a struggling fashion boutique, Poppy Fields dreams of having her designs rocking the couture runways in Paris and Milan. Chapter 74
Roman stood at the bottom of the steps looking up at the older woman with white hair cut into a sleek bob and the most pristine fashion Poppy had ever seen. She looked like she was right out of an Italian fashion magazine for an older woman. A beautiful woman who looked to be in her sixties was nothing more than sheer fashion perfection.
The only thing was, everyone had fallen silent as the standoff between Roman and the woman glared at each other. The tension was so thick that no one dared move. The only sounds you could hear were the chirping of birds and a few crickets.
As Poppy watched the woman's hands clasp in front of her, Remi came up beside her, whispering, "Watch this. It's like a Mexican standoff with these two. "
As Remi stood close by, she translated for Rick and Poppy, as Roman spoke to his mother in Italian.
"Mother," Roman said in a cold tone.
