Coming of the Apocalypse Queen

In the year 2XXX, a blue meteor from outer space landed on Earth and signaled the dawn of the apocalypse. More than 60% of the population was wiped out by a mysterious disease. Plants and animals turned into mutants. People gained powers and abilities. The world and the government collapsed and turned into a world where only the strong is respected while the weak are doomed to die. Lilian Mo didn't have a good life during the apocalypse. She was reduced to being a possession of her fiancé and became his glorified bed warmer. He kept her locked up in his villa and rarely allowed her to go out, keeping her around as his pet that he took care of. Though it was considered a luxury to be able to eat three times a day and drink clean water in the apocalypse when all the water sources are contaminated, Lilian Mo sneered at this kind of life and escaped her confinement meeting people along the way and gaining an ability on her own. She found 'friends' during her journey and fought alongside them through life and death, only to be betrayed by them. Lilian Mo died tragically when she was pushed to a group of mutant animals by her so-called 'friend' whom she treated as a sister. When it seemed like everything was going to end for her, she opened her eyes and went back to her sixteen-year-old body, two months before the apocalypse. "The heavens have not forsaken me." Lilian Mo swore to grow stronger and take revenge on those that betrayed her trust. Lucky for her, she was reborn with the knowledge of the future and given her own special dimension. Her golden cheats allowed her to sail through the apocalypse without worrying about food or water. After waking up two months before the apocalypse, Lilian Mo decided to set her eyes on the people that wronged her. ▪▪▪ A story about a girl's journey to becoming stronger while trying to survive in the apocalyptic world and facing the man of her past. ▪▪▪ Reminding my readers that this book's rating is [No One 17 And Under Allowed] which means it contains mature content not suitable for young readers. Read at your own discretion. This also includes gore, violence, abuse, and explicit content because the setting is an apocalyptic world. The MC is a heartless person who kills without hesitation but has a soft spot for the people she cares about. If this bothers you, feel free to drop the book. There are no major misunderstandings between the characters. Face slapping is reduced to a minimum and there are no exaggerated or draggy arguments. I only write happy endings ;) This is pure fiction. Don't expect it to be realistic. My third language is English--hoping that the Grammar Nazis would be gentle with me Cover photo not mine. I only edited it.

Section 1

Meanwhile...

"Hey, Ye Yu, how long is this going to take?" Nathalie Yang said. Waiting around like this was extremely boring. There was nothing to do and there were too many people guarding them so it wasn't like she needed to work hard. Moreover, she couldn't understand why Ye Yu was so stiff about everything. It was like some kind of stick was shove up the other party's a--

"Ms. Yang, please don't slack on the job. This is an important matter. An additional solar generator in the base would bring benefits to everyone. You, not taking this matter seriously is very insulting!"

Nathalie Yang flashed him her middle finger and smiled. Ye Yu was appalled by her behavior as usual.

"This is really boring. I wonder if Nat is doing fine. They should be at the base by now." Nathalie Yang said aloud as she drew circles on the ground with a stick she found from somewhere around.

Ye Yu closed his eyes while crossing his arms. He was truly embarrassed that this childish person was his colleague and superior. He did not have anything against Nathalie Yang's capabilities but the woman was simply too immature to be a soldier! He wondered just how this woman was able to last long in the military when she has a hard time following instructions.

But then, he also remembered that he was the one who always ended up cleaning up after her mess.

Ye Yu shook his head.

Being a babysitter and a soldier at the same time, he was really underpaid!

"Ye Yu, those kids were really strong. If they had been trained well, I would have a really hard time."

Ye Yu was surprised. He looked at Nathalie Yang. She usually did not say these things and was always arrogant. Perhaps, his colleague was feeling depressed because she lost to someone?

Ye Yu felt happy as he thought of this. Finally! Someone managed to beat this woman into place. But then, he also felt a bit worried since she might take this matter too seriously.

"Ms. Yang, you can still ask for a rematch when we get back. I'm sure those kids won't go anywhere soon."

With this, Nathalie Yang raised her head and grinned at him. "That's right! I can still meet those kids again. They have abilities so they won't be easy to beat but this just excites me even more!"

Ye Yu looked away. Indeed, this woman was really one of a kind.

In Section 1, there was a small secluded clinic. In fact, the place did not look like a clinic. The concrete was plain without paint and the surrounding area was void with any plant life aside from muddy holes and rocky paths...

Inside was a tall figure, wearing a pristine white lab coat on their body, a pair of gloves on their hands, and a surgical mask to cover their mouth. The figure was a tall male with dark black hair and eyes. He carried a scalpel and was currently dissecting a body on the operating table. He was skillfully separating the organs and carried them out carefully before placing them individually in a metal tray.

He didn't seem to mind the blood and gore he was handling. There was an air of expertise around him and with every practiced movement, gave off the aura of being a professional in the field.

In the background, classical music was being played very softly which was helping the man in his concentration. It also distracted him from the issues of the outside world as he worked with speed and precision. His job wasn't easy. He had to separate the body parts well and not damage them.

The forehead, beak, chin even the eyes, wings, thighs, and tarsus would need extreme care. Looking at the clock, he had spent a total of 16 hours on the operating table because of the huge size of the body. Did he care? No. He was fully concentrated on his work and did not have time to care for sleep or meals.

"Hmmm." He hummed to the tune while he worked and would even move his head from time to time. He would have continued on with his work without any delay when suddenly there was banging in his door...

"DR. FANG! DR. FANG! WE NEED MEDICAL ATTENTION!"

His hand paused and a bead of sweat fell on a red fine feather.

The scalpel slipped to the floor, landing with a 'Clang!,' much to his surprise.

The man's eyes blazed as he looked at the door with murder in his eyes.

This is the end of Volume one and congratulations for making it this far. Lin Fang was never meant to appear in Volume one but... I think this also works. He will have plenty of screen time in Volume two.
