A kitten in the alleyway

*Pitter* *Patter*

The sound of rain can be heard throughout the city and the roars of thunder echo in the distance over the sound of a long black car, with shiny silver wheels, a driver and clearly someone important in the back of the vehicle.

*Roar*

The woman in the back of the car is wearing a suit, with her glossy black hair tied up in a loose ponytail, sitting comfortably in her seat whilst talking to someone on the phone with a gentle smile on her face.

The smile she gives off is warm and as she puts down phone cracks and pops start to come from the front of the car as it gradually slows to a stop just outside of an alleyway.

"My apologies madam, we appear to have broken down, I shall step outside to fix it immediately."

"Of course."

The woman says as she sneakily picks up an umbrella and scoots towards the door.

She opens the door and steps out in a nice pair of black trainers contrary to anyone would think a beautiful woman in a suit would wear but there she was standing at 5'9" next to an open car door with a bright red umbrella over her head.

The sound of the rain as it hit the umbrella echoed in the nearby area, and as the woman began to wander outside of the car her chauffeur heard her footsteps and looked up from what he was doing only to see his mistress meander around with a red umbrella above her head and a happy smile as she enjoyed the sound of the rain and he hurried towards her.

"Madam! what are you doing outside the vehicle it's cold out and you might catch a cold."

He said worriedly

"Don't worry so much I just enjoy the rain."

she says as her head turns to face the driver and as she turns something catches her attention looking around to see what interested her she looks down the dark alleyway and sees under the glow of a nearby lamp, part of a box sticking out of the shadow of a nearby building with a tattered umbrella just above it stopping the box from getting wet.

Curious as to why the box is being shielded from the weather she walks towards it slowly making sure that the alley is safe, which is one of the many traits she picked up whilst being the owner of a large company, to make sure that she is always fine.

As she nears the box and peers inside the warm smile on her face rapidly morphs into one of anger, then to worry as her motherly instincts kick in and she rushes to the box to make sure that what she found was not what brought her many unpleasant and sad thoughts.

"Thank God"

She sighs as she slowly reaches into the box and pulls out a small, slightly warm, baby with metallic silver hair, a cute face whom was sound asleep.

"Poor girl"

The woman mutters as a tear falls down the side of her face feeling sorry for her as she finally notices that atop the little girls head sits a pair of cat-like ears and at the bottom of her spine is a tail both in the same colour as her hair.

The appendages bring a motherly smile to her face along with angry thoughts as she realises the reason as to why she was outside in the rain.

She was born different.

The woman slowly brings the child closer to her and gives her a motherly hug to try and warm her up and as she does so she finally decides what to do as she whispers to the baby:

"It's alright now, I'm going to bring you with me and look after you and your going to become apart of my family, you'll even have a sister who's just a little older than you."

She says as she wipes the few tears from her face as she gives herself a reassuring nod to make sure that what she's doing is right, to make this new member of her family happy.

"Your name's going to be Luna from now on."

She says as she gives her a kiss on the forehead and as she walks out of the alleyway towards the car she looks down at the baby at says warmly.

"And I'm your mum Kumi."
