Cruel World

"If Xiaoxiao's family never caused trouble..Li Xia's family and I wouldn't have suffered. Untie him!" The foreign men untied me and I walked to Wei qiang. "Zhi Xiang, I've been having these dreams of her. It all led to your wife."

"Wei qiang, you do know it was Hyun's men that started the shooting. The man is who killed the one you loved and you sent Xiaoxiao to Hyun? You know where he is. Take me with you and we could fix this." I place my hand on his shoulder. "I know you're better than this."

"Hyun..killed, I trusted that man and Li Li," he looks up "Zhi xiang forgive me."

"It's okay. I understand how it feels to lose the one you love."

I forgave him. In that moment we heard a gun click. "I'm sorry, but I can't allow you to hurt my master. I may have to kill you in advance for my master."

"Your master? Let's see," Wei qiang points the gun at the man. "Who's bullet is faster. Here." He hands me another gun. "You'll need this."

"Get them!" The man yells to the others.

They all come charging at us and we fight them off. Some of them had a harder head than the others but we made it through. They were weak, had multiple weak spots.

Wei Qiang points the gun at the one leading them. "We'll be leaving then."

He smirks and moves aside. "So do."

We walked to the exit but it didn't feel right. I stop Wei qiang before reaching the door. "Something doesn't feel right."

"Trip mine. We're going to have to jump our way out. On three. Three, two, one!"

We jump out the exit and land on our chest to the ground. The building explodes with all the people inside.

Wei Qiang looks back and gets up. He then kneels down on both knees and cries out the words. "I'm sorry Li Xia! Forgive me!"

I pick him up and slap him on the back. "Let's go find Hyun and xiaoxiao. Avenge your lover. I called a chopper, it should be here in a few minutes."

"Yeah."

Soon the chopper arrived. "Sir! We've found her location."

Sitting in the chopper, it was silent. Wei Qiang didn't say anything. I put my hand on his shoulder, "Wei, I'm sorry you lost her. You're my buddy and I should've noticed you've been so depressed without her."

He looks down, "I'm sorry too," he takes out his gun and points to his head. "Find her." Wei Qiang falls out of the chopper then shoots himself before he lands in the ocean.

I tried to grab him but it was too fast. "Wei qiang...I hope you'll be at peace with li xia now."

An hour later myself along with my men had arrived on the island. They took care of Hyun's men while I went and found Xiaoxiao. I searched every room, they were gone. They've disappeared, I thought to myself, where are they? Where is xiaoxiao?

I then find files and paper on the ground in Hyun's bedroom. I picked up a few sheets to see if there were any clues. I looked through them and found a letter, a letter in xiaoxiao's handwriting and it seemed as if she had rushed it. It had said.

Honey, Zhi Xiang. Hyun's men had told him you were coming. I overheard them on the phone so I quickly wrote this letter before he would take me away. Listen, don't try to find me. Take care of my ma and pa's company. I don't know where he'll take me but trust me when I say he won't hurt me. I'll escape somehow but for now play safe. I love you.

I fell to my knees and cried, "she's gone." I headed back out of the house and it was quiet. My men gather up by the chopper.

"Sir we've killed all of those men like you asked to."

"Plan failed. The target has heard of our plan and flew off."

"Should we look for the miss? And the target again?"

"No. I will follow her wishes. If she wants to escape herself then so be it. Let's get back to the company." I stepped into the chopper and as it took off, I was heartbroken. She didn't want me to save her but why? Why wouldn't she want to find her and save her? It was all stuck in my head till we reached the company. Xiaoxiao's mother came to me.

"You didn't find her?" She was at the urge to break down but instead had taken a deep breath and walked away.

"She told me not to find her. That she'll escape herself."

Her mother stops and turns around. "Of course. She was always independent. If she doesn't come back within a year, I will hurt you." She says as she continues to walk away. I looked up into the sky and closed my eyes. "Stay safe xiaoxiao and escape as fast as you can. I can not stay here without you." I opened my eyes and headed inside the building.

Xiaoxiao's perspective:

My hands were tied. Deeply I hoped Zhi xiang got my message and did not come look for me. This was all too much. "Where are we going?"

"Somewhere." He says rudely. "You better stop asking questions before I hurt you."

"Why'd you take me? What do you want from me?"

He turns round and slaps me across the face. "I told you not to ask me so many questions. Now you've angered me. When we reach our destination you will be punished." He punches me and knocks me out for the rest of the trip.

Most people will say they only saw pitch black, but what I saw was Zhi Xiang's face. We had our wedding. My ma and pa were there. No nightmares. Everything was perfect. We were holding each other. This wasn't just a dream now, it had turned into a memory, back to when we were high schoolers. It was the perfect night, Zhi xiang had taken me somewhere to feel better, my favorite place , the beach. We sat on the sand as he had his arms wrapped behind me. I didn't feel sober at the time, I felt as if I was drunk in love.

"Xiaoxiao, you feeling better now."

"Hmm, I am. Thank you for bringing me here."

"Anything to make you feel better."

I look down and put my hair behind my ear. "Zhi xiang, the world can be cruel. What if one day..i just give up."

He slowly puts my hands in his hands. "Yes, this world is cruel. Many bad things will happen but you are never alone while fighting. Now that i met you, i can't leave you. No, I won't leave you." He hugs me tightly and kisses my cheek. "I love you, xiaoxiao."

My heart skipped a beat and I turned around. I see him smiling and I can't help but to also smile with him. Along with the words, "I love you too."

I opened my eyes and was laying on a huge bed. My hands were still tied and my mouth was covered with tape. I looked around and Hyun was around, then came out from the bathroom was steam and Hyun half naked wearing only a towel waist down. I turn my head and look away.

He scoffs and crawls on top of me. "Don't act like you dont like my body."

I wanted to say something but my mouth was covered. He looks down at my body, "you still have a good body after all these years."

I kicked him off of me and continued to look away.

"Whatever. I don't want you anyways. I'll be gone tonight, don't try anything. I'll have my men outside just Incase you try to escape." He then removes the tape off my mouth. "You won't need this. No one will hear you anyways."

"Hyun, you're a psychopath! You crazy! Let me go!"

He walks towards the door and leaves without saying anything.

"Ugh! This crazy bastard," I look around the room and try to find something to untie my hands. I then spot a metal hanger with a sharp end. 'This can help me." I hop over to the hanger on the ground and start to poke holes in a line down the tape wrapping my hands.

I tried to speed up and find a way to leave immediately. The tape rips and I get up and try to find weapons. "I hope zhi xiang has it better than me."
