Conqueror of Magic

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Read on mobile device for best experience. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having lost his parents at a young age and not having access to a home since it had burned to the ground after a sudden outburst of flames, Arthur was taken in by the council of sorcery. Not because they had felt sympathy for him but simply due to the fact that even though his parents had been burned to ashes, Arthur did not even have a single scratch on his body. Now intrigued by the boy, the council of sorcery sent their most obedient servant; the one they call “the inspector” to relocate Arthur into a prestigious school so that his strength could bloom so that they could have a powerful ally in the future. Even so, the council of sorcery commanded that the school treated him like trash. This was because Arthur’s parents were quite powerful in their prime and as such were sought after by the council of sorcery. Even though it was an amazing offer for Arthur’s parents, they refused which invoked the long lasting rage of the council of sorcery. In a world full of factions that try to sway the tides of power to their own side, Arthur must now learn how to grow strong so he could finally find the person who had killed his parents and get revenge for the years of torment that the council of sorcery had put him through. Although he just might get quite a bit more than he bargained for. —————————————————————————————————————————— Note: This story will be quite long since there are a lot of things that need to be covered in the story. Sadly though, I’m fueled by compliments so the more people that enjoy this novel, the more I can write. Schedule plan for this novel is 2 chapters a day, 1000+ words each or if does quite well, it will be moved up to 3 chapters a day (same number of words each). —————————————————————————————————————————— Hope you enjoy this novel though, happy reading.

Inspector

"Wait, we can't be sure of this. Inspector, ask the school how long each of Arthur's battles took from start to finish. I want that information as soon as possible!" the figure said before the inspector rushed out to call the principal again so that he could get the information that his superiors sought to learn. However when he had returned, he seemed to have a look of worry on his face.

"So do you have the information we want or not?" the old man which had given the inspector the task of getting the time which each of Arthur's battles lasted asked as he had been waiting impatiently. However the inspector did not make any remarks about the old man's attitude and began to speak.

"Arthur age 8, time, 3 minutes and 29 seconds"

"Arthur age 9, time, 4 minutes and 42 seconds"

"Arthur age 10, time, 2 minutes and 12 seconds"

"Arthur age 11, time, 6 minutes and 54 seconds"

"Arthur age 12, time, 8 minutes and 57 seconds"

"Arthur age 13, time, 24 seconds"

"Arthur age 14, time, 11 seconds"

"Arthur age 15, time, 5 seconds"

"Arthur age 16, time, disqualified for finishing the battle before it could start"

"As for the status of those battles, all were losses up to this year," the inspector said which caused everyone's heart to sink in horror as their worst fears were coming true.

"He completely fooled us. He's toying with us! Although something is quite odd, I don't understand why he would go on for so long if he intended on losing from the start. Why did he only start losing so quickly after he was 13 years old?" one of the figures asked.

"Inspector, look into this and find us more information about what had happened between when he was 12 and 13 and what had caused this change," another figure added on to which the inspector left without a complaint.

The next day, the inspector arrived at the school which Arthur went to as he had some urgent business to attend to. The school itself was a large area as if it was a miniature city. It had several buildings inside of it which were there for the students to attend it year long before going home for the summer. There were stores as well as many other facilities which were ran privately by the school. Arthur himself lived inside a basement in one of those buildings as the school considered even giving him that was too much for a lowly vermin. The school itself where all the learning took place was a tall building constructed of mainly glass on the outside. The learning facility also contained a large grass field outside which had been used during the genius magic competition but was also regularly used by the students for their activities.

"Who are you?" the guards at the front of the school gates which were dressed in full silver armour and carried large spears with a sharp blade at the top asked the inspector to which he simply walked forward without stopping. Seeing this, the guards tried to place their blades in front of him to stop him from moving however the inspector simply turned to flames before reappearing behind them. This left the guards shocked because magic control to this degree was not something they could compete with. They couldn't handle whoever had come to the school and as such decided to leave things to the principal along with the other skilled teachers.

If the inspector had actually come there with ill intentions, the entire school and probably the city would have been burned to ashes. However he was only there to gather some information. As such, the inspector was not to be deemed a threat.

The inspector quickly found his way through the main building of the school and found the principal's office which was on the first floor. The inspector ignored everyone else and went to speak to the principal of the school.

"Hello," the inspector said as he walked inside the room to which the principal looked to have been caught off guard as he was on a seemingly important phone call but at the sight of the inspector, he turned off his phone and began to give the inspector his undivided attention.

Although the principal had possession of a phone of some sort, it was not the traditional smart phone. Instead, it was a bar of steel which had only one function. That being to call a person that the caller intended to connect with through the use of magic. This was a very basic communication spell which nearly everyone could make use of. Although it was a very basic spell, it had a condition. That being to communicate with someone over large distances, the user needed to have quite a bit of stamina which of course both the principal and the inspector had.

"I didn't expect to see you so soon. I guess that the information you received yesterday was quite startling. Although I do understand why they would feel that way. After all, no one could have expected this," said the principal to which the inspector simply nodded his head and didn't say anything unless he needed to.

"I guess you haven't changed one bit. You're still the quiet type like you always were. But I guess it comes with being on the job for so long. Nevertheless, I understand you're here to speak to the boy, follow me," said the principal as he left his office as he led the inspector towards the building that Arthur lived in.

After going down a couple floors, the two finally made it to the floor that Arthur lived in. That being the coldest one since it wasn't really maintained. Even so, it didn't seem like it bothered Arthur since he never seemed to have complained at all.

*knock* *knock*

The inspector knocked to ask Arthur to open the door however the principal saw no reason for this and thought that it was preposterous to show any type of respect to Arthur. As such, he tried to push past the inspector and open the door by force however, he was stopped by the inspector with a face of horror.

"Don't move!" said the inspector as he placed fear inside the heart of the principal. For some reason he seemed to have been adamant about stopping the principal from what he was about to do.

"But why?" the principal asked as he wondered why the inspector who didn't care much for anything seemed so intent on respecting Arthur.

"You don't understand how powerful this child is just yet. You see, he didn't just defeat a version of Leon that you're used to. The Leon that he had fought was much different. You see he was supposed to be making a performance of sorts," said the inspector to which the principal was left at a loss for words as he could tell where the conversation was going.

"What exactly do you mean performance? Please don't tell me you're talking about what I'm thinking," said the principal in utter fear.
