Find A Soul

They had just entered the Martial Arts classroom. They intended to check all the classrooms, but the Martial Arts class room was the first they checked.

"This class is empty." Catherine said.

Catherine believed that maybe Miller was a Vampire. But she didn't understand why he had a different scent from a Vampire. Catherine herself didn't have the scent of a Dhampir or any Creature apart from that of a regular Human. She had used magic that was taught to her by her mom. And so no Vampire could know she was a Dhampir. But how did Miller know? She hadn't done anything suspicious.

Finally she decided to ask. Miller was about to leave the Martial Arts room because he couldn't see anybody there, and thus Emily wasn't there.

"Miller." She called. Miller paused he was already close to the door. He then turned and looked at her.

"What is it." Miller said a little angry. He didn't like the idea that she had humiliated him twice. First, it was the night she did something he still didn't understand that made him feel an excruciating pain and second was what she had done to him the School Garden. He didn't like the idea of being treated as such.

Catherine could see the frown look Miller had. "It's not about fighting or quarreling." She said. "I want to ask you a question and i want you to be honest with me."

Miller's mind raced to the fact that she might ask him, what he actually is. That his smell was different, but this question was a different one.

"How did you know that i was a Dhampir?." Catherine asked.

Miller clearly couldn't tell Catherine that he had an Inspect Skill that could display the information of people.

"Just tell her a lie or tell her she isn't wearing any Solar Shield ring." The System advised Miller.

This was when Miller noticed that she had no ring on her hand, unlike Alex and Arthur who both need a Solar Shield ring to be able to walk in the sun. She was a Dhampir and thus didn't need it.

"Clearly, you aren't wearing a Solar Shield ring and you are able to walk in the Sun without it. You are able to walk in the sun without burning." Miller said.

'I should clearly get one of those. See how this Vampire figured it out.' Catherine thought worried. She knew how the Vampires hated her kind. But their was still one gap that Miller hadn't filled up. She had used Magic for up to ten years to be able to cover up her scent and have the scent of a human being. But how did this boy know what she was, even when she had the scent of a human being. He couldn't just have guessed she was a Dhampir because she didn't have a Ring.

"How did you know what I am, Miller." She said confused. "I have the scent of a Human and not a Dhampir. How did you figure it out."

Miller knew for sure she had a human scent. she had thesame scent as the other humans.

"System, what should I say?" Miller asked the System in his head. "I cannot tell her anything about my Inspect Skill."

"This is a tricky situation," the System replied, its voice calm and cool. "You cannot violate the rules of the System, but you can tell her another lie. Tell her you have the natural ability to sense the difference between dhampirs and humans."

Miller thought about this for a moment and he felt it would be the right answer.

"I have the natural Ability to sense the difference between Dhampir's and Humans." Miller said.

"So you were even able to tell the difference ane counter my Odour Camouflage spell." Catherine said. "Tell me are you a Vampire or not. Because it's rare to see a Vampire capable of casting spells."

"System." Miller said. "Do you know what Odour Camouflage spell mean."

"Odor Camouflage" - "This is a spell that conceals the natural scent of a person, allowing them to blend in with their surroundings. It is particularly useful for those who wish to avoid detection by creatures that rely on scent to track their prey. The spell can be used to mimic the scent of any animal or human, making it a powerful tool for both defense and offense.

With this spell, a person could smell like a fierce predator or a friendly neighbor, depending on their needs. It's an incredibly useful spell for those who wish to remain undetected." The System replied. "Miller I feel like you should trust Catherine. She is strong and you would need her to help you when you go Killer Mode."

Miller didn't understand why the System trusted Catherine even if he didn't. But he knew the System wanted what was best for him.

"Just tell her you are a User and don't tell her anything about being a Throsk'Bok." The System concluded.

"No, I'm not a vampire," Miller replied to Catherine, his eyes narrowing. "I'm something else. I'm what you might call a 'User', someone who's bound to an AI. I can do things that even I don't have an idea of currently."

He didn't want to reveal too much, but he also didn't want to lie. Hopefully this answer would satisfy his companion's curiosity.

"This is all very intriguing," she said, her eyes widening. "I've never heard of anything like this before. How did you become a User?"

"That's an answer for another day." Miller said. "Now, if you don't mind let's go find Emily."

"Instead of finding her physically. I can find her soul." Catherine said.

"What do you mean." Miller asked.

"It's a kind of magic, if i perform it. I would be able to find her soul and thus know the location. I think that would be better." Catherine said.

"That's... an intriguing idea," Miller said, curious but a bit skeptical. "But I'm not sure I understand how it works. How would you be able to find someone's soul? What if they don't have one?"

Catherine looked at him, amused. "All creatures have souls, even if they don't know it. And I can use my magic to find those souls, and sense their location. It's a bit like having a GPS for people."

Miller raised an eyebrow. "So you can find anyone, no matter where they are?"

"Not quite," Catherine replied. "If someone is in another dimension or realm. It would be impossible, unless i am there."

Miller thought of this for a second. If it was a good idea and he finally felt so. Searching the entire school wasn't easy and this would be a better option.

"I love this idea." Miller said. "Find Emily's soul."
