Lightning could be heard from miles away. A storm haunted the waters between the mainland and the island.
"Spread the ships out! Spread the formation and do not allow the ships to ram into each other!"
Oemitsu screamed as his voice was almost impossible to hear thanks to the heavy rain and the waves crashing on his ship.
"My lord, ship 5, 7 and 9 have capsized."
A servant screamed at him.
"Dammit, how far are we from landing?!"
Oemitsu hit his hand on a wall, making an indent.
"My King, under normal circumstances we should have already arrived, however, with this storm it is hard to predict."
Princess Guinevere told him, trying to calm him down, after all, Oemirsu's anger is feared by all. Even his most close friends and family fear him when he is angered, even if they know that he would never attack them... but they don't fear him because of a chance of him attacking them... they fear him because when he is enraged, he is unpredictable.
"We gotta keep going, we cannot turn back now."
Vergo shrugged. All of them knew the risks, including Oemitsu, so there was nothing to do besides continuing.
"ENEMY FLEET INCOMING!"
Eleonora screamed as she pointed at their left, making everyone look in that direction.
Ships could be seen in the horizon, they were all grouped up in a tight formation.
"So Asvarre still has a navy, this is a surprise. How many ships?"
Oemitsu inquired, his mind was already on the run, trying to think in a way of defeating them without causing too much damage.
"It is hard to see thanks to the storm, however, according to our predictions it should be around 20 ships."
Lim answered as she squinted and tried to count them.
"Valentina, I will give you 50 battleships, crush them."
After thinking for a little, Oemitsu came up with a good solution.
"Isn't 50 warships overkill? I could accomplish the mission with only 10. Specially considering all our battleships are equipped with that weapon of mass destruction."
Valentina immediately took out her scythe with a rather excited look.
"I want to make sure that by the end of the day, they have no more ships. Remember, our objective is landing troops on an island. Complete naval supremacy is a must."
Oemitsu told her before he turned to look at the raging sea.
"It shall be accomplished."
Valentina giggled before making a polite bow and disappearing.
Immediately after she went away, balls of fire light up the skies with a beautiful orange light. Then they slowly fell down upon Oemitsu's ships lighting some of them on fire.
"CATAPULTS, BRACE FOR IMPACT!"
After his scream, multiple fire balls fell down from the skies, hitting and sinking his ships.
"Land must be close, we are almost there!"
Lim said before being pushed back by the impact of the flaming ball, making her stumble and almost fall. She would have fallen if Oemitsu didn't held her.
"You okay?"
He asked her, just to see a faint red hue on her cheeks.
"Yeah."
She answered before Oemitsu helped her regain her balance.
"There it is, land on sight!"
Eleonora suddenly exclaimed with a slight smile on her lips while she looked at her former follower and friend, and now possible bed companion.
"Good, get the transports ready, this is going to be a hard landing."
Oemitsu warned them.
...
...
...
They managed to land on the west side of the island, on a beach, however, before they could even disembark there was an army waiting for them.
Oemitsu jumped down from the bismark and landed on the beach as soon as he did that, arrows flew and began to hit the soldiers that were following his lead.
"Looks like the two brothers united, seeing me coming for their throne. They might be just a little bit smarter than expected. Form a shield wall! We need to get a safe point for our soldiers to land."
The Captain nodded while Oemitsu charged head on into the enemy army. Smashing through everything in his way.
Oemitsu is swinging and slicing his opponents with his sword and spear. In the last few months, he focused on trying to learn how to fight while dual-wielding both his spear and sword. And when he managed to dominate it, he gave a name for this fighting style.
Overkill.
If the enemy is outside his sword range, he can quickly eliminate it with his spear and if the enemy is too close for him to use his spear, he can use the sword.
With that in mind, Oemitsu was mowing down the enemy soldiers as if they were made out of tofu. Heads, torsos, legs and arms. Limbs were flying around Oemitsu as he swung his weapons. It was an horrific sight. The enemy soldiers were already demoralised since were fighting against the Britannian soldiers, a monster charging head on into their lines caused their moral to hit rock bottom.
After killing his way through, Oemitsu finally reached on one of the catapults that was throwing boulders covered in a highly inflammable oil. Soldiers tried to stop him from damaging it, but a simple swing from his spear separated the men from their waists, making their innards dirty the ground.
Then, Oemitsu cut the ropes and destroyed the catapult.
"Good. One down..."
Oemitsu looked at the other catapults that were giving his fleet some trouble.
"... many to go."
After saying this, he shook his head before dashing and killing his way through until he reached the next carapult.
Oemitsu did this again, then again, then again... until he managed to destroy almost all of the catapults.
After destroying the catapult, almost by himself, he heard the soldiers finally catching up to himto him, it looks like they managed to bring in the rest of the soldiers.
Soon enough the defending army retreated, abandoning the beach. Britannia now had a base in the island and could finally push forward.
'One more push and the world is finally mine.'
